Is that all you got, piccola?

Marabella's POV I can not lie. I am extremely butt hurt right now that my husband sided with his brother. Do I understand why my husband and brother-in-law feel the way they do? Of course. Am I still mad at that I have to change my daily routine because of another threat? Absolutely. I feel like I am letting whatever enemy that threatens the city council win, by staying away from city hall. I hate that feeling. On the bright side of things, this allows me time to finally sit down and go through the file that Trey sent to my phone. I sat down on our bed and pulled my laptop out. I sent the file to my email address, allowing me to pull it up on the laptop screen. I started with her messages, deleted and current. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary with that. They were mainly messages to us, her brothers, or her friends from school. Nothing inappropriate or suspicious. Next, I combed through her f*******:, i********: and snapchats. When I made it to snapchat, I began to realize that something wasn't right. Someone had messaged her through i********: and asked for her snap. Like the naive teenager that she is, she sent it to them. From these snaps and chats between them, I can see that it started out innocent on Miriam's part. She would send regular snaps to him, about her being bored in school, or of the school work she was working on. He would always send her snaps of pretty nature scenes. A waterfall, a blooming flower, the sunset, breathtaking photos. At the beginning of their conversation, he asked her how old she was. She was honest with him and told him she was 15 years old. However, when she asked his age, he would dodge the question, with another question about her. As I sat there and read all the questions that she answered, and all the questions he refused to answer or was quite vague on, I truly realized where I had went wrong. She is naive, so very naive. She is being preyed upon by a grown man. She has been talking to her for a week, and he knows what city she lives in, where she goes to school, her clothes and shoe sizes, her favorite meals. If you name it, he knows it. I swear to God if she knew her own social security number, he would too. This is so horribly bad. I need to find out who this guy is. His real name, because it's definitely not Jacob Wilson. I need to warn my child, and speak with her father. Because honestly, I know that I won't be able to handle this alone. However, I need to wait to speak to Luca because I know that he will fly off the deep end. I need to talk with Miriam first and understand where her mind set is. I also need Trey to look into this Jacob Wilson, and find out his true identity. That way I am not going to Luca empty-handed. I shot Trey a quick text, before finishing going through the messages. My stomach churned when I saw a picture of my daughter in nothing but a bra and panties. He had originally asked her for a full-blown nude, and she said she wasn't quite comfortable enough with him yet, to send one. My jaw locked shut as I continued reading. Disgust was churning in my gut, as I read how my daughter had been groomed for the last week or so. The last few messages were of him asking to finally meet up with her. She told him she was nervous about meeting him since she didn't know anything about him. That was when he started feeding her vague details about himself. He told her his height, hair color, favorite dish, his shoe size. Random things that truly didn't mean too much, because the possibility that they were lies, was very high. He was literally describing the person in the photo on i********:, but has never actually sent her a picture of himself. My intuition is screaming for me to take action. As I closed my laptop, the bedroom door opened. I looked up, being met by smokey gray eyes. "Are you still mad at me?", he asked softly. I crinkled my eyebrows and crossed my arms over my chest. "Maybe", I puffed. Luca couldn't help but crack a grin at me pouting. He thinks it's the most adorable thing he has ever seen. "Oh, piccola", he cooed gently. "Stop, Luca. Not funny", I growled. "Oh, gattina davvero focoso oggi (Oh, super feisty kitten today)", he commented. I shot him my best mean mug. "Is that all you got, piccola?", he chuckled. "Ugh, can't you just let me be mad at you?", I exasperated. Luca belly-laughed at my comment, "Uh, no, sorry. No can do", he chuckled. I stood from the bed, and grabbed my laptop to place back on the desk. As soon as the laptop left my hand, Luca grabbed hold of me. "Luca, what are you doing?", I asked, frustrated. My back hit the bed tenderly. "Baby girl, don't be upset with me please. This is only temporary, and for your safety", he whispered, pulling back to look at my face. I inhaled sharply, I can't ever stay mad at this man. I know that every decision he makes for this family is based solely on love. He wouldn't ever do something out of spite, or even something that was unnecessary. I sighed, as I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him close. Luca melted against me, allowing all his anxiety and fears to slip away. "I love you", I whispered. "I love you, baby girl", he muttered, rooting his nose against my neck. "It was already hard enough to make this decision. Trust me, it wasn't done lightly", he whispered against my neck. "I know it wasn't easy, my love. But I am allowed to disagree with you, and you still have the lead. I've always trusted you, Luca. That hasn't changed", I told him, as I combed my fingers through his hair. Luca sighed with relief. "You have no idea how much comfort that brings me, piccola. Just being reminded of that", he uttered, holding me tighter. I lied there silently and held him for a while. Now is not the time to bring the situation with Miriam to his attention. I can feel how high his stress levels are already. He needs this silent time with me. No worries, or duties, only us. I swear it only took a few minutes of me playing with his hair, for him to fall asleep on top of me. I chuckled as I tried to slide back towards the headboard. "Hmm, what are you doing?", Luca muttered, grabbing hold of me, tighter. "I'm trying to scoot to the headboard to put us in a more comfortable positon, love", I answered him. Luca sat up, allowing me the ability to slide up to the headboard. I rested my back against it, as Luca crawled up my legs and rested his head on my breast. "Mhmm, yes ma'am. You were right. This is more comfortable", he purred on my chest. I giggled, as I stroked his cheek. "Sleep handsome. I will stay with you", I cooed, combing his hair. Luca hummed as he snuggled further into my chest. "Yes ma'am", he whispered, settling down. I cherish every moment I can with him. That's why I chose to stay behind and allow him to nap on me, instead of going to speak with Miriam right now. I have something to fix her little issue anyway. She may hate me for it, but in the wise words of my husband, it is for her protection. I could never forgive myself if something was to happen to my little girl.
