Episode 44-Back in the house, back with Hero

I watched the hostess trembled tremendously at the sudden change of my tone.

“Can you also stay here? It’s freezing” I dropped my pitch not wanting to scare the lady who nodded to me to in understanding.

“Her highness requested the survivors be taken to a warmer place” She whispered said in a low voice that sounded almost like a whisper, though I could tell she was informing the other working members available of the ship.

“We deeply apologise-

“You should treat humans the same way you treat yourself…they are just like you, why look down on them like they are the inferior race, I would not tolerate that from you…put them in a warmer place” I said looking at the group of humans that were staring at me like I was some predator ready to roast them alive but while looking at them I noticed something else.

“What happened to your hand?” I asked one of the workers whose face was had stains of dry block and body was dirty like he was actually buried under a pile of dirt. One of his hands was so white that I’m convinced there was no blood in it, just the same as what happened with the humans around me when I released that energy, it was so strange.

“I don’t know, all I know was when the building was falling, a heavy one trapped me down to the ground after falling on me and only this arm was out, I tried using it to get myself out then a big wave pass above me and all of a sudden I can’t feel my arms anymore, I can’t move it or anything” The man had difficulty explaining as his mouth was really swollen but thankfully he could talk. I looked around to few other people around too and most of them had one or two body parts showing that effect, there was one that it affected his left part of the eye and it scares me, I tried moving close but the attendant immediately stopped me.

“It’s not safe your highness” She warned but I gave her a shrug.

“They are in my ship, trying to help them? Why would they hurt me?” I gave her a straight look and she withdrew from blocking me as I moved closer to the survivors of the facility fall studying all of their injuries, most have really been treated since they have bandages around their wounds but the others haven’t been properly treated making me gave a sad sigh.

“The heavy octa gamma radioactive ray you released was dangerous to humans, the reason why some part of the body exposed to it suddenly become irresponsive after, was because the cells couldn’t survive it, they died…meaning all those part have to removed” I turned myself towards who had suddenly gotten everyone attention by all the intelligent talks he just sputtered.

“I’m glad you’re alive…Hailey wouldn’t forgive me if you aren’t” I replied sincerely grateful he was save from the fall.

“What the essence though?” I frowned at his response and then he crawled to me to show me his pale legs, his two legs were irresponsive and dead.

“You could have been saved if you weren’t here at all, Hero would be so disappointed in you. I mean come on; he volunteered himself as a lab rat so we could defeat his race but you betrayed him and started a whole research scale turning Ghafils into lab rats” I didn’t hide the spite, disappointment and annoyance I had in my voice, because I was freaking upset about him and I feel he kinda deserved it.

“I didn’t want to continue the research either…but I had to, my daughter’s life was as stake…I didn’t have a choice they threatened me with Hailey, they knew about all of us, all of who had fought pretty hard to stop the apocalypse, they know about you Claire, they knew you and the other one of you as the person who had the greatest knowledge about the Ghafils, but they chose me…because I was a scientist. They chose to make do all these ridiculous things I’ve never thought of doing in my life, it wasn’t my fault” The older man explained with tears strolling down his face at intervals as he talked. The other people around him were giving him a weird look like what was he talking about and even the Ghafil behind me looks confused, she was a defender so she was in human form and I’m guessing she understands English but still found Professor’s Anderson’s talk garbage. I heaved a heavy sigh and turn to the convinced Ghafil behind me.

“Make them as comfortable as they can be, give them all the food and comfort they need, we’ll be dropping them off at the closest hospital in town, also…some Ghafils were in that facility, I broke them out and I don’t-

“You have nothing to worry about Queen Aira, they have been found and taken to the embassy for proper care, every Ghafil on earth are now preparing for evacuation” I didn’t know I had spoken to the air hostess in English until she replied me with one and I was super glad she wasn’t making a big deal out of it.

“Great, just make these people comfortable then” With that command, I walked away and treaded carefully the direction I had taken back to the basement, heading back to my room. A lot of things were starting to trouble me at that moment, tugging at my chest and making me nervous. I can’t help but feel angry and uneasy; could it be that trouble was coming? Humans and Ghafils are bound to face another fulltime war again after those Ghafils relayed their experiences to Hero, and also…about the facility that got exploded; the government won’t sit still as well, they would definitely retaliate.

I heaved another heavy sigh and decided not to think about the future possibilities and consequences of what actually happened back at the facility so, I decided to just take a nap and thankfully this time I was able to sleep and when I woke up, I was back in Charlie’s room. What the actual f**k? Was it Hero calling me here again? I was going to be mad if he did but as I placed my foot on the floor, I realise it was real, very real…I was back in my house. I was freaking back in my house; I calmed my raging nerves and walk as normal as I could to the sitting room, there I saw Hero, in a human form he was pretty used to, he was sitting on one chair in the kitchen, all the other people of the group back when we used to fight the apocalypse together was there as well but the only missing one was Hailey and I could guess why, even Mr. Robinson was here as Mrs. Evans…should I call her Mrs. Evans now since practically she had remarried Mr. Robinson.

“Claire” Hero’s face immediately dropped on me as I walked into the room, everyone was also looking at me now.

“Claire” My mom wanted to come running but somehow I was able to hold her back just thinking about wanting to hold her back.

“Why am I here?” I asked Hero trying to calm myself because I might eventually blew up in his face.

“You’re furious-

“Damn right I am, you brought me to the same people that gave me up to those heartless humans…did you know what they tried doing to me…they tried to remove my baby!” I finally snapped taking everyone by surprise, were they having a party before? I started to wonder as my eyes fell of plastic cups and plenty cans of sodas littering the dining table.

“They said you went for a walk and when you didn’t come back home in time they panicked and started looking for you, Claire…they are your family…you really didn’t believe they did that did you?” Hero asked narrowing her face at me before turning to my mom which I had now released, she had tears in her eyes and was covering her mouth.

“I would never do anything like that-

“I don’t care, I want to get off this planet…this instant, where’s Barb?” I suddenly questioned and my robot appeared from the crowd of humans in the house.

“Why am I even in my house I the first place?” I asked after Barb flashed me a robot smile.

“Why are you blue?” Hero questioned back and I frowned.

“I don’t know-

“Is that a baby bump I’m seeing; I thought you had a miscarriage” Tanya spoke and I sighed heavily.

“Not to be rude Tanya, I owe you no explanation…mom, dad, Claire I’m leaving…after all you’ve made it pretty obvious you don’t want me here-

“Claire mom wouldn’t do that, neither would dad-

“What about Claire? After all she wanted me gone so badly that she regretted not telling those people that I was with them when they came to ask for me-

“I wouldn’t do that, why would you think I did something like that?” Claire frowned and I scoffed.

“Can you seriously blame me, you cut me with a knife-

“It was an accident” Claire immediately defended.

“You threw a teacup at me” I quirked a brow at her as I retort and she shut her eyes tight.

“And can you blame me for not trusting mom…she pushed me and made me hit my head? My blood was literally all over the floor” I told Charlie and basically everyone was shocked, even my brother.

“I panicked-

“You really pushed her?” My brother’s voice was so low that I could hardly made his words out as he questioned my mom with a dead pan face.

“I didn’t mean to-

“But you pushed her” Hero was mad, I could see it in his eyes…he was staring dangerously at my mom and I was scared he might do something stupid.

“She was pregnant-

“I didn’t know” My mom suddenly sounded frustrated as Hero glared dangerously at her, I almost forgot how protective he was to me, this might not end well.
