Diana's (Iris') pov

It has been about three hours after I came back to the palace and in this time a lot happened...

First of all I took a bath to relax and while I was getting ready Ellie, Peyton and Andrea came to make sure that I was alright because to be honest I acted like an insane b***h when I arrived but I had a point because I was angry...

Next I had to go and give some blood for the necessary tests that are needed in order to be sure that we are all alright after these two days and then the asshole told Landon to come and take me back to my room.

Yes!

Do you know why?

Because the asshole is worried about me! Wow!

Well, personally I believe that he feels guilty for what happened to Hunter, Derek and me but Landon told me that he gave this order only for me and not for the guys.

I don't know what has gotten into him... Maybe the fact that I am a 'woman' and I somehow humiliated him when I came back made him feel a bit nervous and now he wants to make up to me.

Bullshit!

We could have been killed because of him and his stupidity and he can do nothing to change this.

I don't know how he managed to feel something and I still can't believe it but this doesn't matter now.

I can't rest as he asked me to... I am going up and down my room all the time trying to remember what that filthy rogue's scent reminds me of...

From where the hell do I know his scent?

I walk across my room and take my phone from the bedside table. I jump on my bed and lay in the middle and then call my dad.

I haven't called him and I had promised that I would have done it once I would return. He has been surely dying in agony all these hours, I am an i***t! Okay, I did my stupidity again but I have a good excuse.

I place my phone close to my ear and wait patiently hoping that he is going to answer my call soon.

And yes!

After one, two, three beeps he does...

"Sweetheart!" he exclaims in agony and I smile in sympathy.

He loves me very much, more than I think I deserve. After he found me I became his everything, it's like he is giving me all the love and care he was supposed to give to Iris and Addison.

"Dad, I am alright, don't worry. Okay?" I say shortly and he sighs relieved.

"I lost my life these two days! How was it baby? Was the weather good? Did you sleep, eat...?"

"Dad! Everything was fine. I have not even a scratch, okay? But um..."

I pause and stiffen nervously. Well, this is going to be a hell, he will be outraged and I will overwhelm him for no reason, almost no reason... But I can't lie or hide something like this from him, he will find it out sooner or later, not to mention that he might help me.

"Diana what happened?" he asks me in agony hearing my tone.

"Dad, don't get scared. Everything is under control but yesterday afternoon a hunter and a rogue tried to attack me." I say timidly and...

"I am alright! I shot the rogue with wolfsbane's capful and I managed to hurt the hunter. I brought them here and everything is great. I mean it. Two more persons got attacked but no one got hurt." I explain and he groans still frustrated yet worried.

"I got trained from the top Beta Black. My father is the best so I had no problem, relax." I continue teasingly knowing that my words will have a certain effect on him and I am right...

"Okay, I just need some time to process the whole thing. You know that I won't bare it if anything happens to you!" he says nervously and I sigh.

"I know dad! Thank you for loving me that much! I love you too!"

"You didn't have to tell me baby girl. How did Daniel react? The others?"

"Um... He was speechless, I was out of control, I can say I quite humiliated him for this. I am sure there is a traitor in the palace, only in this way I can explain how these three attacks happened. "Gideon Black do not ever say such a thing again!" I say raising my voice and he laughs.

I freeze as the thought comes in my mind and I open my eyes widely breathless.

"I just remember dad! Well, kind of but I know!" I say in hurry and we stay in silence for some seconds.

"The hunters that attacked us when you got shot!" he yells suddenly and I groan in agreement.

"Yeah! Okay, I will describe you his appearance but I do not remember a thing from that day so you have to look in the case's file. Ask Luke to help you, I am sure he remembers more."

"Okay! Well how does he look like?"

"Um... Not that tall, he is like me with more weight than the usual, about 45 years old, mmmm... Black hair that reaches his shoulders, bears and too dark brown eyes. His scent if he had taken a bath it would be ginger or something like this." I say thoughtfully and Destiny growls in approval.

"Okay, I am going. I will call you once I see the file. Diana... Be careful, please!"

"Don't worry! Oh, can you send a copy of the case's file with a fax please? I will inform Landon now. It is a big information and they need to know, this might help us."

"Okay. I love you, take care! Yes?" he whispers with meaning (surely for Daniel).

At least he forgot about the whole attack thing...

"Okay, I love you too! I will be waiting, hurry!" I say forcing myself not to growl and he laughs ending our call.

Focus Diana!

I close my eyes, take some deep breaths and calm down enough to continue.

I can do it!

I open my link with Landon and call him.

"Diana?" he replies after a while and I smile melancholically.

Okay, I have someone in this palace to remind me who I am.

"What happened?" he asks me next nervously.

"I need to tell you something I just think I remembered! It's about the hunter... I think he is the one that shot me one year ago!"

"He is what?" he yells.

Why do they all react the same way?

"Diana come immediately in Daniel's office. I can't tell him, it's your job to do. He won't react calmly if I tell him. I hope you understand..." he says apologetically.

I sigh nervously and Destiny purrs.

"Okay. When can I come? Please be there, I need you with me!" I say getting panicked.

Daniel's pov

I am feeling so desperate and helpless after what happened...

I can't believe that I almost lost her, she could have been killed.

And what I would have done then?

I would have killed myself.

I mean... After the dream with Diana and Iris I am feeling that something is changing inside me and I don't know what but I am sure about one thing.

Iris is important to me and I feel things that I have never felt before and well...

My feelings are not only for Iris but for Diana as well.

I know it is pointless, Diana is dead and even if she is alive I won't find her and Iris hates me so nothing is going to happen but...

The moment I saw Iris appearing and dragging the rogue and the hunter I swear my heart stopped beating and I lost the ground under my feet. It was like I was dying.

The thought that I could have lost her killed me and Devon wasn't in a better state of mind to help me.

What happened to her is my own fault and if I could turn back the time believe me I would have changed everything.

Her words under different circumstances would have driven me crazy and I would have attacked her for her disrespect but with Iris is different. She is right, she said the truth and I am useless and the biggest i***t I know. I am reckless and some of them could have been killed because of me.

She is wearing a sport from velvet set of a dark grey pair of trousers with its matched jacket that is open and from inside she is wearing a white simple top and as for shoes she is wearing a white pair of Nike. Her long brown hair is down in natural big waves and despite the fact that she didn't sleep last night she doesn't look so tired.

She is still amazing and imagine that I am saying such a thing, the man that wants the women to get dressed with short, exposing dresses...

Anyway, with Iris everything is different.

"Come in Iris. Have a sit." I say nervously and she looks surprised that I called her only with her name but soon nods and bows quickly to Landon.

"I just remembered or better thought about something and I wanted to tell you my King." She says as she walks and sits on a chair right in front of my office and next to Landon.

"Thank you. I also called my father... He is going to look the file and send us a copy of it with Fax. I gave him a description of the hunter and if he finds anything he will inform us immediately." She replies and I blink my eyes amused.

She is a f*****g genius and really the best in her job. She is taking care of everything without needing anyone to advice her.

"Perfect Iris. Thank you for your professionalism and help. And now that I mentioned it... I want to announce you personally the final results. They informed me a while ago that you are 3rd in the rank for this year. You have the best grades but last year's place kept you a bit back and I can say nothing less than congratulations! "You are alive... Why did you lie to Aiden and... Us?" he asks still shocked.

"I... I will tell you, just don't reveal my identity, please! Come with me at the waterfall after the forest and I will explain everything!" I say desperately and he nods.

"Why? Just tell me something for now! I am dying here!"

I take a deep breath and close my eyes allowing some tears that were blurring my vision to fall.
