Episode 45-The news

“Hero” I called loudly and clearly cutting whatever it is he might be thinking making other people around jump at the sudden call of his name.

“I’m fine” I told him and he finally relaxed from glaring at my mom.

“Look, I have a really terrible day in that building-” I was saying when my eyes caught on something on the TV, I moved past Tony and Tanya who seems to be obstructing the TV from me. The headline was pretty clear; “A war declaration from the Aliens”

“Late this evening, an alien Queen was captured and kept in captivity for research purposes on the aliens that had almost ended humanity five years ago, but she was so powerful that she blew up the entire research facilities which was said to be more huge than five central stadium combined, few surviving doctors from the wreck attested that she was the queen of the alien race Ghafils and was very fluent in English, she was also at the moment carrying a child which for humans would be a vulnerable state, the united state government have launched a nationwide search for the Alien queen as she was said to be far more dangerous than the all missiles of the world combined. Doctor who had examined the injuries of people who survived the collapse of the building had testified on how dangerous this alien is from the severe injuries of the victim”    The reporter reported and shifted to the image of a doctor being interviewed by another reporter.

“I have never in my entire life see anything like it…dead bodies from the wreck had their bodies destroyed before their life was taken, few other people are there with a active brain but dead bodies, it was quite an unseal and strange thing and with someone like that on the loose it can be the end of humanity, so it’ll be for everyone’s good if they also help the government in searching for this alien, she needs to be taken down before we all down before her” The doctor had advised and the TV screen shifted again to the reporter broadcasting.

“The few people that actually survived claim every aliens on earth will be evacuating earth deducted from the conversation the queen had had with one of her servants, the governments had planned to keep them here that way they could be easily cut down instead of waiting for them to attack and-” The TV went off immediately and I turned towards Nicholas and everyone giving me a sympathetic look.

“Are you really the one they are talking about?” Danny questioned looking at me with curious expression. I was really glad to have Danny in my house, as well as other part of the survivors crew that were not present in our little reunion back at The Stewarts junkyard.

“I’m sorry…I need to-” I didn’t really finish my words before storming back upstairs but with Hero hot on my trails, before he caught up with me my eyes had been filled up with tears and I was starting to panic as my level of fear rose.

“Claire, Claire…Claire look at me” Hero pleaded raising my head by the chin and making me face him.

“I am your king, I would never allow any harm to come to you” As plain as that might sound, it provided the comfort I needed.

“Hero, I killed those people; I’m dangerous-

“It wasn’t your fault-

“Yes it was, I shouldn’t have wreak that building-

“You are a Queen Claire, you were only trying to protect your people, they told me what you did for them and I’m just so glad on how many Ghafils you saved-

“What about the amount of humans that I killed?” Guilt lace my voice as I spoke but Hero just smiled at me and pulled me into his embrace having me automatically changing form into a human, his scent hit me and I inhaled more of him, I miss the way he smells; freshly baked strawberry cake. His scent was enough to calm my raving demons making me heaved a heavy sigh of relief, then he released me and placed his lips on mine, kissing me until my lips were both sore. The sudden clearing of throat had us pulling away from each other and looking back towards the end of the hallway I saw my family; my mom, dad, Claire and Charlie.

“We need to talk” Charlie insisted and I sighed.

“Not right now Charlie, I’m not in the mood” I replied with a tired tone.

“I know but we still need to talk…about you, about Hero, about us and what had been going on recently” My brother insisted.

“Everything that happened was all my fault; if I hadn’t hit you…you wouldn’t have gone out and you wouldn’t have been captured” My mom didn’t bother to hide the guilt in her face and voice and I just find it really soothing.

“I think after we claim you weren’t in this house…they started to hang around and watch to be certain and when you went out-

“How would they know I was alien?” I quirked a brow at Claire in question and she sighed because she knew I definitely didn’t believe her.

“Probably the same way we figured out the Ghafils during the apocalypse, the lens Mr Anderson engineered” Oh shoot, that could be right but not enough for me to trust them again.

“Claire, no matter how much I hate you, dislike or resented you…I would never do that to you” Claire promised and I searched into her eyes looking for sincerity and she was really being genuine.

“Also, are you even supposed to be with him? He forced a marriage on you and got you pregnant” I miss the protective side of my brother and he was frowning as he pointed to Hero who was arching his brows at him in reaction.

“He’s my husband and the father of my baby” I claimed and Charlie sighed shrugging his shoulders like he surrendered.

“How on earth did you revive the baby, you claim you-

“I don’t know, it was dying actually; they detected that he was in the research centre, they revived it in an attempt to remove him from him, that was when I went mad and destroy the whole building” I replied looking back at Hero who couldn’t hide the happiness in his eyes at the fact that I was carrying his baby, talking about that.

“It wasn’t this big” I suddenly declared as I moved my hand to my stomach and found out my bump was even bigger than before.

“What?” Charlie furrowed his brows while the rest of my family just narrowed their eyes at me in question.

“My baby bump…it wasn’t this big” I looked up at Hero who was now also surprised by my observation.

“How long does it take for normal alien pregnancy?” I couldn’t help asking.

“10 months” Hero replied and everyone’s eyes bulged in surprise.

“Why is it growing so fast?” I wondered out loud.
