Was this place swarming with magic monsters!
When Amelia gasped the blue tulips had stayed still and the figure turned to her. “Jolly?” Amelia gasped again. Didn’t her father say they didn’t do magic? What was that about? “Where’s she?” Jolly asked.
Amelia frowned. She didn’t even greet, couldn’t the child reverence her as the Princess of Latvian. The little girl turned to her painting. “Do you like it?” she asked. She had tried hard to paint blue tulips.
Amelia kept quiet, she gazed at Jolly with contempt. So even this little girl was aware of her kidnap. The mansion she thought was desolate or full with magicians was instead filled with giggles of a little girl. “Where’s she?” Jolly asked again. “Who is she?” Amelia asked back.
Jolly ignored her, took her painting and began looking for whoever she was looking for. Amelia followed her cautiously till the little girl came in front of Kiera. He was also painting, a picture of a female sleeping. With the background, Amelia noticed it could be at the guest room she had stayed in, why was he painting her? She felt her cheek burn a little.
Jolly lifted her painting to Kiera, “Looks like you won this week’s painting contest” she brought it down.
“I always win” Kiera had responded to her with a cheerful tone.
Jolly faked sobbing then smiled, she went back to her painting tools. Amelia watched the both of them. They acted like she wasn’t even there.
“Who is she to you?” she asked Kiera.
“Little sister” he replied without looking up from his painting.
Amelia nodded. The girl would surely be magical. Why was that old man lying that time?
“You like painting?” Amelia asked again.
“No, Jolly does” he said.
She nodded again. The conversation wasn’t working so she went over to Jolly. Seems like second day as a wife won’t turn out as scary and hectic as the first day.
“You like tulips too” she sat besides the girl.
“Yup, yup, yup, I suggested he plant them, there weren’t always here. He also planted them prior to your coming, I think they are really cute” the girl chattered. Amelia smirked, prior to her coming? Seems like this magician had been planning to steal a Latvian Princess for a long time. “I didn’t steal you” Kiera spoke behind her. Jolly looked at him confused.
Amelia knew he was referring to her. “You were a gift” he continued. Amelia stopped her mind from cursing at him. Which gift would be given without the gift's consent. That’s for a living gift. “And I hope you enjoyed your breakfast?” he added.
A black horse trotted towards him. Amelia didn’t know there was a stable behind the garden. What else would be new! He climbed the horse and Jolly rushed to do the same.
“Wait, where are you two going?” Amelia rushed over.
“Jolly is hungry” Kiera smirked at her.
“Yes” the girl pouted, “I thought you’d make food for us too”. Guilt rushed over Amelia, and Kiera sensed it. “Don’t worry, we won’t stay long” he started out with the horse. Well, they could leave, let Amelia plot in peace.
Amelia found her way to the visitors room and laid down on the bed. Why was loneliness weighing on her. She decided to think on different matters. Like the relationship between Latvian and Konia. Konia wasn’t a powerful kingdom due to their size but their natural resources.
This made many powerful Nations to intimidate them and they began paying lots of unnecessary tributes to those countries, so much that their own alliance people began suffering.
After Lady Lily was sent for marriage alliance to one of their princes, Latvian has been protecting them and they in turn gave little tributes to Latvian and were allies in war.
Also Latvian had many resources Konia gained from. It was a trade by barter system.
What Amelia couldn’t understand then was why Lady Lilly had to be given out for an alliance when it was Konia that needed help. Latvian wasn’t in famine so Konia's tributes weren’t necessary.
Amelia wasn’t born at that time so she could only make assumptions. One thing outstanding, Latvian must have owed something else. What business could her people have with that idolatry nation.
The problem at hand was how to escape from her husband’s b*****e. Maybe not escape but know how to incase she needed to. She went to the gate, it was locked with a big padlock. She wondered how it would be locked from outside.
Then she remembered Kiera had walked past the door early that morning without opening it. He must have done the same with his horse and Jolly.
She decided to go find it but decided not to. Where would she find it? She should stop forgetting she’s dealing with a magician. One that could appear in front of her and possibly snap her head off her body.
Her mind filtered some things she needs to think about. One caught her attention.
Jolly had asked her “where is she?” and had met up with Kiera. As far as Amelia knew, she was supposed to be married to a “he”. Or was there some kind of misunderstanding? Since she was a sibling to him she would know he’s true gender. Things were getting creepy. The “I-want-to-go-home” feeling was creeping up on Amelia.
According to the dictionary, which she saw in a library, a very big room, “bisexual” meant “Sexually attracted to both men and women”. She cant confirm this as he wasn’t close to any male she knew.
Could this be a hindrance to her marriage? Perhaps he wasn’t bisexual, he was married to a female.
He had a weird walking step and his voice sounded feminine too. More cold to feminine, anyway. But he acted manly, well normally.
Deputy Commander Wright must have called him bisexual because Kiera made use of the Deputy’s love for women. The deputy had three wives and two Mistresses. Kiera being female for a man, and male for a female seemed to complicated.
He seemed like a female man. Did that make meaning? “What am I getting myself into?” Amelia moaned. All these questions having no answers.
