Mr. McGrumpy Roxanne Luckily, Rico understood my humor and put in a serious expression. - Mr. I fell in love with your daughter at first sight. I would love to keep in touch with her. May I ask for her number? - I glanced at my friend and she was blushing like a teenager. Rico kept complimenting her and I held my temple with my fingers, pretending that I've been thinking of the question. I sighed and lifted my hand in the air. - Yes. But if you do anything without her consent, I'll find you. - this started as a joke but ended up being a good reminder. Rico nodded and turned to Clarissa. - May I ask for your number, beautiful Cherry? - Clarissa blushed again and nodded writing down her number to Rico. Just when she handed the paper to him, the guy I saw rushed into the room. The guard was running behind him. - Hey! You can't just go in there! - he shouted, but the handsome stranger was already in the room. His eyes got fixed on me and I saw them getting almost black. A cold shiver ran down my spine. He looked disgusted and angry. He turned to Rico. - We are leaving. - Rico blinked at him in surprise. - What's wrong? - he asked but the other guy growled like a dog then, with a lot angrier and impatient voice, said. -Now! - Rico smiled apologetically at Clarissa and while his friend stormed out, pushing the guard out of his way, Rico imitated a phone with his hand and winked at Clarissa. We just blinked after them and Clarissa turned to me. - Correct me if I'm wrong, but was he the grumpy guy you saw? - I nodded and she hissed like when someone gets burned. - He is prickly... - I grinned at her and added. - Like a cactus and charming as an eel. - the sadness from Clarissa's face disappeared and she said between chuckling. - Except that he is too handsome for Mr. Grinch. - I agreed with her. - But he can be Mr. Grumpy. - Clarissa stood up and we walked back to backstage. Both of us started to prepare for our next performance when she rushed me and said. - Mr. McGrumpy. - I saw her smiling face in the reflection of my mirror and also saw how one of my eyebrows ran up. - Why Mc? - I asked and she said trying to put on a serious face. - With that light brown hair and grey eyes, he must be a Mc.at least. - I hushed her away and rolled my eyes. McGrumpy... This girl has quite an imagination. The night was long and I couldn't wait for my shift to end. It was already four in the morning when I left the club. Clarissa had gone home earlier while I stayed and helped to clean the bar with the bartenders. After we finished I changed into my jeans and bur faux fur coat. I put on long, furry boots and wrapped a huge scarf around my neck. It was freezing put there and the snow was huge. Luckily the storm ended already. I felt my teeth clicking together and my fingers were extremely cold. I stopped and reached for my gloves when a big, icy wind blew. - Oh f**k! - I muttered and walked to a smaller street to be protected from the wind. While I was there fishing for my gloves a man walked to me. I didn't know him but I saw him at the club that night. He seemed to be really drunk so I grabbed my pepper spray just in case. - Hey... Little angel. - he said between two burps. I searched for an escape with my eyes. He was getting closer and towered over me. I was thinking about the pepper spray but I got scared that if I miss his eyes, he might become dangerous. This man seemed to be really strong and heavy. I wanted to get home in the same way I left that morning. In one piece and without getting raped. He talked to me but I just didn't want to hear a thing. My fingers wrapped around the pepper spray and when he got close enough not to miss it I sprayed it into his eyes. He groaned and hit the wall right next to my face. I trembled in fear but quickly dodge under his arm and ran for my life. I ran but the street had melted snow which already froze thanks to the storm. I slipped and ended on my ass with a loud bump. - Oh s**t! This hurts... - I cursed but managed to get up. I kept running and heard the sound of steps coming closer. - Stop you little slut! If I get you, I'll show you how to treat a man! - he screamed and I crossed my fingers. I hoped he is loud enough to wake someone up. I kept running and bumped into someone. I looked up and saw McGrumpy. He caught me by my shoulders so I didn't fall and he was staring behind me. I heard the drunk guy stop and he yelled at McGrumpy. - Hey dude! Be a good boy and give me that b***h. We have some unfinished business!- he shouted. McGrumpy kept holding me steady but when he heard the other one say"unfinished business " I saw the disgust on his face. His grey eyes penetrated into my soul and it felt like he was waiting for me to disagree. I swallowed hard and whispered. - I have nothing to do with that. - he seemed to be in disbelief. I begged him with my eyes and mouthed. - Help me. - he let me go and swapped his hand into his jacket like he had touched something dirty and he wanted to get rid of it. - Go home dude and if she wants you tomorrow, I'm sure you will get her. - he said and the other one huffed walking away. McGrumpy started to walk away from me as well when anger took control of me. - I'm not a slut. - I said and he stopped in his track. He glanced back and with arrogance said. - That's not what I've seen today. He took another step and I saw his hands getting clenched into fists. He growled, again, just like a dog, and turned back looking into my eyes. The grey eyes he had before were now almost blacks. I took a step towards him and asked with worry. - Are you feeling okay? - he snarled and held his head in his hands. He mumbled something and shook his head. I touched his shoulder gently and he stared at me. The next thing I know was that he pushed me away and I landed in the snow. I hit my head a bit on the ground and hissed. - Why did you do that? - I asked angrily and he shouted at me. - Don't touch me! - I looked into his eyes and shrugged. I got up and tried to get rid of the snow that covered my coat. - You could've said that in the first place instead of pushing me into the snow. By the way thanks. - I said and walked past him. I just wanted to get home, have a hot bath, and have a night of good sleep. I was partly grateful for him saving me but I couldn't understand why he acted with so much hate towards me. I arrived home and in the hot bath kept thinking if I knew him from somewhere. The feeling when he prevented me from falling was so much more than a little help. I felt his fingers grabbing me and his hold tighten a little like he didn't want to let me go and in the next second, I was on the ground. I sighed and get out of the bath. Clarissa was already asleep and I also went to my room thinking about the fantastic stranger.
