Jaime pov
The next day was a training day. We will have our sessions with council members, Wilma and Alec. I was hoping that it would be just another normal day for us. Do combat training with council member Alec and then after breakfast, have training sessions with council member Wilma.
All of us were there on time. Council Member Alec soon ordered us to line up. What I didn’t expect was to find the she-wolf here with us. She wasn’t here to train with the knights. She was just here to watch us train.
Even her sight angers me. We were asked to warm up, 10 laps around the training grounds.
I saw her talking with our trainer Alec. Why does she have to be so close to all of them? I huffed at her as I ran. I bet she is one pathetic and weak woman. She most probably didn’t even know how to fight. Even if she did, she certainly cannot cast any spells.
We did our laps and carried on with our usual training. Then came the most interesting part. Sparring. I am the best female warrior there is in our army. Sophia watched me spar and defeat all the females. I smirked and looked in her direction.
She did not look impressed. She most certainly didn’t look happy. I huffed at her. She doesn’t know anything. She looked at us and then said something to council member Alec. He nodded and they left together.
Combat training was over for today. All the Knights went to the Knight's quarters to take a shower and go to the mess hall for breakfast. We will have to hurry because council member Wilma will be waiting for us. And she doesn’t like latecomers.
Sophie pov
The knights were good. But I think they can do better. I went into the palace enchanted palace. I still have to get used to the magical realm.
“Sophie.” I heard Kira call me. I turned around she was waiting for me beside a door.
“Come here. Everyone is waiting for you.” She said.
I walked towards her. “come on.” She said and I followed her. She led me down a flight of stairs that led me to an illuminated underground garden. Trees were glowing magically. The whole place was covered in green grass.
“Wow.” I gasped. “What is this place?” I asked awestruck.
She smiled and pointed to the centre of the garden, where Wilma and Luke were already standing. A sword, the sword of honour was placed in its place.
Our parents and his sister were also there.
“Please come Queen Sophia,” Wilma called me. Luke was smiling at me.
This looks like an important meeting. I walked towards them. I didn’t have even the slightest idea of what was going on. I just trusted them as much as I would trust myself.
“This is the gateway to Makekali my queen,” Wilma said, her voice echoed with the powerful aura she emitted.
The what? I thought.
“The Makekali is a very special place for all of us witches and wizards. It is where the magic originates. And today we will take you there queen Sophia. You are our queen. The Lord has chosen you as our queen and our king's mate and now it is time for you to attain the powers of the queen.” She said.
My mouth hung open. My eyes travelled to my parents. Mom was close to tears and dad had pride written all over his face. I felt Luke hold my hand and squeeze it.
Powers of the queen. Wow. This is going to be interesting.
“Hold hands, everyone. We are going to go on a wonderful journey.” Wilma said.
I took a deep breath and held hands with Luke and Kira. All of us, including our parents and his sister and her mate, were holding hands and forming a circle. I felt a little anxious. But as long as I’m with these people, I will be fine. I smiled at them and soon a bright white light blinded us all.
I felt myself being lifted and transferred. I felt like I was flying. Finally, my feet landed on the ground and the white light that blinded us faded away.
I looked around. I was in a magical place with a rainbow coloured waterfall.
I tilted my hand and looked at it. “it's flowing upwards!” I exclaimed. “Wow, this place is....awesome.” I gasped.
I heard Luke chuckle. I looked behind me where everyone else was. All the wolves were in awe while the others were amused by our reactions.
“Now, I want Sophia to come with me,” Wilma said. I followed her and she took me towards the waterfall.
“Drink a handful of the water. Just a handful ok?” she said and I nodded.
I put my hand into the colourful water and took a handful to drink it. It was so sweet and delicious. Not like any water I have ever had. I licked my lips as my taste buds craved for more. But Wilma had said just one. I turned around and stared at her.
She smiled. “Excellent.” She walked away. “Follow me.” I followed her. Suddenly I started to feel different. I felt more energetic and lighter. Wilma turned around and looked at me.
“How are you feeling my queen.” She asked.
I took a deep breath. “Different,” I told her.
She smiled. “You will soon receive your powers as the queen.” She said and looked up at the heavens.
My eyes followed hers. Everything seemed normal to me. I kept my gaze fixed on the sky. Then I saw it.
A glowing light was coming down towards me. No. There was something else. What was that? It looked like a fairy with wings. I felt a sudden urge to grab it. I lifted my hand towards it. I felt like I was floating towards it. I couldn’t look what was happening, my conscience was telling me to get hold of that light. Soon I reached it. I smiled as I managed to touch the light. I watched in awe as the light spread from my hand throughout my body until my whole body was engulfed in it.
Luke pov.
I know I have had a fair share of my powers and adventures. But watching the love of my life receive hers was something else.
“Look at her!” I heard her mother gasp. None of us could take our eyes off her. She floated towards the ball of power. The power ball completely engulfed her in it.
“Wow.” I heard my mom gasp. All of us were astonished. She stayed like that for a good amount of time until finally, she was back to normal. But her grey eyes were now glowing silver, just like mine.
She spread her arms and landed perfectly on the ground.
She closed her eyes and when she opened it, it was back to her normal grey ones.
She looked at us. “I can float?!!!!” she exclaimed.
I grinned at her.
Wilma chuckled. “I think you can use magic to some extent. I will have to see how much.” She said.
Sophie grinned and walked towards her parents, who gave her a crushing hug.
“My baby. Be the best queen ever. Ok?” her mom said proudly. Her dad also patted her on the back. “We already are proud of you.” He said. I watched her from a distance as one by one went to congratulate her.
My Sophie. My queen. Now she wouldn’t have to be worried about not having powers. After all, she is the queen of this realm. If she is my soulmate, she must be chosen by the lord to be the queen for this reign.
We came back to the realm. We couldn’t spend much time there as it was time for the Knights’ training sessions.
“We will have a separate session for the royals. But I would suggest you come and watch.” Wilma said.
She nodded. “Will you come Luke?” she asked.
“Sure. Why not?” I said. My dad cleared his throat.
“We will be leaving to go to the pack this evening. We are here since we came for Kira’s wedding.” Dad said.
“And had an unexpected coronation while we were at it.” Joked Zane, the beta and my sister’s mate.
I chuckled and looked at my beautiful mate. She blushed a little.
I smirked. “Of course. Let’s have a picnic before you leave. Just like we used to.” I said.
Sophie nodded frantically. “Yes yes. After training?” she asked.
“Yeah. Why not.” I said.
"We will make the necessary preparations. meet us after the training." my sister Aisha said.
I took my mate’s hand and led her towards the ground where Wilma holds her training sessions.
