Josh’s POV
Fresh tears brimmed from her eyes she was shaking like a leaf. “I think you’re just lying so that you can hurt me even further, I don’t believe you. My brother in law would never do something like that, never.” She continued to protest refusing to believe any of it.
I liked it when she made that statement because I knew that it was going to turn into anger the moment she saw the video I was about to show her. I wanted to see her get riled up with anger enough to push her to want to fight back. I know this might sound weird, but the drive for vengeance is fueled by anger, and a lot of it must I say.
I pulled out the camera and turned it on and passed it on to her. She watched it frowning now and then, soon fear traced her face, then more tears continued to pour out of her eyes. To say her sobs turned to anger instantly will be an understatement, she was furious. Her cheeks were trembling along with her lips quivering.
In that video she could see her nephews happily playing around with their father, it wasn't an old video she could tell they had on them the same haircut that they had when they were kidnapped. Aimee sobbed so hard it made me feel so bad. She watched as Kevin, the eldest ran up to his dad and asked, “Daddy, when is mommy coming back?” He is only 7years of age. His little brother is 4 years old. They are so young to have to go through all this. Little Elliot snuggled on his dad’s lap and also cried, “yeah papa, Elliot miss mommy” and his eyes glistened with tears.
Aimee cried even the more when she saw her nephews’ eyes turning red. She frantically wiped off her tears. “Mommy is on a long trip, she might take many months or even years. However... " He said gathering them into his lap, hugging them then he smirked, "she said she won’t tell us but will surprise us all when she comes.” He lied through his teeth.
I know a parent cannot outright tell their kid that their mom or dad had died but even a blind person could tell that this guy wasn't remorseful and did not care about the missing wife at all. He didn't even pretend he just lied to his kids.
“I’m going to kill him” she shouted with the look of pure anger all over her face as she tossed the camera to me. “Well that would be good enough punishment for the heartless bastard, after torturing him first though but… I don’t see how you’re going to do that in that shape." I said looking at her from head to toes to provoke her even the more. She sneered at me. " How are you also going to go past that security that you just saw on the video? The place is like a barricaded Army camp. Do you think they’re going to welcome you and say oh wow! Look who came to check in on us, welcome dear Aimee without killing you at first glance?” I said so to aggravate her anger.
“Those bastards are waiting to get rid of you if you try showing up without thought or plan. Have you heard of your sister’s body having been found anywhere yet? No, because they threw it away in a place where nobody can discover it that easily. Even if you try to seek police protection, they just might bribe their way to you and silence you. That's how rotten your so called brother in law is. You will need proper training and expertise for you to defeat them.” I advised.
I looked at her to check if my words had any effect on her and surely they had much effect. She jolted her head towards me and frantically wiped her tears with the back of her hands and looked me in the eye. I knew right then and there that I had gotten to her. It’s not like I was enjoying her pain but I like it when I see someone zealous for revenge. Shoot me for wanting to rid the world of such devils.
“Jo-Josh…” she stuttered getting hold of my hand. Her hands felt cold over my warm ones. “Yes?” I said giving her my full attention. “Wo-would you-you h-help me avenge my sister and take my nephews back from that monster?” finally she asked.
I frowned a bit, in a bid to exert her the more so I could see her determination. “Why do you think I would be able to help you?” I asked still frowning. “Because…” she started but paused. “I saw how you were training. I believe you got skills. You could train me then we can fight along? Please! Besides, if you were able to take that video and came back unscathed, it means you have the expertise you said I will need” she said without even flinching.
I was impressed. She is a smart girl. She is teacheable. She is trainable. Though I had never trained women before, I see the fire in her eyes as she speaks and I know she will do me proud. “Are you certain that this is what you want, can you handle rigorous training?” I asked her trying to see how badly she wanted this. She frantically shook her head in the affirmative. “The training can be very hard and long, perseverance is the key. Are you willing to endure all the pain and everything you will have to endure?” I asked her.
