When she saw Lilly crying, Maisy stopped crying and took out her credit card while sobbing.
"Mommy, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lied to you. I bought the dress with this."
Maisy carefully observed Lilly's expression, but Melissa saw who the card owner was.
"Isn't this my brother's black card?"
"Uncle Damon said that this thing that can protect mommy and can buy beautiful things to make mommy happy, so I took it." Maisy lowered her head and said guiltily.
After all, she had promised Uncle Damon that this would be their secret.
After Lilly knew the whole story, she was moved and at the same time slightly guilty. Maisy had always been kind and adorable. How could she have accused Maisy of disobeying her?
"Maisy, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have accused you."
"I shouldn't have made mommy angry."
The warmth between the mother and daughter made Melissa slightly envious. In order not to let this atmosphere continue, she changed the subject.
"Maisy, what's with the handsome uncle you mentioned?"
Melissa had immediately rushed over when Maisy called her, but she did not see any handsome uncle.
Maisy's small eyes lit up immediately. She told them everything that had happened.
"Our Maisy is awesome!" Melissa gave Maisy a big kiss after listening to her story. Lilly was also happy when she heard about how clever her daughter was and how she did not get bullied.
"Mommy, if we really can't find Daddy, I think that handsome uncle will do." Maisy thought about his words and deeds today and felt that he would be a good match for her beautiful mommy.
Melissa did not seem too happy when she heard this, "Maisy dear, don't you want Uncle Damon anymore?"
"Well..." Maisy seemed a little torn. "Let's find Daddy first."
It was too difficult to choose between Uncle Damon and the handsome uncle!
"Melissa, take this back."
After putting Maisy to sleep, Lilly saw Melissa out and handed the credit card to her.
Melissa did not accept it immediately and tried to continue match-making Lilly with her brother, who was still abroad.
But Lilly shook her head. "Melissa, you know me. I don't want to think about getting into any relationships now. I just want to find Maisy's father."
In fact, deep in her heart, she no longer believed that there was love in this world.
After all, her father's betrayal was so blatant.
Seeing Lilly's stubbornness, Melissa accepted the card and left her with some reassuring words before leaving,
"Lilly, Maisy will surely grow up safe and well."
