Revelations Pt. 7

Did everyone know we were mates except me? UGH! I watched Malachi touch Annie. She teleported him away. It made that pop sound I’d heard around Immy. She wasn’t jumping out windows or shimming pipes. She teleported. I asked Tatum, “Can we do that?” Tatum snorted, “No, that’s fairies.” Damn. That was cool. Suddenly the woman I’d seen in the past was there with Eric. There were others who looked like him. The base of my spine tingled. Tatum purred. I looked like them. No….it couldn’t be. My eyes were drawn to Keaton.

He made me breakfast in bed. Everything was just perfect. I wanted to apologize. I tried but I was hit. Keaton was furious. I’d never heard him so angry, but I felt perfectly happy. Sassy and Tatum were very happy with his defense of us. I grumbled at them both, “We don’t need to be wet right now. We can’t have s*x at this moment so…cool it.” They both huffed at me. Yeah well, now my underwear was soaking wet and I was sexually frustrated. That was their fault. They called Keaton an Alpha. Despite the situation. I smiled. I was proud of my mate. He was a strong man.

They wanted Keaton to give them two million dollars. My jaw dropped. I mean…who would pay that for me? To my astonishment Eric agreed. Just like that. That made them reconsider. They made it twenty million. I wanted Caspian. Sassy started screaming that song our family sang to calm me down, but it made me want them more. I didn’t think anyone had twenty million to give for me. I mentally repeated, “Melanie is coming. Melanie is coming.”

To my astonishment Eric agreed again. To pay twenty million dollars. I couldn’t have been more shocked by anything else. I could accept that the supernatural’s existed, but this man who didn’t know me….was willing to save me at great personal expense. Tatum whispered, “Odette…” I didn’t want to think about it. Because I was certain Eric was my brother, on my dad’s side. Tatum said, “You realize that makes us related to Melanie. Aunt by marriage.” I nearly laughed out loud. That was really funny. Howls rang out. I smirked. I looked up and winked at Keaton. He moved towards the screen. I mouthed, “I’m coming home, Key. I love you.” I felt the key in my hand. Delana was moving out the door. I quickly undid the cuffs.

I heard Melanie come in. I ran to the door. I turned to see her in wolf form. She was glowing yellow. Tatum growled. I wanted to help her. She gave me a look. I gritted my teeth. Tatum growled, “We are an alpha wolf. We can help.” I said, “We have no training. We need to follow the plan.” Sassy huffed too. I spun on my heel and ran. I heard snarling and clothes shredding. I made it to the door when I heard the buzzing sounds and teeth hitting and grinding on each other. She really could electrocute people. Maybe I could too.

I made it outside. Delana was standing there waiting. I ran to her. She smiled. A wolf snarled at us. She put me behind her. Tatum pushed forward in my head and snarled loudly. The wolf backed off. Before we could do anything else. Melanie’s wolf was there. She growled menacingly. I looked around. We were being surrounded. Delana noticed what I did. Then I saw it. A hot spring. Caspian said I just needed to wish for him. I yelled, “Follow me!” I ran for the spring. We were being chased. I grabbed Delana’s hand. Melanie’s wolf scooped us onto her back. I yelled, “The hot spring!” Delana yelled, “WHAT?!” Melanie just listened. She took off. We were there in a flash. I closed my eyes yelling, “CASPIAN!” I wished to be with him harder than I ever had.

I felt the water hit me as Melanie dove in. I saw the door. Delana stared at me in shock. I grabbed them and pulled them through. We were falling for what felt like thirty minutes. I screamed as we plopped out of the water portal onto the hard ground below us. Melanie had shifted back. She had clothes on, so the books got that wrong. We all landed on our butts. I looked around. Oh no. I didn’t recognize this place. I wished for Caspian. Did I get it wrong? Was this the Merrick’s? Where were we? Sassy hissed annoyedly when tritons were pointed at the three of us. Melanie growled and Delana hissed too. What had I done?
