I waved good-bye to Michelle as her Mum drove away. I could tell that she wanted to stay longer, but it was already 8:15 p.m. when her Mum arrived. I went inside and locked the door. I started making my way through the house to lock and close all the windows and made sure that no one was hiding in the rooms. It was normal since... That night.... Once everything was closed, I made my way to the kitchen and saw Will sitting and doing his homework. He clearly had a rough day, because he has been doing homework since we got home. “I see your teachers don't have social lives.” I commented and I heard him give a dry, sarcastic laugh. He clearly wasn't in the mood for my jokes, so I decided not to make them. “What do you want for dinner?” I asked as I took out random vegetables to make a salad with whatever he wanted to eat. “I don't know. I'm not that hungry, to be honest. Just make a chicken salad and a protein shake. I should be fine till tomorrow.” I nodded as I ran hot water into the basin and I put a few chicken breasts into the water to unfreeze. I started chopping the vegetables needed for the salad. “I heard that Liam was asking about the classes you take.” I almost chopped my finger when he said that. “Well, its probably only because I take the same classes as Leila. She is a total bitch... Annoying as fuck.” I looked through the cupboards for a bowl and put the chopped vegetables in there. It was a mixture of tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, onion and bell pepper. I threw away the peels and etcetera and proceeded to chop the chicken. I picked out a pan that was hanging above the island counter and put some olive oil in the pan. I waited for the stove to heat it up before I fried the chicken. I could put the finish chicken in the bowl and put salad dressing over before I started cleaning up. I could tell that Will was trying hard to contain his hunger, but he just didn't want to eat. I decided to make something extra that he could eat if he wanted to. I quickly chopped the fruits for the smoothies and tried making conversation with him again. “So, your friends seem nice.” I stated and I noticed Will glance at me through his lashes as he continued writing. “You and I both know that you don't really think that. You despise their attitudes. I know you by now.” He stated and I laughed despite the fact that nothing was funny. It was just that he was making it awkward while he worked. I put the fruit in the blender and made sure the lid was secure, before I put it on. I had bad experiences with blenders loosing control. “They don't really seem that bad. But they are very talkative. Michelle seemed like the kind of girl I would be friends with... The others don't wear enough clothes...” That made Will laugh and I smiled since it made the house seem livelier than a few moments ago. “I noticed you gave them foul looks.” He laughed harder and I poured us two glasses of the smoothie and then put the rest in a different jug and into the fridge. I grabbed a bag of sweet chilli Doritos. I put it on the table with sour cream and onion dip. I got two dishes and dished up some salad before I pushed it towards Will. He started eating immediately and I started taking my time with my food. Wills' phone started ringing and he answered it with a chip in his mouth. “Hello? Yeah, it's fine. You can come over. How many? Yeah, just tell everyone to bring snacks. I'm not supplying everything.” He hung up and I gave Will a look as he started eating again. He was purposely ignoring my threatening looks. “And what was that?” I asked and I watched him swallow and I raised my eyebrows in question. “Caleb, Damien and Liam are coming over. They want to have a guys night, but their parents aren't open about the idea being at their houses. They know that you will obviously be here-they said it doesn't matter.” I glared at him as I continued eating. I didn't want to have a house full of teenage boys and Will openly said it was no problem. And the worst part was that it was on a school night. Didn't he think things through? I put the dishes in the dish washer and set the necessary settings and grabbed my smoothie and my own bag of Doritos. “Make sure you clean up.” I left and went up to my room. It was creepy walking down the empty and dark hallway so I rushed my steps and when I got to my room, I hurriedly put the light on. I put my jogging clothes for tomorrow on the hooks in my closet and then I got my sleeping clothes. I froze when I looked out the window and I saw Liam-who was unaware of me. He pulled off his shirt and I gaped at his muscles. He turned and put his shirt on his bed and I gasped when I saw the s***h marks and cuts running down his back. They were already scarred, but they were visible-even from this far away. He turned around again and we made eye contact. I felt a chill go down my spine when I noticed the rage boiling in his. He grabbed a black shirt and put it on quickly. I walked to my bathroom since I figured that I had been snooping enough. I started doing the things I needed to do, but the whole time I kept thinking about the scars on his back. I couldn't help but wonder what had happened to him... I opened the bathroom door and my room was pitch black. I debated on calling Will, but I knew no one would've been able to come into my room without him noticing. I was about to start running to the light switch when I was pulled out of the bathroom and my back made contact with the wall. From the light spilling into my room, I could make out Liam’s facial features. But he was angry... His breathing was raged and he looked like he wanted to kill me. I started panicking and I became aware of the position we were in. His arms were beside my head and his body was pressing mine to the wall... I debated on screaming for help, but something in his eyes warned me that it wasn't a smart choice. “Enjoy spying on me earlier?” He asked harshly and I scrunched my eyes closed tightly. “I-I wasn't s-spying. I-I j-just saw y-you and-and...” Why was I stuttering? I never stuttered. Like never, ever, ever, EVER. “Spying.” His voice was harsh and I didn't want to open my eyes in fear of what I would see. But the problem was that I became aware if everywhere our bodies touched... I clenched my jaw to stop my thoughts and tried thinking about anything but him. “Never do that again. Next time, I might do something worse than this.” And just like that he walked away and I instantly became aware of how cold my room was. Or how hot he had been... I shook my head to clear my thoughts when I heard the door shut behind him... What just happened...
