Unwanted Mate
Jeremy
After we left the club I took huge steps to get as far from her as I could. I wanted to leave to avoid her and I just stood so close to her. My wolf fought with me he wanted to forget our hate towards humans, or at least towards this human, but they were all the same. I growled and closed my connection with my wolf so I can calm a bit down. Rico ran after me and he shouted in the stormy wind.
- Jeremy! What's wrong, man?! - he asked and I violently turned around.
- Nothing! Let's go inside! - I shouted back. I didn't want to tell him that the stripper was my mate. Such an embarrassment. How could this happen? What should I do? These thoughts haunted me during all night. We didn't talk about what happened with Rico that night. I suggested to go to sleep and leave early in the morning next day. He didn't want to, but since I was his Alpha he had to agree and obey my orders. I was laying in my bed looking at the ceiling. She was so gorgeous. Everything a man would want. Hazel eyes, tiny waist, long silky hair. The way she moved on the stage made me fill with desire. I wanted her and wanted to own her. I shook my head and felt my stomach getting upset as a result of my thoughts. She is a human! If I would be with her or even kiss her it would be prurient. Like a human having s*x with a monkey... I knee what I had to do. I have been fine without a mate and I'll still be. Also, a human as Luna would be a disaster for my pack. They need strong leaders who can protect them. I sighed and said in a low voice not to wake Rico up.
- I Jeremy Hayes, Alpha of the Fearless Pack hereby reject you...Carolina as my mate and my Luna. - I prepared myself for the excruciating pain but it didn't come. I tried asked my wolf what was going on but he got pissed of by my actions and decided to give me a silent treatment. "Whatever. At least I can be calm now." - I thought but I couldn't fall asleep. I watched the hours pass and I groaned with frustration. The storm ended and I got dressed again. I thought maybe a long walk would help me to get a few hours of sleep before the trip today. I dug my hands deep into my pockets and walked in the fresh snow listening to its crashing sound under my feet. I didn't pay much attention to where I was walking just tried to focus on my breathing and my feelings. "Why didn't I feel pain? Maybe she wasn't my mate after all." That moment when this thought crossed my mind I felt someone bumping into me. I caught the person and only when a tingling sensation ran across my spine noticed that the person who ran into me was Carolina. Her scent made my eyes turn black and I wanted to deep my fangs into her flawless skin and make her mine. I growled when I realized I was still attached to her. She was in my arms and I held her despite all my disgust towards her kind. It felt so right and so wrong at the same time. I saw a man stumbling behind her and his scent of alcohol almost numbed Carolina's refreshing scent. He smiled at me and burped before he said.
- Hey dude! Be a good boy and give me that b***h. We have some unfinished business!- he shouted. I felt anger and held her a bit tighter to me but when his words arrived to my brain I felt utter disgust. "Unfinished business " she was probably making out with him and changed her mind or something. I looked into her eyes and I saw fear. She was scared and seemed so lost like a little bird with a broken wing. Part of me wanted to hold her close, the other part would've enjoyed to see her getting hurt. I saw her swallow hard and she whispered.
- I have nothing to do with that. - she said and her voice sounded so angelic. It was similar to me when I used to visit a tiny human town with my mother and she played the flute with the kids there. She was such a wonderful woman. Carolina kept looking into my eyes and she mouthed.
- Help me. - I stopped being nostalgic and let her go. I wiped my hands in my jacket because I wanted to get rid of the tingling sensation of our bodies being close. I looked at the pathetic human a d tried not to rip his head off for touching her. I kept my voice cool while I felt my eyes getting darker. My wolf decided to show himself he wanted what belonged to us.
- Go home dude and if she wants you tomorrow, I'm sure you will get her. - the guy walked away without saying another word which I was grateful for. I don't know what would I do if he started to argue with me or trying to drag Carolina away. I turned my back to Carolina and was about to walk away when I felt pain. But it wasn't mine and it wasn't physical. It was her. I hurt her pride. Carolina said in a low voice filled with anger.
- I'm not a slut. - I stopped and took another glance at her. She was dressed decently now, but the image of her dancing in an almost transparent lingerie that night came into my mind.
- That's not what I've seen today. - I said and took another step away. That was when my wolf decided to strike. I couldn't take another step ahead and he said.
"Go back to her! She is our mate! Alone, and hurt!" - my hands got clenched into fists. He growled, and said to my wolf in my mind.
"She is a human and a slut! There is no way that she will be my Luna!" - I said to him but he took control over our body and he turned pur face back to see her again. My grey eyes were now almost blacks. She took a few insecure steps towards me, I heard worry in her voice when she asked.
- Are you feeling okay? - she sounded so caring and kind. I snarled and held my head in my hands in frustration. I tried to block her voice and presence out but her scent made me go wild. Suddenly I felt her gentle touch on my shoulder. I stared at her and anger filled my mind while desire tortured my heart and body. I pushed her away and she slipped on the ice under the snow, falling on her back and hitting her head into the ground. She groaned in pain and held her head where she hit it. Her eyes sent lightnings in my direction.
- Why did you do that? - she asked in confusion but her voice sounded pissed off as hell.
- Don't touch me! - I growled and she shrugged, getting up from the ground. Then like nothing happened she started to get rid of the snow on her coat.
- You could've said that in the first place instead of pushing me into the snow. By the way thanks. - she said and walked past me. Her shoulder caressed mine and a shiver run down my spine. I wanted to ask her for her full name but voice couldn't leave my mouth. "I'm so fucked..." - I thought and went back to the motel. I glanced at the clock and groaned. It was already early in the morning. Just when I finally fall asleep Rico's alarm sounded. He got up stretching and growling. I pulled my pillow over my head and tried to fall back into sleep again. Rico started to get ready and when he was dressed he hopped on my bed.
- Hey Sleeping Alpha. You wanted to leave early it's time to get up! - he said and I growled.
- I know... I'm not a morning person either but if you want to sleep at home today we must leave. - this phrase made me get up from the bed. He was right, we still had to talk some common sense into Nicolas and go home. I didn't want to waist another minute because I didn't want to spend another night in this town. I git ready quickly and we left. While Rico drove further a heavy feeling on my chest became more and more uncomfortable. Rico turned the music down and glanced at me.
- Will you finally tell me what's going on? - he asked and I tried to play it cool.
- What do you mean? - he rolled his eyes.
- I'm your Beta, I feel that something is off with you. Also, I thought you'll be in a good mood that we finally left the human town, but instead you seem...
- I seem to be what? - I asked and he looked at me for a second.
- Lost. -" Lost... Was I feeling lost without that pet near me? No f*****g way!" - I shook my head.
- I don't know what you are talking about. - Rico stepped on the break and we stopped. He turned to me and said.
- Speak now Jeremy for the love of Goddess! I'm your best friend and we are alone here! So I suggest you to take it back from your face and don’t play macho when you’re visibly not yourself since we left. - I sighed and split it out.
- I found my mate. - he grinned and hit my shoulder in a caring way.
- Congratulations Jeremy! Finally! We have been waiting for this for so long!
- Don't pop the champagne. - I said and his smile disappeared.
- What have you done? - he asked frightened.
-I've rejected her. - Rico's eyes widened.
- Why?! - he almost screamed.
- Because I don't want her! - I shouted back at him and he asked.
- Let me repeat my question... WHY?! - I growled and shouted at my best friend.
- Because she is a human slut! - I said and Rico asked.
- I she the girl I talked with yesterday? Is this why you dragged me out? - I didn't know what to do. Lie to him or tell the truth.
- No. The other one who was with your midnight butterfly. - I admitted and Rico turned the motor on. He kept driving to the Sunset Pack and I was grateful for him being quiet. I was now in pain. I wanted to hold her again and didn't understand why we still had our bond. We arrived to the Sunset Pack and Rico seemed to be concerned.
- Are you feeling fine enough for this? - he asked and I put on a poker face.
- More than ever. Let's go.
