STELLA’S POV
“Come closer,” Erman begged right after I told him what happened between me and Caleb.
“I have to go inside, my mother is waiting for me,” I lied.
“Please don’t lie to me, I can see in your eyes that you want to come to me,” He urged.
Despite knowing that it is wrong to go near him. I did go close to him. Erman makes my heart beat two times the usual speed and today is no exception. I feel drawn to him like a moth to a flame.
“Do you regret?” He implored and I jutted my eyebrow up in surprise.
“Regret what?” I asked him staring at my fingers.
“Regret this,” He lifted my face up with his palm and his yes met mine. Before I could say no or anything of that sort, he pulled me into a kiss. I felt his tongue flick against mine, his hand going round my lower back. The contact that we had sent a wave of sweet shivers inhabiting my entire body from the tip of my hair to the smallest toe of my feet.
It was long since I had a kiss, it is years down the line and I couldn’t lie that I needed it more than a drowning man needing help and air.
Remembering that it was him that I was kissing, I pulled from him of course after trying to kiss him back for a few seconds.
“Don’t do that ever again,” I warned him as my heart started beating twice the normal speed.
“You didn’t look like you mean what you have just said when I was kissing you,” He countered.
“I have to go okay, bye,” I said and fastened my steps away from him. I don’t really understand why when it comes to him, I do things that I had not intend on doing.
I fastened my steps but I could not miss when he said that he was coming the next day so that we could come up with his campaign banner.
This made me cringe. How was I going to be around him? This man clearly brought a side of me that is wild. A side that I cannot control.
I didn’t look back till I got to my house. I rang the doorbell and waited for my mum to get it for me.
“You are late today,” My mother noted.
“Yeah, I had a late customer this late and I had to attend to them. You know that rule, customers come first,” I jested as I hanged my jacket at one of the hooks by the door.
I went to the kitchen and drank some water draining it in some seconds.
“Seems like it was a long day to you,” My mother continued snooping around.
“Maybe I did because I have found this man who drive me nuts. I know he is wrong for me but I found myself wanting more from him,” I chose to be honest with my mother.
“Please don’t rush it,” She warned. She always loved to get involved in my life and I can’t complain. We are just the two of us in this world. My dad died some years ago and since I was the only child, we were just the two of us.
“I know mother, but I don’t know why heart is fond of him. Anyway dot worry, I will take things slow. Trust me on this,” I jested a small smile gracing my face.
“You should,” She added and I excused myself walking to my bedroom.
I removed my cloths and walked into the bathroom. As the warm water cascaded down my body with my eyes tightly closed, I found myself thinking of his soft lips. The way he touched me and heat seeped through my skin as if I was made of paper.
Erman was just someone I wouldn’t run away from. I knew I shouldn’t be with him because he was the one who caused the breakup with me and Caleb but my body craved him. I wanted him to kiss me again and again and he should not stop even for a moment.
I joined my mom for dinner after wearing a pair of short and tank top with some flip flops on. It was relaxing now that she did not talk about Erman after I told her about me falling for someone. I needed to distract myself from him, but it was going to be a hard nut to c***k since I am going to meet him again, tomorrow.
**
My alarm went off at exactly 7.00am in the morning. I hit the shower and brushed my teeth. I got back to my room and dressed up in a maroon dress that mostly showed my curvaceous body and some small cleavage.
I did some light makeup and tied my hair into a neat bun. I needed to look good for him when he comes by the shop today.
I wore some heels from the usual flats and I crossed my fingers that someone should never ever note that I was dressing up for a man and that is Erman.
“You look so different,” My mother told me as I served myself some tea.
“Please don’t start. It is not every day that I dress up to feel good about myself. So please mother, wish me all the best as I head to work,” I told her.
“All the best Stella. You know for sure that I always want the best for you,” She jested.
“Thanks mama,” I mumbled.
By the time I was done with breakfast, a taxi was waiting for me to take me to work. I rushed and got to it. I love being in time today is no exception.
I checked my emails the entire ride till I we got to my workplace. I paid the taxi driver and got out of the car.
The cyber was already opened thanks to Fay. As I was walking to the main door, his voice eased to my ears.
“You look very beautiful today,” Erman complemented me and I hid from his face so that he would never know that I was so happy with his complement.
“Well, I dress like this every day. Don’t think I have dressed this way so as to please you or something like that,” I don’t know why I had to spill the tea.
“Well, I had not thought of that. Come to think of it, maybe you really dressed up for me darling, didn’t you,” He sounded persistent.
“Please stop talking already,” I told him walking into the cyber.
“Hi Fay,” I greeted her as I placed my handbag on the shelf.
“This man was here quite early. I wanted to help him but he insisted that you are the only person that is going to attend to him,” Fay explained.
“Did he?” My eyebrows jutted up in surprise.
“Yes he did, please attend to him,” Fay urged and I turned to face Erman. His looks made me lose my focus but I tried my very best to look put together.
“Come this way Mr. Erman,” I directed.
“Yes sweet Stella,” He followed me in my office and by calling me sweet, I knew he was already getting flirty with me.
When he sat in an opposite chair from him, my eyes raked at his perfect body in that suit. His beard were well shaved and he looked perfect to me and also to be the Governor of this town. He has really charming and I can now understand why I trip about him so much.
“The first thing you are going to do is to let our professional photographer take a good picture of you,” I told him.
“Since I wanted only you, and I mean it Stella, then you should be in the room with me. Your presence gives me more confidence,” The moment he said this, I felt my heart rippling in joy.
“Alright, since you are one of our esteemed customers, why not. I will do everything to ensure that you are comfortable and you get the best of our services,” I explained to him and he was in a broad smile.
“Alright sweet Stella,” He mumbled.
“Will you stop calling me Sweet Stella? Just call me Stella” I jested.
“You are generally sweet, especially your lips. I can’t wait to kiss them again,” He said on my face and I blinked several times.
“Honestly, you are so pretty,” He said this getting off his chair and coming towards where I was seated.
I knew I should have stopped him when he leaned in to kiss me but I didn’t.
I parted my lips instead and was ready to kiss him back but the door opened and we jumped aside. On the door way was Faith whose face had turned pink due to the embarrassment of walking into us when we wanted to kiss.
“My bad,” She quivered and I smiled sheepishly feeling embarrassed too.
