Stella–POV The man stood abruptly, locking eyes with me. "You must be Stella Keller," he drawled, his voice dripping with malice. I nodded hesitantly, taken aback by his sudden recognition. His smirk sent shivers down my spine, and a wave of fear washed over me as he closed the gap between us. "Many would like to see you dead, Stella. You carry a child that threatens our kind significantly," he said ominously. Panicking, I shot back, "Who are you? And how did you get into my room?" I scanned the room for an escape route. Before I could reach the doorknob, his hand whipped out, pinning me against the wall. I struggled, desperately trying to free myself. "You should've died just like we killed your husband, Kellan. That Lycan bastard was nothing but trouble," he hissed. "We wolves have established dominance. But with you pregnant, things have become more... complicated." His sinister grin widened as his fangs elongated, nearing my vulnerable neck. Fear gripped me. Suddenly, a window shattered, drawing my attention. A guttural groan escaped from my assailant's lips. In a swift motion, another man lunged, swiftly incapacitating the one threatening me. Gasping for air, my vision cleared, revealing my attacker dead, his neck twisted at an unnatural angle. My heart raced, and I let out a terrified scream. "Calm down, Stella," a calm voice said. I looked up into familiar green eyes. "Kellan? But you... How?" My voice trembled. He swiftly picked me up. "I'll explain everything, but first, we must get you to safety." We exited the room, avoiding the gathering crowd, undoubtedly drawn by the commotion. Once in his car, I asked myself, "Kellan, why fake your death? How did you know about the baby? And how are you a Lycan?" Kellan drove, his eyes darting, ever vigilant for threats. A car began tailing us. As Kellan picked up speed, he said, "Hold on, Stella. This road's about to get bumpy." We veered into a forested area, the uneven terrain making it harder for our pursuers to follow. Soon, we emerged with a stunning view of a gleaming city ahead. "We're safe now," he whispered, seeing my relief. "Are you okay?" I nodded, still processing everything. "Where are we, Kellan?" He sighed, "This is the Lycan pack territory. But my name isn't Kellan. It's Damon." Before I could react, a familiar face greeted me. "Stella!" Julie exclaimed, holding hands with a handsome man. "Meet my mate, Dexter Kenji." I was dumbfounded, "Julie, your parents are sick with worry! What's happening, and why are you staying here?" Before Julie began to explain, but was interrupted by Damon. "First, we need to get you medical attention." Soon, I was being treated for my injuries. Whenever I glanced at Damon, I felt like Kellan was staring back. Once checked, Damon escorted me to a luxurious manor. "I'm Kellan's twin brother, Stella," Damon revealed. "He often spoke of you." "So, Kellan was a Lycan too?" I asked, piecing things together. Damon sighed, "Kellan had Lycan blood but couldn't shift. Our mother was human, but I inherited our father's traits." "But why did Kellan hide all of this from me?" I pressed, seeking answers. Damon's eyes clouded with sorrow, hinting at deeper, painful truths yet to be unveiled.
