Chapter Two

1809 Words
We go to the house where the witches were massacred and find Bonnie, Jeremy, Stefan, and Elijah waiting for us. Stefan: “Hey, Allison, Damon called. He saved Caroline and Tyler. Caroline and Matt went with Tyler to help him during the full moon.” Allison: “Thank god she’s not being sacrificed.” Alaric goes inside with Jeremy while Bonnie comes outside with us. Stefan: “Klaus took Jenna.” Bonnie: “Why did he take Jenna?” Elijah: “A punishment for meddling.” Allison: “He’s a psycho.” Stefan: “Klaus was going to use Tyler and Caroline. But Damon rescued them.” Bonnie: “Then we need to go. Now. Before Jenna’s been sacrificed. I can kill Klaus myself.” Stefan: “Bonnie… if you use that much power, you’ll die. We’ve already been through this. It’s not an option.” Bonnie: “Neither is letting Jenna die.” Elijah: “Well, Stefan would agree with you.” Stefan: “We’re going to offer him another vampire. One that he’ll want more. Me.” Allison: “Stefan, you can’t be serious. Elena wouldn’t want you to sacrifice yourself.” Stefan: “I know, but she also wouldn’t want Jeremy to be left alone. No matter what we do, someone will have to die, and I’d rather sacrifice myself than let anyone else die.” Allison: “This is insane. I can’t believe we are even having this conversation right now. It shouldn’t have to be this way.” I walk away before he can reply. I go inside the old, shabby place and try to hold myself together by pacing, frustrated that there’s not a damn thing I can do about any of this. Damon and John Gilbert arrive and are filled in on what’s been happening here. Elijah joins me in the room I am pacing in. Elijah: “I was hoping I might be able to talk to you for a moment, Allison.” Allison: “Well, it’s not as if I’m going anywhere. What would you like to talk about?” Elijah: “I just wanted to say, if, for some reason, we do fail tonight, and Niklaus survives, you should know that you won’t be able to stay in Mystic Falls. He has been searching for you longer than he has the doppelganger.” Allison: “Why on earth would he be searching for me? I’m just a normal human.” Elijah: “If he dies, it won’t matter.” Allison: “Elijah, thank you for the warning. Even if it only raises some questions. I know you didn’t have to tell me that.” Elijah: “You’re welcome.” Then Bonnie comes upstairs. Elijah: “It’s time.” Alaric: “I’ve got weapons in the car.” Elijah: “Bonnie’s the only weapon we need.” We head for the exit, but Alaric and I are trapped inside by an invisible force. Allison: “Hey, what the heck?!” Alaric: “Bonnie! What is this?” Bonnie: “I can’t put anyone else at risk.” Alaric: “I can’t stay here with Jenna out there!” Allison: “We can’t let our friends die.” Bonnie: “I’m sorry.” Allison: “You can’t do this!” Alaric: “Damon?” Damon: “Sorry guys. She’s right.” Alaric: “No! You can’t do this!” A&A: “Bonnie! Bonnie!” We are both very pissed off. Allison: “Here we go again. Left on the sidelines. Just because we are human.” Alaric: “I see why you’re always so pouty and grumpy now. You get to help make the plan, but they won’t let you participate.” Allison: “Yup, and now you get a taste of it too.” Alaric and I decide to go into the basement with John and Jeremy since we can’t leave the house. After waiting all night, it is finally daytime when we hear footsteps upstairs. Alaric: “I think they’re here.” We run upstairs to find Damon with Elena. Jeremy: “How is she?” Damon: “I don’t know yet.” Alaric: “What about Jenna?” Damon looks back at us with a sad, apologetic look. Alaric: “No.” Damon: “I’m sorry, Jeremy.” He looks back at Elena. A few seconds pass before Elena gasps for air as she returns to life. Damon: “Elena!” Jeremy quickly moves to her side. Jeremy: “Hey!” Elena: “What happened?” Damon: “How do you feel?” Elena: “I feel fine.” We each let out sighs of relief we hadn’t realized any of us were holding. Allison: “Damon, what happened?” Damon: “We failed. Elijah betrayed us. He saved Klaus from Bonnie.” I look down, crying, knowing Jenna and Elena’s sacrifices were for nothing. I immediately head out the door, needing to find my sister to make sure she is okay, but find John’s dead body on the ground. Once Damon has taken care of John and Jenna, I call my sister multiple times but can’t seem to get through to her. Eventually, she finally picks up, and I’m so relieved she is alive that I can’t help but cry. I meet up with Caroline, and we get ready for Jenna’s funeral with our friends. The next day, Caroline insists on us seeing Gone With the Wind to escape the drama. She spent the night with me because our mom knows about her being a vampire and can’t stand to look at her. My mom is also dodging my calls. I can only assume she knows I know and am still helping my sister. Caroline and I bring a bunch of food and drinks for the movie, while Jeremy and Elena bring a blanket and some food. I excuse myself to use the restroom about halfway through the film. As I walk out of the bathroom, however, someone grabs my arm and turns me around to come face-to-face with Klaus. Klaus: “Hello, love.” Allison: “Klaus, what do you want?” Klaus: “Nothing but the pleasure of your company.” Allison: “And why would I give you that after what you did to my friends and sister?” Klaus: “I did not know Caroline was your sister then. But you will come with me because you don’t have a choice.” He forcefully takes me with him to Alaric’s apartment. Along the way, Elijah is by my side. Elijah: “I did warn you, Allison.” Allison: “I know, but rather than run, I stayed to be sure nothing would happen to my family.” Klaus: “And yet you are the only one who does not have to fear me. The worst thing I would have done to get you would have been to hold your sister hostage.” Allison: “And I would have feared for her life and come for her like you wanted me to. But I prefer thinking ahead and ensuring my family and friends are safe.” Klaus: “That’s what I like about you. So much more than a pretty face.” Elijah: “I believe we are here, brother.” Klaus: “So we are.” Klaus opens the door, letting us walk in. Not that I have much choice. Katherine: “Klaus, you’re back. Look who decided to come for a visit.” She pulls Stefan out from behind the other side of the wall while Elijah shuts the door behind us. Klaus: “You just keep popping up, don’t you?” Stefan: “I need your help for my brother.” Klaus: “Well, whatever it is, he’s gonna have to wait for a tick. You see, I have an obligation to my brother that requires my immediate attention.” Klaus walks past him, and I sit on the couch, knowing there’s nothing else for me to do. However, sitting down, I realize my phone is still in my pocket. I completely forgot I had it on me, but I powered it down because of the movie I was supposed to be watching right now. I’ll just have to wait for a moment to turn it on and call for help. Elijah: “You understand how important family is, or you wouldn’t be here. My brother gave me his word that he would reunite me with my own.” Klaus appears behind Elijah. Klaus: “And so I shall.” Elijah quickly turns around to face him, only to be stabbed in the chest by Klaus, making me gasp. He lets Elijah fall to the floor and then vamp-speeds, shoving Stefan to a wall and holding him by his throat. Klaus: “Now, what am I gonna do with you?” He lets go of Stefan’s throat and stabs him in the chest with a wooden stake. I fear for Stefan’s life, but I know I don’t stand a chance against Klaus alone. Stefan is groaning in pain, and I’m struggling not to try to help him. Klaus: “Do you feel that? It’s scraping against your heart. The slightest little movement and you’re dead.” Allison: “He’s just trying to help his brother. Please, Klaus.” Stefan: “The witches said you had a cure. Make me a deal. Just give me the cure, and I’ll do whatever you want.” Klaus takes the stake out of Stefan, and he falls to the floor. Klaus walks over to the kitchen island, pouring blood from a blood bag into a cup. Klaus: “Trouble is, I don’t know if you’d be any good to me the way you are now. You are just shy of useless.” He walks back over to Stefan, squatting down to his level. Klaus: “I heard about this one vampire, crazy bloke, always on and off the wagon for decades. When he was off, he was magnificent. 1917,[stands up] he went into Monterey and wiped out an entire migrant village…a true ripper. Sound familiar?” Stefan: “I haven’t been that way in a very long time.” Klaus: “Well, that’s the vampire I can make a deal with. I can use this kind of talent when I leave this town. Katerina, come here.” Stefan stands up as Katherine walks over to Klaus, putting her hand in his extended hand. He quickly grabs her hand, extends his wolf fangs, and bites her wrist. Katherine: “No. No. No.” Klaus bites his wrist and force-feeds her his blood, curing his werewolf bite. Klaus: “You want your cure? There it is.” Stefan: “Your blood is the cure.” Klaus: “Gotta love mother nature. Now…let’s talk, you and I.”
