Chapter 6

I had to keep my self busy just to get him out of my head. And yet I failed. Not by free will but I had to leave him at peace. And it really bothered me why I have to do this, to leaving him like that because he doesn't need me and my security. Yesterday I got a phone call from Sir Arthur. And he told me to have my early vacation and leave the young Abellioni. And it made me nut thinking about what happened that day, this is the first I was cut on my mission. And seriously I was forced to leave my assignment. The heck! I tried so hard to think what was the possible things happened, it played and played again in my mind that moment we were on that place. Why he despised me to the core and even asked for my replacement. I actually don't care if he did that thing at all, even I was replaced by new agent. But the possibility of the Abellionis might lead me to the Arachnidos was huge. Why I am so desperate for this one. They could be a huge help, the case could lead me to this organization I can feel it. I dialled Kairo's number. I badly needed to know what the hell is happening. "..Axl.." he greeted. "Kairo, I was cut out. What happened? Why I was replaced? " I asked him, he should have a good and valid reason. He sighed deeply then silence filled my ear and I was thinking he hung the call or what. But then he spoke after a while. "..The young Abellioni doesn't want you to be his bodyguard.." Kairo finally spilled it. "Ever since the first day, he dislikes me being his security but still I made it to be his lady bodyguard." I made a pause. "What the sudden changed of heart? And now I was replaced without a better and valid explanation? I just woke up one morning that I wasn't part of the operation." still trying my best to calm down. "..That's the client's request. Anyway you'll have soon your newest case.." he said in his monotone. "This is my first unfinished business Kairo.. you know that." I irate said. Even I bruised and disclocated the bones of that childish client of mine. I did my best to finish that case. But now I don't think I did any violations. I could have get some merits for saving the i***t's life. "..I know Axl. Chill, okay? If you like you can take a vacation. Go to the beach or out of the country. When the old case has done then we could work together again.." he suggested. But his suggestion was totally a piece of crap. "That's bullshit!" I dropped the call. I wasn't born yesterday to follow their order of early vacation not that this case is more hotter than the beaches. And out of the country? Was he out of his mind. Kairo was definitely in need of vacation not me. I would find my own answer. If no one could give me a valid explanation then no one could stop me from this assignment. I could make a deal by working with Kairo instead, securing the old Abellioni as long as I am still part of this operation. But not after I have a talk with that kiddo, he has to give me a legit reason. I need that. As far as my knowledge concern, today he'll get discharged from the hospital and probably home at the moment. I watched them from afar, as his friends leaving one by one. Like what Violet has told me he's got discharged. I left my bike and fully motivated to do my plan. I walked past the two agents outside before I reached his main door. "Axl." Toxic nodded when he recognized my presence. So he's got the position. "What are you doing here? You forgot something?" he opened the door widely enough for me to enter. "Yeah, I left my stuff." this is great, I murmured to myself when I hassled free on coming in. "I'll go get my things." I told him. "Make it fast. Mr. Zero Abellioni was still recovering from his trauma." Toxic said as if giving me a warning. I shrugged and took the staircases. I found his room and not even minding of being polite as I stormed in. It's not locked so it means it all right to intrude. "What the hell are you doing here?" he rose from his bed in an angry manner. He was fuming mad in a simple word. "What is your problem with me?" couldn't help to raise my question. "Why you have need to replace me for a new bodyguard?" "I don't need to explain it to you. Your job with me was done. I don't need your service anymore." he said humourlessly as he left his bed. He almost naked in my face, he was only with his boxers on. As he closed the distance between the fridge and took his water. "I did my job." I told him matter of factly. "And here I thought you were smart? But I was wrong." he said while placing down the emptied bottled water. "You're already paid or you want an addtional p*****t for your service?" he was insulting me for gracious' sake! "Damn you! I did my job with my pride." I said through gritted teeth. "Then leave with your pride." he strode to his door and opened it widely for me. "I saved your life. I almost shielded you by myself just to make you safe." I know it's my job and I don't need to brag it out to him. But for some reason I want to scream those fact into his face if he's memory failed him to remember that awful day. "Yes, you saved my life and I am very grateful to that." his jaw ticked as those words escaped his mouth. "But you left me almost dying in that hospital!" he lost it. "You couldn't wait for my death before leaving me there?" he laughed nonchalantly. "You know what's the feeling when you're on the verge of death and no one was there for you?" I froze and stared at his black orbs. "I-I was there outside until you fell into a deep sleep. I left you when the doctor's assured me that you're stable and need rest." I heard him curse. He blew a loud breath rapidly, countlessly. "But you're not there when I wake up." he whispered. "I have to.. I have to go back at that bar, because I know it could lead me to them. I needed information to sum up." I said breathily. Why do I need to explain my side? "Was that the reason why you wanted to replace me with a new agent?" "N-no." he could not meet my eyes suddenly. His face was void of darkness that I have seen earlier. He looked like a deer who caught in the lights. "I'm going to talk with agent Toxic. He should leave now and I'll take care of Mr. Gerard Abellioni." I wouldn't give up to this case. I needed him too. "Why? He's my new bodyguard now." he said still in a steely voice. "I am still your bodyguard, Zero. I wasn't that type who leaves mess, I want everything fall into its right places before leaving them. So I can professionally move to my next case." I told him in a serious tone. Positive and determined. "Just leave." he lied back onto his bed. "If I were you I'll go change my new client or case, you better leave me alone. You can't handle me, Axl." "Try me Zero Abellioni." challenging him. No one dared to stop the staring competition. But then I feel the victory when he averted his gaze. "Just leave me alone. I don't have business with you." he emotionless said. "Bear with me Zero." I told him. I left him speechless. I guessed that's a good sign. He didn't say anything else so it means I'm still his bodyguard. I won the battle of the survival challenge. I have a word with agent Toxic and to make my report to Sir Arthur. No one and not this case could me make me tame. He's only a challenge to me and to my craft. Dealing with Zero was like dealing with a seven year old kid. I stayed as his bodyguard but he really was a pain in the ass. I already told his father about the misunderstanding happened between us and that I'm still Zero's lady bodyguard. And have meeting with my superior that I will stay as the bodyguard of the young Abellioni. Zero remained this jerk even I have explained my side of story, why I wasn't there when his conscious back. He never started a conversation unless I initiated it. He made me feel the rudeness within him and I felt like this is the real Zero Abellioni without pretentions. I was pulled out of my reverie when I heard a familiar melody. A piano piece. Unconsciously I was leading by my feet to somewhere I don't know. The familar music brought me into a place, an abyss perhaps. I wasn't aware with this strange place, this really amazed and amused me at the same time. Coz this was not included in the blue prints of the house. The piece still playing. And it made more crystal clear to my ears as I followed the melody. I found him sitting on his piano and gracefully hitting the keys. I closed my eyes and feel the notes. Remembering the old days of my college life. This was the piece, the piece that my past's favorite to play. And the same music we played on that very mournful day. "Is that your habit? Invading others privacy?" I opened my eyes when reality hit me. He was finished with his piece and now standing there with a narrowed eyes. "Nine crimes." I whispered and stared at his music instrument. "You know that song?" he asked and that made me looked back to him. "Been heard before." I said quietly. He nodded and didn't say a thing. Then he sighed. "You're not allowed to go down here. This is my sacred place and no one is allowed to be here." he said that with pure intensity in his black orbs. "I don't want to invade your privacy. It was just I heard a familiar music to my ears." I defended. "Good. Let's go upstairs." he said dismissively and took his steps. But my stubborn eyes wandered at his music room. Different music instruments are present in this heaven, a modern type. But there's something with his piano. It looked different from the others. "Axl! What took you so long?" I jumped at the rudeness of his voice. He's been back being quiet again. He never spoke to me once after the said conversation we had in his music room. I cleared my throat to get his attention again. And luckily his dead eyes paid me a glance. "Aren't you have plans?" I asked without thinking. "It has been a days when I got discharged from the hospital. And yet you wanted me to get back to work? Really Axl? You're smarter than that." he said sarcastically. "No, I meant you've been quiet for sometime." I'm not used to his silent treatment. His dark orbs penetrated to mine but never uttered a word or two. He continued his food and I was just here feeling so bored about it, about everything for unknown reason. The next day it was still the same ambience that we had from the last time. He loathed my presence that much even after all the talks and efforts I did and I was like a despearate agent watching his moody side. Good gracious my phone has saved me from this boredom spell. "Yes agent Kairo?" I answered the call immediately. "..You will start to train him as soon as he fully recovered.." his first statement. "I will train Zero?" I rose from my seat. Did I hear him right? "..Yes. His father thinks it is better for him if he will know how to defend himself. Now that he's in this situation.." he said flatly. "I understand. He really needs to learn basic." I agreed with him. His father made a right decision. I know the enemies probably watching our every move. Why Mr. Gerard Abellioni wanted me to train his son. Why his father is so eager to protect his son at all cost. "..Axl.." I heard the changes in Kairo's voice. "..Sniper contacted me and he told me about everything.." he sighed. "He acted like a p***y again. Couldn't shut his mouth." I whispered more to myself. "Kairo it's a failed mission-" but he cut me off. "..Arachnidos is a very dangerous organization. They are full of Assassins. They are well trained to kill people.." he sounded too serious. "..Don't do stupid things Axl. They are not the people you wanted to meet in the future. They are very dangerous people. Just stay focus to your job, to Elite. Don't engage yoursef with these dangerous people.." his litanies again. "Kairo calm your t**s. I haven't doing anything yet, okay?" I said irritated. "You don't have to remind me over and over again. I know what I'm up to. I know who they are and what the extent of their connections." ever since I learned about that organization I knew it. "..I was worried Axl. Don't get me wrong.." the concern was evident in his voice. I know he was just concerned but I don't need it this time. I have this feeling that the enemy is just near. And the abellionis will going to lead me with them. "Thanks for the concern, Kairo. But you know how much I have waited for this time to come." my grip tightened to my phone. "..Okay. Just inform me if you found out something. Please Axl.." he said pleadingly. "Fine." I ended the call. That was one of my biggest mistakes way back. I was weak asking for anybody's help and shoulders. And that people who helped me out were kairo and Sniper. They know the story behind of Arachnidos and how I loved to cut its legs.
