CHAPTER 5

ADRIK’S POV

I got off the phone with my friend Artemii and entered the car. Lyova sat at the driver's seat while Maks rode shotgun.

We drove out of the airport and the car carrying my best female Assassin's Lyudmila and Svetlana stayed behind us.

Mama and the rest had landed two days prior but I stayed back with the squad to tidy up things in Russia.

The car pulled in the driveway and I stepped out of the car. Agrafena and her maids were at the door along with the security guards. I greeted her and she introduced my personal maid Genevieve or something like that.

I wanted to head straight to my office and look at the camera placements. I walked into the house and felt eyes on me. I stopped in my tracks and turned to the direction I felt a presence.

Someone was standing behind the wall and I wanted to know who it was. I walked to the place the person stood when I heard my name.

"Adrik" I halted and turned to see my mother.

"Mother" I greeted and took another step to where I was going.

"No hugs for your mother?" I sighed and with one last look at the wall, turned to my mother. I engulfed her in my arms and gave her a kiss on her head.

"Brother" I turned to see a happy Agnia. She jumped into my arms and I twirled her around. She giggled and I smiled at her.

"I missed you"

"You saw him two days ago" my mother gave her a pointed look. She ignored mama and held onto my arms. Ksenia gave me a kiss on the cheeks and Faddei, a man hug.

"Big brother" Ekaterina hugged me and her husband nodded at me. I gave him a nod and turned my focus to Agnia who was pulling my arm.

"Let him rest. He just got back" she whined. I let her pull me away until we got to my wing of the house.

"I'll let you rest before I come for my gifts" I chuckled and patted her head. She turned and left me alone. I went straight to my office to watch the camera footage.

Nothing major happened in the house. I paused the footage when I saw Colton in a compromising situation with a maid. Said maid who was looking at the cameras discreetly. It wasn't obvious but if you looked well you would see her doing it.

I shook my head. Ekaterina sure knew how to pick them. I didn't necessarily like him and I was waiting for him to f**k up so I could get rid of him.

I was intrigued when I saw her knee him in the balls. She bent down to whisper something into his ear before sauntering out, shaking her plump ass.

I watched more of the footage and saw her hiding behind a wall. So she was the one behind the wall. I captured her face and printed a picture.

I pressed a button and few moments later, Lyova came in. I handed him the picture.

"I want everything on this girl"

"Yes boss"

I looked at her face once more before I left for my room.

A couple of days passed and I focused on work. Controlling the family and getting ready for my shipments. The first of them all would be arriving tomorrow and only few people knew about it.

It was nothing major but it was still important. The door opened and Lyova came in. He dropped a manila envelope on my table and sat down.

"I did a check on the girl like you asked"

I opened the envelope and pulled out the paper inside.

"She doesn't exist" I glanced through the paper and true. She wasn't in any database.

"I asked Agrafena about her. She says her name is Maia. No last name. Showed up here about four years ago asking for a job and has worked here since. She keeps to herself too" I hummed.

She was hiding something. Taking notes of the camera in the hallways and then the incident with Colton and now this.

"Keep an eye on her. Don't get close just watch her" he nodded and left the room. I looked at the paper again and put it in my drawer.

There was a party tonight and I was hosting. I had a shower and dresses for the party.

I stood aside from everyone and watched with a hawks eye. Dons present came to pay homage. I scanned the room for Maia and found her.

I trained my eyes on her while I received guests

My eyes followed her until she stopped a few metres away from where I stood. She didn't notice I was watching her. She was more concerned with my guests. Vixen.

Denzel came and I groaned inwardly. He kept on talking and laughing by himself while I ignored him. I signalled for a guard to escort him out of my presence.

Maia followed him and served him a drink before going over to another maid.

"You look lost" I turned to Arremii and turned back to the maid.

"You're late" I said.

"I have news" I signalled Lyova to watch her and I led him out of the room.

He handed me some documents "They are bankrupt and want to sell. I thought you might be interested" I smiled. He knew me well.

I stayed in my office for a majority of the party watching through the CCTV. I went downstairs towards the end and called Lyova.

"Nothing unusual. Just talked with another maid and continued serving guests" I nodded and dismissed him.

I went back to my office and watched the maids clean up. Well one maid. Maia. She intrigued me

Moving stealthy and calculated like a trained assassin.

Two days went in a blur. I was working on some sheets when I received a call.

"The shipment was compromised"

"кем" (by whom?)

"Denzel"

"Get him. And investigate. Gather all the suspects in the basement in the next one hour"

I swore under my breath. Barely a month here and I had to teach people lessons on loyalty. I got the call and headed to the basement folding the sleeves of my shirt.

Denzel was bloodied and tied up. A security guard was kneeling with a bloody face. A maid was sobbing while Lyudmila dealt with her.

"Maks"

"Denzel says he received a call from the girl he spent time with at the party concerning the shipment. She denies doing anything like that but she's f*****g a guard who knew about the shipment"

I looked at the girl bored. She was sobbing and Lyudmila was dealing with her. I was not concerned about the shipment. But I was concerned about teaching loyalty.

"Get the other girls here" I stood in the corner and watched silently. The girls were brought inside but two were still not there.

They were dragged in a few minutes later and pushed on the floor my eyes focused on one person. She picked herself from the floor before looking around. Her eyes stopping on the bloody people in the room.

She stopped on the maid and smiled. She looked up and our eyes met. She dropped the smile and looked down.

"You know the rules. Disloyalty is not an option in this household"

"I didn't do it. I have no idea what you're talking about" the maid was sobbing.

Lyudmila gave her a punch and the sickening crack of a broken jaw was heard. Blood poured from her mouth and a bruise was starting to form.

"You're f*****g a guard who knew about the shipment and you've been blabbing about leaving this place" Svetlana spoke up.

"I said those things but I didn't do it" she was sobbing.

"Fine. I believe you" I spoke.

"Don...." Lyudmila spoke up.

"Untie her" the guards untied her and she stood up.

"Thank you" she stood shaking and trying to hold in her sobs.

"I'll ask for the last time. What did you tell Denzel?" I said calmly.

"I swear I....." BANG! She screamed and the other girls screamed- except Maia- her boy toy fell lifeless on the ground blood oozing through the hole in his head. I looked around bored. I was getting tired of this s**t.

She sobbed louder and hugged herself tightly. She was shaking and I saw the fear in her eyes.

"Ahhh.. I'm feeling forgiving today. You say you didn't do it?" She nodded.

"You'll walk over to your friends and you'll not look back. She nodded quickly and walked to them. When she was a few inches away, I placed my hands on my gun.

I fired the gun then I heard the screams. She was close enough to where the others stood and the blood splashed on them. She didn't even flinch as the blood touched her and the others. She gave her an evil smile before she fell. A maid threw up and the others were trying to clean the blood from their faces.

"This is a lesson to any one who crosses me" my tone was deadly.

"Get the f**k out" the girls hurried to leave the room and she helped the maid that threw up. I caught her eye once more before she left the basement.
