I closed my locker door and I almost jumped out of my skin when I saw Michelle standing next to me. She walked so quietly but then again, I might just have bad hearing. “So, did your Mum say its fine?” I asked and since she had a serious expression on her face. We had arranged that we go to my house first and then I can see what my Mum left in my room and we could have lunch and then go to the mall to buy whatever. “She said it's fine as long as I'm home by 8.” I nodded and we started walking to Wills' car. He said he would be a few minutes late, since he was hung up in some class for being late. I took out my spare keys and got in the back with Michelle. She immediately got her phone out and started texting someone. Once she was done she turned her attention to me. “You do know that the mall will be crowded today? It's cheer try-outs on Saturday, so everyone will be looking for clothes to wear. First impressions are everything to them.” “I thought they were supposed to be today?” I asked confused. I had been told it was cancelled, but not why. “We didn't have enough sign ups, so we decided the sooner the better, but then you came along, so Leila wants to see if we get any more sign ups.” She stated and I thought for a moment. Maybe going to the mall wasn't such a good idea... “Well... We could just do homework in my room, go for a jog-I can borrow you clothes, and just chill. It doesn't seem like a bad option.” I stated and she sighed as she started texting again. I could tell that her parents were over protective because she texted them 24/7. “My Mom says its fine as long as I'm still home by 8. So... what's it like being the center of attention?” I sighed as I sat back in my seat. I had already started making an impression. We had a pop quiz in Algebra class and not so surprisingly, I scored the highest. And people started talking about the new girl being a Nerd but everyone noticed that my name was on almost every activity the school had. “Believe me, its not as fun as it seems... Everyone has high expectations of you and the moment you mess up, it's the talk of the town.” I stated and she nodded. I felt my phone vibrate again and I answered my Dad. “Hey, Dad.” I answered and I heard him sigh on the other side of the line. “Listen, honey, I know your Mother left for London, but I need to go to Berlin for a conference as soon as I come back from Japan. I should be gone for a few days. Do you think the two of you will be fine? I already cancelled the people your Mom hired to fix the house.” “It's fine. I will tell Will. Be safe.” “Always.” I sighed as my Dad hung up. I should've known that they had an argument. This always happened when they did... “What was that about?” Michelle asked and I smiled politely. “Nothing important.” I stated and I was grateful for the fact that Will was getting into the car. I didn't want her prying into my life yet. “Sorry I took so long.” We told him it was no problem and we got on the road. We made random small talk and I heard Michelle gasp when we pulled into the driveway and I just smiled. “You live here? Behind Liam Carson?!” She asked dramatically, but I didn't bother answering. I didn't know what the big deal about Liam Carson was. He seemed like a stuck up cactus... We got out the car and Michelle hopped over to my side. She was clearly excited about being in this house because she seemed really figety. “When did you move in?” She asked and I started walking up to my room with her following. “We moved in on Saturday. My Mum is a perfectionist, so that's why it looks like we've been here for longer.” I answered and I started climbing the stairs. I could tell that Michelle was slightly winded by the walk. When we got to my room she gasped as she took in the view and then she squealed. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! That's his room!” She squealed as she pointed across to the house behind me. She was basically eating up everything in his room and I shook my head as I went through my newly packed closet and found us clothes to go jogging in. “I know. Believe me, it nothing. Why are you so obsessed with him?” I asked curiously and she sighed dreamily as she took the risk of leaning against the glass. “Liam Carson is our resident Mr. Bad Boy. He is always late to class and he has the attitude of a stuck up rich guy-which is exactly what he is. But he has only ever had anything resembling a relationship with Leila. They have s*x almost every day. It's scary hearing about all the things they do.” She stated and I threw a pair of grey Adidas shorts at her with a white shirt and white Adidas shoes with a white shirt. My outfit was exactly the same, but my shorts were black and my shirt and shoes were grey. “You have the best brand name clothes. You are so spoiled. I would kill to have even half the clothes you have.” She stated and I shrugged as I picked up the papers on my bed and put them in the nightstand. I didn't want her reading them. I picked up the box with all my photographs in it and moved it upwards. “You can go change in the bathroom and I will change in here.” I stated and she nodded as she jogged into the bathroom. I quickly put on the clothes and I was tying my laces when she came out the bathroom. I handed her a hair band to tie her hair and she made a simple pony tail while I made two french braids. We continued speaking while I did my hair. “So, what subjects are you taking?” She asked and I started listing them. "I have Literature, Algebra, Art, Drama, Music, and Science." I answered and she gave me and odd look. She probably realized that those subjects don't point to any specific career. “I'm going to become an Actress. Believe it or not and I know it sounds cheesy but yeah...” “That is so cool... I'm guessing that Leila is in all of your classes? She is also going to be a Actress and Model. She has high goals she wants to reach.” Michelle informed. I could tell she wasn't telling me something, but I decided not to call her out on it. “I don't really mind Leila that much. What do you want to be?” I asked and she sighed as she sat down next to me on the bed. “I'm going to be a surgeon. My parents are both surgeons so I'm going to follow in their footsteps.” She informed and I realized she was a parent pleaser... Maybe we would get along after all... “What surgeons are they?” “My dad is a Cardio Surgeon and my mom is a Neurological Surgeon. They're barely ever home, but they still keep me on a tight leash.” She informed and I stood up and so did she. I could tell that she didn't really want to continue with the conversation, so I wasn't going to force her to. “Shall we get going?”
