All these questions having no answer.
Amelia went in to read books on Magic and Magicians. She never thought she would have to read such books.
From her reading, she understood that it took years to reach a high level of magical manipulation, to be a witch or a wizard. That sounded scary. Wizards and witches alike, all they do is curse. Never bringing good things. Buts till, Kiera was still less than twenty so how could he have attained so much power.
Amelia saw something else.
A powerful magician could transfer powers to his student. Or a student could get possessed by a powerful wizard or witch becoming as much powerful. Like a living puppet.
That was another reasonable explanation.
Problem is, which one is his story!
Now, done with reading, she had more questions. If he wasn’t bisexual, why did he act female? He wasn’t over seventy as the Deputy said or did he manipulate his age? Could she even ask Kiera these questions or she had to find the answers herself?
Again what was the relationship between Sam and Kiera? If they didn’t do magic, why is his daughter's brother a magician? Or is Kiera not his son? How did Jolly come in here? Did they live around? Could she run to them?
Amelia was so lost in the questions swimming in her head that she didn’t know that Kiera had returned and was standing beside her. “Who do you want to run to?” he asked in a hushed voice. She leapt in shock, almost falling but then kept her balance. “No one, but must you scare me like that” she asked in a teary voice.
He came closer to her face. Her cheeks flashed pink but then subsided. What did he want? “It’s now fun” that cold voice voiced. Her disposition changed, she stretched her hands and the book “magic and magicians” came handy. She raised it to hit Kiera but her held her hands. “Magic and Magicians? Why do you need it?” he questioned.
She brought her hands down and smirked, “Why shouldn’t I need it? I have every right to need it! To know what kind of monster I am married to”. Her walked away from him. He stayed mute. Then turned slowly to her retreating figure. He appeared in front of her before she reached the exit. He narrowed his gaze at her, she didn’t budge.
“Must you provoke me?” his voice seemed shaky. “How would you bring out the monster in you!” she replied immediately. His eyes turned gray. Was he going to punish her, she wondered. It turned white again. She felt something stuck to her hair and she quickly reached out for it.
It was a hair pin, silver with blue crystals. Those colors were her favorite combinations. “You broke the old one when you threw it at me yesterday” he said, “And I will try to ignore you, Princess” he added and then walked away.
Amelia exhaled deeply. Was he buying gifts for someone he kidnapped? Or was he playing duty of a husband? Basically, that’s as the first quarrel as husband and wife. It didn’t last long though. When she was younger, she always promised herself not to get into a misunderstanding with her future husband and try to apologize first if she accidentally got into one. Now, she was the one starting it. Well, she was resolute, this marriage wouldn’t work, he would have to send her back to Latvian.
Unknown to Amelia, Kiera was really ready to make the marriage work. He didn’t just get married to her because she was a Princess. Neither did he get married to her because she was daring, he liked all that.
Well, he wasn’t so sure if he still liked it since she had dared herself to annoy him everyday but he would have to put up with her for the greater good.
His main reason was that he wanted a successor. With Royal blood. Being too powerful had disadvantages to him. One of her theories were correct as a witch had transferred powers to him, or more or less, partly possessed him. She was the one who was rumored to be over seventy years old. She was the one making him have female tendencies.
All these can be answered if Amelia asked peacefully. Of course, he would tease her but she would still get her answer. He didn’t want to play cold with her. And since their child would be necessary, for his freeing himself from the witches trace, he would deeply appreciate her cooperation.
The longer the witches trace stayed in him, the harder it will be to remove and the more disorders would happen. The child won’t be endangered as he would send the witches trace to his body and remove it easily since he was infant. It would be easier to fight the witch’s remaining traces with his level of magic manipulation.
If not, the witch’s trace could get to someone else in the future. Someone Royal, again. He strolled past the rooms while having these thoughts. He stopped at the visitor's room. He couldn’t just appear in there. She could throw a bed at him or something. “Amelia?” he knocked.
It opened. She didn’t look angry. He read her thoughts. She seemed sad on why he was calling her by her name “Amelia”, it was the second time now. “I won’t you call you “Princess”, you aren’t here. I can’t call you “Wife” till you act like one”. As he finished his words, Amelia shot him a 'death glare', if really eyes were guns.
“I should act as a wife to a husband. So far I knew, husbands were caring, protective and… male” she stressed the male factor.
He smiled “Indeed, that was your problem?”.
She nodded. “I will tell you why. You have to promise not to act stupid when I’m done, agreed?”.
She didn’t say anything. How would she agree. She would hear it first then give her consent. It better be something worth her time.
