Chapter 21

“I want all the guards here now.” Arianna ordered her voice of anger echoed through the whole village. Soldiers hastily gathered in front of Arianna and she held the chain tight as she waited for all of them. “What is the meaning of this?” Arianna asked, throwing the chain in front of the soldiers and their captain, Morgan. “What is this, my Queen?” asked Captain Morgan which boiled Arianna’s anger. “You got the nerve to ask me that?!!! Amara was here and you didn’t know?” All the soldiers were surprised upon hearing the Queen. They glanced at each other as they whispered. “There is a limit to how much one can use an ice-based magic but in Amara’s case, her ice magic never melts and that’s the proof that she was here and I know full well the aura of her magic.” The soldiers bowed their head as Arianna raises her voice. “Search the whole village and all the houses don’t leave anything unturned.” The soldiers scattered upon the orders of their Queen. Each of them searches all the houses of the Village and Captain Morgan with a few men behind him barge into Koro’s house. They searched each corner of the house including Koro’s room. “There’s nothing here captain.” Said one of the guards but as Captain Morgan stood inside Koro’s room, he felt a soft breeze of air from underneath. Frowning, Captain Morgan lifted the carpet and there he saw a hidden passage. They ran back to Arianna who was impatiently waiting for their reports inside the mansion. Seeing the captain, Arianna waited for his report, anticipating about Amara’s whereabouts. Captain Morgan kneel with one knee before Arianna and said, “My Queen, there’s no trace left of Amara but we found a secret tunnel at the house of the former village leader. My suspicion is he might have helped her escape.” “Find him and bring him to me.” Arianna ordered. Captain Morgan stood and leads his men to arrest Koro. ~~~~~  Koro heard the commotion among the soldiers in the Green Village. He kept himself hidden the entire time not wanting to get the attention of the soldiers. “Did you find him?” “Not a trace.” Koro frowned. ‘I wonder who they’re looking for.’ Koro thought to himself. “Find Koro at all cost.” The captain ordered and upon hearing his name Koro’s eyes grew wide. ‘I need to get out of here somehow.’ Koro thought as he silently slips away from the village. With each step he takes, he made sure he wasn’t making any noise. But too much caution leads to his undoing. As he moves forward, he keeps on looking back until he reaches the corner where he encountered a few soldiers. At the sight of the soldiers Koro tried to fight back. Using the little magic he had, Koro put up a wall using his earth-based magic. They countered Koro’s magic with their own. One of the soldiers used water-based magic turning Koro’s solid soil to mud. Upon liquefying Koro’s magic, the other soldier used a fire-based magic to launch a counter against Koro. Koro blocked the attack with his earth-based magic but the more he uses his magic, the weaker he gets. Knowing that he’s almost at his limit, Koro crossed his arms and used the remnants his magic. Koro pointed his right arm up forming an angle and slowly trapping the soldiers’ body into solid soil. Koro knows that this won’t be enough to defeat them but it will give him some time to escape. The soldier tried to break free but Koro’s magic was quick enough to trap them. When he completely solidified their bodies, Koro took this moment to run without looking back. Seeing the edge of the village Koro doubled his pace but when he was one step away from the outside, a black smoke circled around his body, binding them and enabling him to move. Koro tried to wiggle himself free but the black smoke lifted him through the air pulling him back into the village and into the mansion. Making a circular motion with her finger, Koro’s body turned around facing Arianna. “You must be Koro; the former village leader. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Arianna greeted with a smile on her face. Upon seeing Arianna’s face, Koro’s eyes were filled with rage at the sight of the woman who destroyed their once peaceful village. “How dare you show your face here, fake Queen.” Koro said through gritted teeth his heart racing with too much anger. But as a response, Arianna laughed at him; a laugh so evil that it can be felt in the entire village. “Oh come on Koro, you’re hurting my feelings. I may be an evil Queen but I was never fake.” Arianna grinned, her eyes looking at Koro with too much malice. “You must be wondering why I had you pursued, Koro?” Arianna started. “Well, I just found out that my sister was here earlier. Do you know where she is?” Arianna asked and waited patiently for Koro to answer but seconds turned to minutes and Koro never said a word, instead, he just stared at her with pure anger and hatred. “I am asking you about Amara, in a calm and nice manner Koro, and I’m only doing it once.” Arianna warned, her patience slowly fading. “Go to hell.” Koro answered instead. All the soldiers present had their eyes grew wide but Arianna smiled. Her smile turned into a chuckle and into an evil laugh that echoed through the whole mansion. Arianna stood up from her seat and walked closer to Koro. Using her magic, Arianna made Koro fall on both knees. As she stood before Koro, she leaned her body closer to Koro and whispered, “Go to hell, you say. I rose from the depths of the underworld Koro, I’ve been there.” Arianna stood up straight, looking down on Koro. “I have a really small patience Koro and I don’t think I have spare time to baby you. Now tell me, do you know where Amara is?” When Arianna realized that Koro isn’t gonna say anything, she kicked him. Koro was pushed back with blood coming out from his mouth. Arianna formed her hand into fist and as she does so, the black smoke binding Koro’s body tightened. Pointing her finger up, Koro was lifted to the air. With a hand gesture from Arianna, Koro’s body was slammed from one side of the wall to the other. Seeing the walls cracking Captain Morgan walked over to Arianna and said, “My Queen, at this rate the mansion will collapse.” Arianna glanced over to her shoulder and Captain Morgan quivered in fear when he saw Arianna’s fully black-colored eyes. Captain Morgan stumbled back and bowed his head, “My apologies my Queen.” Arianna turned her head to Koro who’s now bleeding all over his face and smiled. “It’s gonna be a loooooong night for you Koro.”
