Episode 41-Reviving the baby

“Let me go!” I screamed and writhed as they pinned me to a bed with nothing on but a light patient gown.

“Trust me, we are trying to help you” The man that had approached me that night assured and I screamed, I could tell he was the doctor Gael.

“You’re gonna take my baby” I fight against the buckles that was used to tie me down.

“You won’t have one if you don’t relax and let’s revive him, your foetus is dying Miss Aira, you have to let us help you” The guy’s voice was calm but it lacks the gentility of assurance, I relaxed but I was studying my environment instead, I was in a glass cube, on what looks like an operation bed, I had tons of machines around me, the glass of the cube was quite transparent so I could see that the cube was placed on a lonely long huge pillar, the cube only had an exit and the long bridge that connected it to circular corridors, escape was impossible, the fact that they don’t know I had powers yet is enough, I could just wait for them to revive my child and I’ll get my a*s out of here.

“When studying your DNA, I confirmed you’re a very rare type of alien, The Ghafils had four races two which are extinct and the other two are dominant. In your blood sample, I figured you are from two rare races, the Blue Ghafil and the white Ghafil…it’s amazing. Also I figured an unknown body in you, that’s fusing with your blood platelets and the blood of your baby…it’s reconstructing and regenerating your blood in an amazing way, and from examination this thing was infused into your body…do you know what that is and why did you passed it into your body, I believe it’s the cause of your dying Child. Is it poison that you took or you’re trying to get rid of the baby?” The doctor I recognised to be doctor palmer from the sound of his voice questioned.

“I wouldn’t harm my child” That was all I told him. Before he turned to me, he was also an older man who I’m guessing would be in his early forties, he had a blonde hair, scanty eyebrow hairs, large crooked nose, and heavy lips and wrinkled cheeks; he looks Hideous in one statement.

“We’ve been studying other types of Ghafils, the warrior, defenders and singers but this is the first time I’m studying a royal, I wonder if it’s really true you have powers?” I inwardly scoffed before him and his team of three other scientists all dress in lab coats get closer. I felt a needle pricked my neck and I winced as they injected me.

“That’s a painkiller, it’ll make the process less painful…it’s for your own good. At least let us help your baby” Doctor Palmer assured and I felt my body relaxed while something wet and slick was spread across my stomach, I felt my strength left me when I turned to the ultrasound machine across my bed to see the image of my child, it made me smile to know he was still in there.

“Looks like a boy” Doctor Palmer announced as the images move in response to the moving device on my stomach.

“He’s not moving” I noticed, the baby was supposed to be making movement…even if it’s just the twitch of his fingers.

“Soon, soon enough” Doctor Palmer assured as he disconnected the machine and put on his gloves. He was passed the defibrillator and I tensed though I was still very weak.

“This might stung a little” He warned as he placed the pads of the machine on my stomach, then his other team started inputting something on the machine where the pads were attached to. The first shock came as a surprise and I let out a surprise scream after Palmer shouted charge. Then his fingers goes sideways to my stomach as he slowly moved them, he shook his head and sighed.

“We are gonna go again” He warned and I nodded suddenly feeling my heartbeat racing, I withstand the second, third and forth shock but I almost couldn’t move on how weak I got afterwards then when Dr. Palmer was cross examining with his fingers, his eyes widened and he immediately connected the ultrasound again, and this time I saw my baby move. I felt very happy but then the pain started and I started to scream.

“What’s wrong with her?” Dr. Gael asked has they watched me writhe in pain, there was also involuntary jacks from my stomach and I could tell it wasn’t just me in pain, my baby could feel it too. I screamed as I felt every part of me reforming, I felt it as my iris dilated, I felt it as my senses heightened I felt every single thing. I screamed again as the other doctors stand back completely sure of what to do.

“When we shocked her body, we created enough electricity to make the fusion of the foreign body in her system to completely fuse with her blood; it’s changing her from the inside-

“Reconstructing her DNA” Dr. Palmer completed for one of the other doctors that voiced in the room while they all watch as I scream and my body changed colour from pale white to blue, I grew suddenly had five fingers instead of the normal four.

“This is spectacular, she’s the closest thing to human, whatever that is in her system we have to get it…we’ll take the child in due session and extract the pigments in her DNA, if we could manage to retrieve the contents…we should be able to replicate it and use it on the other Ghafils” Dr. Palmer really shouldn’t be saying that so close to me. The pain finally stopped and I felt back into the bed, Dr. Palmer hesitated to move close but did anyway. He reconnected the ultrasound and I caught the glimpse of my moving baby at the corner of my eyes.

“The baby is fine” Dr. Palmer announced and turned to the rest of his team.

“Move her to the grand floor, I want about 10 blood samples, take it to the upper lab and after two weeks, we should be preparing for the foetus removal” I felt an intense anger grabbed me and the buckles of my arms ripped off.

“You’re really talking about taking my baby while I am behind you…did you by chance think of me that feeble?” I laughed as my body slowly lifted from the bed and I floated back in air.

“I am not just any Ghafil Dr. Palmer. I am…the queen” Their eyes widened in horror rather than shock.

“We could have stayed together some more perhaps, if you weren’t talking about removing my child"

“The heavy dose of sedative you gave me was burned off by my body system I suppose, and as the other doctor suggested, you really did complete the chemical process left to be done in my blood with the amount of charge you sent throughout my body, I am a human, as well as a Ghafil, it will shock you just how much I know” I smirked as my body started to radiate a bluish purple light that hit the cube with great force and sent it shattering making all the team of doctors immediately cover up to avoid been pierced by the pieces.

“That’s impossible-

“You really think 18 by18 thick silicate glass could hold me” I laughed.

“You’ll have to do better than that” I added before willing Palmer out of the way by just moving my hand. I floated past them and moved to the bridge.

“I won’t harm you, if you cooperate” I repeated the same line they had told me to keep me in check.

“You really think you can escape…this place is buried 100 feet underground” I smiled at the smug look on Palmer’s feet.

“You really don’t know what you’ve done did you? You unlocked my greatest potential” I said making energy blasts in my hand. I floated across to the entrance that lead to the main facility, then destroyed the bridge with the heavy energy blast from me before I gave the doctors one last look and tried to leave but the door needed a security pass. Right from across where I was, I willed Palmer to float across to my side so I could use his retina scan.

“You make any stupid mistake and I’ll drop you” I warned and he looked down at the dark hollow hole, there was definitely nothing down there, the only thing that could be seen standing was nothing but the ground the broken cube perfectly stood and the pillar that was solely standing in the middle.

I made a purple force field around Doctor Palmer that kept him up while he opened the door for me.

“Don’t even think about it” I warned as he intended to press the big red alarm button. I sent him flying back to the cube and exit the room only to meet five security guards stationed there. I sent them all flying around before taking one of their IDs and walking down the whole, My senses have ridiculously heightened and I could feel the agony and pain of the other Ghafils around, I moved to their holding cells and walked down the hallway that separated opposite cells, they studied me intensely before they bow.

“My queen” They all spoke in chorus, the glass separating them would have made their word inaudible but somehow I could still hear what they said. I inhaled deeply and screamed out sending an energy blast that broke off they barrier glasses but the alarm went off and I could feel they release excess oxygen into the building. It must have been the system they designed. I exhaled then closed my eyes as I started to radiate heavy waves that set the oxygen flow into one direction, I redirected it out through the vent and was about leaving when my eyes fell on someone familiar.

“Mr. Anderson?” I voiced as a man came running with different tube like stuffs in his hand.
