His Mated Princess

Some Information

Waverly's POV

I walk into my room and look around taking in the sight. My mother and I have been living here for 5 years but never in the main house. Uncle Thorn let us live in a small cabin like close to the edge of the Pack Land until this year when he had named me his heir apparent.

When we moved in I was given my own room and bathroom. I had never had my own room before. I have always shared one with Mom since it was just us. I place my backpack on my desk and head toward the bathroom so I could wash my face.

I quickly turn the water on and splash the cold water in my face then pat my face dry. I caught my reflection in the mirror and thought over everything that happened today.

Was Kaden really my mate or was my body just going through a weirdness phase? Did I want him to be my mate? Do I even want a mate? Even if I had a mate would my mate love me for me or would he just love me for the Crown?

I look away from my reflection and turn off the bathroom light as I head back into my bathroom. I jump a little when I see my Mom sitting on my bed. I place a hand on my heart as if to keep it in my chest, " Momma you startled me."

She gives me an inoocent smile then pats the bed, " Come tell me about your first day little one."

I sit down next to her and place my head on her shoulder while she strokes my hair gently. I sigh a little, "Well it was okay. There was some whispers but it stopped around lunch."

She continued playing with my hair, " Did you meet any people and make friends?"

I look at her and take in her looks. My mother is beautiful. She is tall and lean with long blonde hair and blue eyes. I was always told I got my hair and eye color from my father. I shake my head, "Not really. I met some people but didn't really have a chance to meet anyone."

She stops playing with my hair, " Wave, Keaton told me about some boy you were talking to outside of the school and that you may have met your mate?"

I bite my lip. Reminder to myself to injure Keaton next time we spar. I answer, " Yes to both. The boy I was speaking to was Dean."

She perks up a little, " Is this Dean your 'possible' mate?"

I shake my head again, " No his twin brother might be."

She stands up so fast and turns to look at me, " Twins. The only pack in our area that has twins is the Shadow Pack. You are talking about the Alpha's sons?"

I nodded as my mother began to pace.

I had never known her to pace or to sound so upset about something. She finally stops moving and drops to her knees in front of me. She places her hands on mine, " We must verify that one of the pups is your mate but if one of them is then we must speak to your Uncle about this."

I am slightly confused, " I know that our pack has some issues with them. I also know that their father is the Elder of the Council. So why what is so wrong?"

She gives me a heartbreaking sad look, " Waverly, did you know Keaton is your Uncle Thorn's second chance mate?"

I give her a puzzled look, " I thought Keaton was his only mate!"

My mother smirks a little, " No Wave. Keaton is a second chance mate. Long ago, before the Goddess named Thorn, King of Wolves, your Uncle was mated to the Beta of the Falling Star Pack his name was Miles. A year after they were mated, the Shadow Pack was attacked by the Western Raider Pack. They killed Miles and numerous other wolves. Your Uncle was devasted by the loss of his mate and almost killed himself. The day Keaton randomly came running through the Pack Land was the day Thorn came back to life. Little did we know that Keaton was from the Shadow Pack or that he was the brother of their Luna. Apparently Luna Kelly had set up an arranged marriage for Keaton, he was suppose to marry Dinah of the River Run Pack."

I gasp a little, " What happened once they found out that Keaton adn Uncle Thorn were mates?"

She looked away, " They hated the union. They wanted Keaton to reject Thorn and to marry Dinah but Keaton was in love with Thorn. He told them he would rather be rejected from the family than reject Thorn. Your Uncle works closely with Alpha Kennedy but he keeps his guard up at all times and keeps Keaton away from them."

I finally get why Keaton is so unfriendly with any member from the Shadow Pack. I look down at my hands that are in a death like grip by my mother, " So what do I do if he is my mate?"

I hear her sigh heavily, " Before going through with the mating ritual get to know him. See if he is only trying to be with you for the Crown. In the end it is your choice if you want to be with him or not. I will not allow someone to force you to do something you don't wanna do."

She kisses the top of my head and then leaves my room. I slam my back onto my bed and close my eyes trying to absorb everything my mother just told me.

After a few minutes I look at my clock and notice how late it is. I need to shower then go find somthing to eat then go to bed. I have another day of hell known as school tomorrow.
