“Felicity!” Sean’s voice echoed across the whole floor. I have just exited the lift carrying the files I printed on the 15th floor. I had to wait in line because the photocopying machine on their floor is broken and the one I used is fully packed as always.
Ugh! What is it again? It’s not even been a day since he's been in a good mood at lunch. Now he’s rampaging like a raging bull.
A handsome raging bull that is. I couldn’t help but commend him as he stands in front of his office with his hands on his waist looking royally pissed. With his brows on a knot and his lips on a thin line, he looked f*****g hotter.
I shook my head to clear my mind of the unnecessary compliments.
“What the f**k are you still standing there for?” He yelled and I flinched. Damn! Why the heck is he yelling? What is he in a hurry for? I eyed everyone on the floor whose eyes are on me. I saw Anna motioned me to go to him already with her big bulging eyes. I could see how everyone is on the edge with Sean’s temperament.
It’s easy for her but not for me damn it! Why should I always be the sacrificial lamb?
I inhaled deeply and slowly released the air that filled my lungs before I walked towards Sean who turned and went inside his office, slamming the door behind him.
I knocked before I pulled the door open with my trembling hands.
“Sorry, I had to go downstairs to…” I was cut short with my explanation. I found myself being pulled in, the door being shut close behind me. The files that I had meticulously compiled all fell and scattered on the carpeted floor. My face landed on Sean’s strong chest.
I looked up to him confused and shocked only to be more appalled. He slithered his arms around my waist as his other hand slipped to the back of my head.
“What…” I didn’t get to finish my question because he captured my wide-open lips. He pulled me closer until I feel like being crushed under his arms but I wasn’t bothered by that. The moment his lips touched mine, all my sanity flew out of the window. He expertly moved his lips against mine and I opened them to him more. He didn’t waste the chance and slid his tongue inside, tasting and teasing mine until I responded.
Yes! With equal fervor, I kissed him back. I let go of my inhibitions. I can’t think straight; no, I don’t want to think at all.
I found myself moaning as his touch burn through the fabric of my shirt as it slid down and cup my bottom. I pushed myself closer to him feeling the need to have more. His kisses were like honey, sweet, and addicting. His touch, like a fire burning every inch of my body.
“Sean…” I moaned his name when I felt his member on my belly. As if on instinct, my honeypot welled with my juice.
“So ready for me already, Felicity?” He whispered as his kisses shifts to the corner of my jaw and slides down to my neck where my mark should be.
Wait… f**k!
I pulled myself away from him and anchored my hands on his chest but he tightened his grip around me.
“Don’t move. You’ll fall.” He said, his words hoarse with desire. I didn’t even notice that I was already straddling him as he sat on his table.
Goodness! I thought I just was floating!
“P-put me down.” I tried to make my voice sound firm but even I wasn’t convinced.
“Why should I?” His eyebrow raised at the same time with the corner of his lips. “ You look comfortable in here and hotter by the way.” He looked at me with eyes still laced with… desire?
Does he want me really? Am I not just seeing things?
My face burned as a shift in my gaze. “I-I… this is not right. Why did you kiss me? Why are we doing this?” I looked back at him. My heart is pounding inside my chest as I waited for him to answer.
He looked me in the eyes with the same confusion before it became cold and aloof. With little effort, he put me down. He walked to his minibar and pour himself a drink.
“Why don’t you answer my question, Sean?”
“I don’t have to explain it to you.” He said coldly then gulped down a glass of scotch like it’s water.
That’s it? That’s the only answer he can give me?
“Then why the f**k do you do this to me? Did you call me here just to harass me? You don’t just kiss and make out with anyone who enters that door!”
“Tsk.” He wakes back to his desk. “Don’t think too highly of yourself Felicity. I didn’t kiss you because you’re special. I kissed you because I smelled your scent.”
“Scent? What scent?”
“Have you forgotten? You’re in heat and I’m an unmated wolf.” He tilted his head and leaned back to his chair.
“In heat? But I…” Is it the time of the month? I didn’t even know what he meant by getting in heat like a wolf because I have never experienced that yet. It’s true though that on instinct, unmated wolves go crazy horny when they smell a female in heat. But I didn’t even feel anything unusual.
“Why? Don’t tell me, Gregory didn’t know when you’re in need?”
“H-he does.” I lied.
“You’ve always been a bad liar, Felicity.”
“Huh?” s**t! He noticed! Ugh! Of course, he’ll notice. I’ve totally forgotten to hide my neck.
He smirked at me and ask, “Tell me, why didn’t Gregory mark you yet?” He asked what I dreaded to hear. Everyone in the pack knew I was living with Gregory. They all think I’m his mate. I wanted to correct it, but Gregory said it’ll be better if they think that way so they won’t bother him with questions as to why he took me in.
“He didn’t have to. I’m human after all. He can’t mark me or I’ll die.” I answered with the best excuse I can think of at that moment. It wasn’t a lie after all.
“Of course.” He murmured. He stood and went to the door. “Clean that mess and confirm my attendance at the fashion show.”
“I’ll go home and get ready.”
“No. You don’t have to accompany me there.”
“But I thought… you said I have to go with you, that’s why I bought a dress.”
“I’m going with Aurora. Go straight home. I don’t want to smell your filthy scent.” That and he stormed right out the door without looking back.
That’s good he didn’t look back. I didn’t have to hold back the tears that raced down my cheeks because of his words.
