Chapter 6 STELLA’S POV FEW WEEKS LATER. As I said earlier, that was the last interview I was going to. I was done undergoing so much torture emotionally as I tried to determine if I got the job or not or when doing the interview part. I was just so done.   I had to create my own job and try to make it out there. Good thing is that I had some marketing skills with me. I was definitely going to make it in the very end.   I had some money saved in my account by my dad when he was still alive. Well, he was a philosopher and he worked in the Government Buildings just before he died.   I was going to use that as my capital. I did my research and I teamed up with my cousin Faith who had done some IT course and we would use both of our skills to start a cyber Café business. If job is not available and the ones offering it want you to sleep on your way up, then you can as well start your own business.   My mother was totally in my support and in this very day, I was going to meet up with Faith so that we could discuss all about the business.   I prepared and borrowed my mother’s car leaving the house. We were going to talk over coffee in Java and since I was those good people, I reached way ahead before time.   She was not late either. She come just right in time as we had agreed and thus we stared discussing how our business will go on.   We agreed on so many things and wrote down all the requirements we needed to start the business.   After this, we went for house hunting and we were so lucky to find a house at a good spot in town. We went to the manufacturers and some big stores which included electronic shops and we bought all the necessities starting from the printers, photocopiers, some ream papers among other important necessities. Faith was so cooperative and she brought her share of the money. She was so easy to work with. The next set of weeks were so tiring, starting from settling in and hustling for some customers. Good thing it was close to some health collage and we didn’t lack some money for upkeep and paying rent.   Our business grew all through the six months and by the time the politicians started looking at the best place to get the banners for the campaigns, they were easily referred to us.   Starting a business is not that easy. There are some ups and downs but in the long end, it is really worth the hustle.   This is just a normal day. Our cyber café is doing so well, in fact we have added more staff to help us. There is one graphical designer and the other one was doing the typing work. Faith worked hand in hand with the graphic designer while me on the other hand, I worked in the marketing and finances of the business.   Some upcoming politicians were coming in to leave the orders with their campaign banners and this really got us lot of money to be honest.   It was late, at around 6.00pm. Faith had left early to look for some more printing paper and the other staff members had left too. I was in the cyber café typing in some finances for the day when someone knocked slightly on the door It was past our opening time so I just mumbled, we are closed come back tomorrow.   The guy insisted on knocking therefore I had to get the door that was closed from inside. I should help him, now that it was a man’s voice speaking. The customers deserve our attention no matter what and I had to help them this particular time.   I opened the door swiftly now that he couldn’t stop knocking and I was totally shocked when I saw him standing on the door. My eyes grew wide open in thunderstruck and I bet my heart stopped beating for a few seconds.   “Erman,” I gasped lightly.   “Stella!” He replied.   “What are you doing here?” That Is the first question that come to my mid so I asked him.   “I am here to look for a banner. I heard that this cyber café make the best banners,” He scoffed.   “You are definitely right. You are the right place,” I etched a smile permanently here.   “You are working here?” He implored.   “Not really, I own the place,” I felt confident saying this.   “Wow, that is nice. “ He appreciated me.   “So, whose banner do you want to make? I can do that for you tomorrow if you don’t have a picture that is. I will note what you need first in my Diary first and that is the first thing I am going to do tomorrow morning,” I explained to him.   “Actually, I am here to make my banner,” He said and that shocked me.   “What?” I jutted my eyebrows up in surprise.   “Yea, I am going to run for the Governor position,” He jested and his assertiveness said he was so sure of himself   This even shocked me further.   “Really, well that is big,” I said after I finally found the right words to say to him.   “Yea, but I can really do this. With a good banner from you. “He said so sure of myself.   “Well, I don’t know what to stay. This has gotten me by surprise,” I confessed.   “Just wish me all the luck. I really need that,” He jested.   “I wish you all the luck then,” My heart was beating twice the usual speed.   “Thank you, I guess I will give you what I need for my banner,” He tattled.   “Of course, “I nodded and took out my diary.   “Just write, Erman Rommel, Vying for a Governor. My theme is, I will do everything for the people,” He said as I jotted it down despite my hand trembling due to shock.   “Then I guess we will meet tomorrow,” I told him.   “Yea sure. Can I drive you home? I can see darkness is creeping in and it will also be a way of saying thanks to you for attending to me when I was working late,” He suggested and even though I wanted to turn him down, I was unable to.   “Yea okay,” I nodded and placing the diary back to the drawer.   “It will also be a good time to catch up. It has really been long,” He recalled.   “Yea right,” I didn’t know what else to say.   I closed the shop after taking my handbag and got to his car. Since my business started getting stable, I stopped using my mother’s car because she also used it to run her errands. I depended on taxi right as I was planning to buy my own car. I afforded it so I can’t complain. Now that Erman is dropping me home, I have successfully saved some cash.   “Get in,” Erman pointed after opening the door of the car for me.   “Thanks,” I got to his car and he ran over the other side to get to the driver’s seat.   “It has really been long. “ He said steering the car out of the parking lot.   “Yea, I guess so,” I said.   “You have grown beautiful from the last time I saw you,” He confessed.   “Well, thank you,” I forced a laugh. I was trying to act calm. Of course I wouldn’t be flirting with him. I was done with men after Caleb. I didn’t want to suffer a heartbreak again.   “Your boyfriend should be very lucky to have you,” He sighted and I blew several breaths. I was not going to tell him that I don’t have one though. It was not his business.   “Which boyfriend,” He threw me a look and well, I had to say something.   “Which one? Does that mean that you have many boyfriends other than the one you were with at the train center,” He implored.   “Well, honestly I have none. Turn right or else you will miss my home,” I instructed him and he did as I said.   “What do you mean you have none?” He implored.   “Well, that day when we got home, he broke up with me,” I figured that I should just tell him what happened.   “But why?” He asked.   “Park here. That is my hose over there,” I pointed and he parked.   “Don’t avoid my question. Why did you break up with him?” He asked.   “Well, I broke up with him because of you Erman,” I looked him in the eye saying this.
