Third Person POV
Kaylene sat down in the cave waiting for her mother and aunt, holding on to her doll like her life depended on it. She really prayed that her mother would come and get her. She closed her eyes tight singing to herself hoping time would go by fast but it seemed like it wasn’t.
Kaylene heard a rustling sound outside the cave and footsteps following up. She flinched where she was sitting and stood up. She heard a screeching voice outside she held on tight to her door walking closer to the entrance
“Mommy?” she called after her the sounds had stopped. “Mommy?” she called out again when someone showed up in front of her
“Ah! She screamed letting out a lo. piercing cry trying to run away. But the strong man pulled her back, “Kaylene stop! Am not going to hurt you” the man said letting her go.
“My name is Marcus and also a friend of your mother she asked me to get you” Marcus explained to her
“What about my mother!” she asked him seeing he wasn't mentioning anything about her
“she’s waiting for you. Now come with me” Marcus said to her handing out his hand.
“How did you know where I was?” Kaylene asked Marcus looking at his suspicious face
He swallowed hard before he finally answered her. ” Your mother asked me to come here” Marcus convincingly said to her giving her a small nod
He took Kaylene and walked out of the cave, Kaylene kept looking around for her mother but she didn’t see him.
“Where’s my mother? I thought you said that she’s waiting for me” Kaylene asked Marcus as she walked in the woods with him
“We will find her at home!” Marcus said to her but she still insisted on seeing her mother.
“Kaylene your mother is dead, some bad wolves killed her because they wanted to take you with them” Marcus said after her had squat so he could talk to Kaylene
“What? My mother is dead? No? No….” she said before she shrieked when she heard that falling to the ground before she sobbed. A strong wind started passing in the trees and shrubs we’re being pulled out of the ground.
“Kaylene! Calm down!” Marcus was shouting at Kaylene because the strong wind was pulling him off the ground, he tried to hold on but it was so strong that he was not managing to hold on because it was like a storm
Some of his wolfs were carried away by the wind.
The more Kaylene cried the more the wind became stronger, “Kaylene am your father!” Marcus shouted as he went to hold on to her tiny body
In a blink of an eye, the wind stopped and everything came crashing down the forest. “What did you say?” she asked him and swallowed hard “Am your fath.” he wanted to say but she had lost consciousness just there and then.

Kaylen’s POV
I woke up to a strange room, I felt like I had just experienced being run over by a car. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around I could hear them talking but I couldn’t recognize any of the voices.
I tried sitting up and the man who I met last night rushed to me helping me sit up.
“Hey!” he said hold my fragile body
“Where am I? I asked looking around the room and by the door stood a woman who was giving me a cold glare.
“You are at the Iron crest Pack! This will be your home now”
“My mother?” I asked again recalling last night’s conversation.
“Am so sorry Kaylene! We couldn’t wait for you so we buried her.” He said and I sobbed thinking about my mother.
“How long have I been here?” I asked him after the woman left
“Are you really my father?” I asked him looking closely at his face
“You are a witch so and you can be able to read my mind, why don’t you?” He asked me and I didn’t know anything about magic or how to do that, I was only 8 years old.
“I don’t know how to do that!” I replied looking down, “That’s fine am sure you will learn on how to do that” He assured me and I nodded my head.
“Why don’t you come and have something to eat. You haven’t eaten in days” He said getting of the bed and waiting for me.
“Alpha? Just a minute?” He was called out by some man and he asked me to wait for me.

Marcus’s POV
“What is it?” I asked Rhys my beta to tell me what was it that he stopped me
“I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring her out. People are uneasy to know that you brought a witch to the pack. And you want her to go and join everyone>? I would advise against that” He said not choosing his words.
“SO, tell me what do you suggest I do?” I asked him to see what he was thinking
“Keep her isolated until everything is ready” He said to me and I chuckled
“You know that she’s my daughter. I can’t do that” I said not agreeing to his suggestion
“Just think about it!” Rhys said walking away.
I turned to go back to the room “Marcus I know that you don’t like any of this but it’s for the best” He added on and I briefly turned my head before I entered the room where Kaylene was.
I asked Kaylene to come out and we walked to the dining room where the lunch was served and sat down. Everyone was quiet looking at me, they all thought I was not in my right mind. But they didn’t know that I was making sure that I have her by my side because she was a very important weapon in the war ahead, that’s why I had to even make Victor my ally even though he was a vampire.
