Chapter 6: Crime Scene (1) *** A late autumn night, the street lamps were shining a shade brighter than usual as the mood was hidden behind the clouds. It looked as if it was about to rain at any moment. A beautiful woman walking down the street, her long black hair reaching her lower back, gently waving as she took each step. Her fair skin as if reflecting the light coming from the mostly covered moon, seemed to shine ever so brightly. She walked over to the cafe at the appointed time, then suddenly she had a text from someone. "Hm..." She stopped midway to look at it. 'Meet me further down the road...' It read. The woman didn't hesitate much before walking the extra few meters, then she felt someone grab her from an alleyway... "It's me..." The man said, his voice sounded a bit shaky as if he lacked much confidence needed to speak to a woman. "Oh, I see! I'm so glad to meet you, you must be Brad, right?" The woman spoke ever so calmly, with a charming smile across her face as she tilted her head to the side. "I... I'm sorry I had to bring you here... I'm no good at talking and of..." The man stuttered over a few of his words, it was still so dark in the alleyway that it was difficult to tell how the man looked. The only noticeable thing was the man's height seemingly a bit over 180cm and his larger stomach that made him stand out, he didn't have much muscle but he seemed strong purely because of his size. As to attractiveness there wasn't much to speak off, his manner made him seem creepy and all the worse the more he fumbled over his words and hesitated to do anything. He avoided eye contact, he stepped back a few times then forward in a fidgety manner. "Do you want to go inside the cafe and have a drink with me? I think it's a little bit too cold out here..." The woman said as she held the man's hand and urged him to walk with her. "Y-you're not... not s-scared of me?" The man asked as he followed after the woman slowly, he seemed to have a noticeable limp in his left leg, it was obviously difficult for him to walk. "Why would I be? After all you're the person I fell in love with!" The woman replied as she turned to smile at him, her gentleness, her beauty only amplified by the bright street lights that shone on her as they escaped the darkened alleyway. "Fell... in... fell in love with..." The man looked at the ground after just glancing at her. As if he was thinking over something he should be doing, but somehow he looked more confused than ever. 'Is this really the guy we're looking for?' Irene began wondering to himself. The more he interacted with the person the more it seemed like he was creepy but generally harmless. He did have these weird fidgety movements that concerned him but he didn't think much of it. 'If I made a mistake and it's not this guy then... Sebby is probably going to be mad at me...' Irene thought to himself as he waited for the other's response. There were two police vehicles waiting for a signal to come in but it wasn't given yet. Irene had a microphone on his clothes, small and unnoticable so that he could call out to them if an emergency situation were to occur. Futhermore sebastian was observing the entire scene from a distance, he was in charge of calling in reinforcements when the time comes. Next to Sebastian was the person assisting him Joseph, who was assigned by Bernard in case of need. "So what do you think? Think we got him?" Joseph asked with a grin on his face as he watched the interaction unfold. "He looks like he might be on drugs... and if not then he's a complete psychopath, it's a wonder we haven't caught him much earlier..." "You should keep quiet when on the job." Is all Sebastian said to the man before going back to watching Irene and the strange person, they'd just walked out of the alleyway which was perfect because the view was obscured the further they were down that very alleyway. "It's difficult to see from here... should we just call back up already?" Joseph wondered out loud. "You're being annoying..." Sebastian remarked, not taking his eyes away from the target and Irene. 'What in the world is he trying to do right now?' He couldn't comprehend the man's actions. *** "Do you think... I look good?" The man asked as he finally seemed to gain the courage to look at Irene. His face however seemed less than pleasant, his eyes looked unsettled, his skin seemed to peal off a bit as if he'd been scratching it off for the longest of time, he had a beard that seemed to barely grow and his hunched back didn't seem to make him any more attractive than before. "Of course, I do!" Irene said confidently in a feminine and high pitched voice as he smiled at the other. "You look amazing, so let's go and have a drink..." He tried to lead the man away again but this time his own hand was the one being gripped. "You're a liar... women like you don't date men like me, because I'm ugly..." He said in a low tone that could make anyone shivver in fear, anyone... except Irene who was as cool and collected as he'd ever been, the smile never once leaving his face. "Me, a liar? That's not it..." Irene denied as he stood there looking at the man's eyes. 'If anything... he seems to need professional help this man... but is it really drugs? There's no indication he's on anything, no redness on his eyes, no nothing...' He thought to himself, trying to assess the man's mental state. "No, no, no! Women are liars, that's all you ever f*****g do... You all reject me because I'm disgusting, because I'm not handsome... f**k you!" The man's behaviour suddenly switched, it would be a lie to say it wasn't expected given his state but it did come as a surprise, at least a slight one. "IRENE, do you need assistance, I repeat, do you need assistance?" The microphone hidden beneath the wig Irene was wearing transmitted those words to his ear. "No... that won't be nessessary..." Irene replied as he looked up at the man. "What did you say?! Who are you talking to you b***h?!" The man frantically looked around, there were nearly no people around them, it was a pretty empty street given the time of night and the fact most stores had already closed down. That neighbourhood was never known as being too into the night life. And even the few people still left outside didn't wish to interact with someone who obviously looked like he was either intoxicated or should be in an asylum. "Hey... you're hurting my hand, could you let go?" Irene asked in this calming voice. But the other man felt like he was being made fun of at that time. "You're... you're a heartless woman, an awful woman that never gives good men like me a chance! Just because I'm ugly!" The man pushed Irene against the wall. The people around them as little as there were, were now running away from the scene, no one had intention of helping them. "IRENE! This is getting out of hand, we're coming in!" Sebastian was the one to grab his communicator this time. He started running towards them but then heard the man's voice speak once more. "Don't bother... I can handle small fry like this guy..." Irene said with a smile as he used his free hand to poke the man's eyes. The larger man stepped back, he'd instinctively closed his eyes but it did little to help. "You b***h!" He growled as he held onto his face with his hands. Irene was as calm as ever as he approached him and kicked him in between the legs. The strength he used was one thing, but the shoes he was wearing had a small but considerably heavy metal plate in them. That single kick was enough to make the man lose balance. From then on it was as simple as Irene kicking down on the large man's knees, making them bend and pushing him over. He made the series of attacks look effortless but it was obviously not something anyone could do, despite how easy it looked. Irene pinned down the man and smiled. "Now you can come in calmly guys, we don't want to scare the civvilians... right?" He said while looking down at the man he was on top off. The police came in, Sebastian was the first one to arrive. He secured the large man's hands while he was still on the ground. "Good job convict, you really are useful." Joseph said as he approached the man with a careless smile, then suddenly pinned the man's hands behind his back. "Hm? I thought I told you not to call me 'convict' and also... why are these accessories here?" Irene asked as he gestured to the cuffs that he'd just been put in. "Isn't it obvious? You're being arrested, convict..." Joseph said as he pushed Irene to the cop car. "Wait! What do you think you're doing to my partner?" Sebastian let the man he was holding be secured by other officers and driven away. He headed to where Joseph and Irene was, confused as to what was happening. "I haven't heard of any of this!" He said. "Sebastian... if I didn't know you better, I'd think you're actually attached to this criminal..." Joseph said with a smile as he closed the door to the cop car and headed to the drive's seat. "I'm arresting him because his work here is finished, he helped us capture the killer and now he's going to go and serve his time." "That's not what I heard-" Sebastian was interrupted by the man. "It doesn't matter what you heard... You're a low level officer, you're no better than a hound, so act like it." Joseph said in a low voice next to Sebastian's ear then sat in his driver's seat and drove off. Leaving Sebastian to wonder when exactly and with whom these details were discussed with...
