9. This is So Inhumane!!!!

Prince William's POV

"As the King of the Great Midvalley Kingdom, I am not ready to endure such dishonored behavior and I don't want to see such kind of people in my kingdom anymore. Therefore Arya Gilbert my verdict for you is You will be Banned from my Kingdom forever. " Edward stated.

The whole courtroom was hushed for about 2 seconds. It took some time for all of us to realize what the King just said

I clenched arms of the chair so tightly, trying to control myself. I couldn't even think of how should I react to the situation.

I knew the Verdict Edward going to give for Aron. But this... he didn't even mention about this in the council meeting. It's true he is the King. He can take decisions, still, how can he ban someone just for misleading the inquiry. It is so unfair and inhumane.

I looked at Arya. She was just staring at Edward. She appeared so lifeless and she was just standing up because two soldiers were holding her from both sides.

Her face was expressionless. Her eyes just focus on Edward's face. I remembered how beautifully she smiled the moment Ernest got his conscious back. She was like sunshine. Bright and Warm. I couldn't stand seeing that sunshine being so miserable

Both of her mother and father burst into cries again. I couldn't hear properly what are they saying. they were screaming, cursing and begging at the same time.

Not only her parents, but all the other villagers assembled in the hall started crying and pleading.

It was total chaos. Then a sharp piercing voice raised among all the shouts and pleads.

It was Aron. I didn't even think he had this much courage to speak up. He always looked so sluggish.

"No!!!No!!! Your majesty, you promised me that you won't hurt my family if I say the truth. Please, you promised me" Aron dropped on his knees and began to plead.

"I am keeping my promise. I am not hurting your family. She will be banned from my kingdom because I can't stand anyone who keeps on lying no matter how many opportunities they get to confess the truth" Edward's voice was cold and emotionless as ever.

"How... banning her is not hurting her... your majesty... I kept my trust in you. Please don't do this... you can ban me... or you can kill me... you can do whatever you want but please spare my sister. She just tried to take care of me... please... "

"I will provide her required things to settle somewhere out of my kingdom. She can live quietly if she like she can practice her treatments as well. Only thing is she can never return to my kingdom"

"Are you a King!!! you are so cruel... you must go to hell" Arya's mother screamed. She was uncontrollable, even though guards tried so much to keep her quiet she kept on yelling.

For my surprise, Edward didn't tell her anything. Instead, he just stared at her.

So she continued ... "What you think ha... because you are the king can you take any evil decision. What my innocent child has done, she just tried to save her brother. Won't you do the same for your brother? And do you think she could save your brother just because she had the antidote? You have misunderstood King Edward, there will be no other doctor who can heal your brother even though they had the antidote. My child is gifted to treat people. That's how she save your brother. At least have some honor for that. What kind of a king are you... " she spat.

Then suddenly Edward stood up. "I have finished giving my judgment" then he just left the courtroom.

"No!!! No!! your majesty please I beg you... you can't do this " Aron was yelling, it was difficult to understand what he says since his voice was cracking with cries.

I looked at Arya. She was still staring at the direction Edward was sitting a moment ago. She didn't even blink.

I stood up, and I knew I have to talk with Edward. Even though I am a thousand percent sure he won't listen to me. Still, I wanted to try, I wanted to try for her.

Edward was in his chamber. Looking outside the window. I was looking at him for more than 2 minutes. He didn't even try to turn around or speak to me.

"Edward I need to speak with you" finally I broke the silence.

"About what," he asked still looking outside the window.

"About the judgment, you gave for the Doctor"

"I have already given my judgment. there is nothing more to talk about that" he said with his usual icy cold tone. He was still looking out of the window.

He seemed to have no emotions, no regrets for his decision. It made me feel really frustrated. I had never argued with Edward on anything. I knew it is totally useless to argue with him because he is a person who never listens to anyone. But today, he certainly has gone to the extream level, by giving such an unfair and inhumane judgment over a trivial mistake.

I felt my blood getting heated, I wanted to hit something or someone until I release all the pain, and rage generates inside me. I was not sure if I feel this mad because it is her on the other end of this merciless judgment. I was utterly confused because I am this much angry at the person I love most over a girl whom I met a few days ago.

I clenched my palm and tried my best to keep my self calm and collected. And I tried my best to sound reasonable and official.

"But don't you think banning her is a lot harsh. She didn't commit to any major crime. She just tried to save her brother. It is true, We should give her some penalty, for misleading the investigations. But this... this is just... This is so inhumane"

okay, I managed to do it well until "This is so inhumane" slip from my tongue.

The second it split from me, I knew I have done a big mistake and I have no opportunity to talk with him further.

He just turns around. his was burning with anger. His eyes were bloody red.

He walked to me.

"Yes, my dear brother it is so inhumane. you know why" he stared into my eyes. I couldn't actually stand his piercing stare.

"It is because I am no Human!!!! I am a monster. Isn't that how everyone addresses me behind my back." He yelled at me and then he started to laugh aloud.

"And you said this is a trivial fault, didn't you? my darling brother remember it is the same trivial offense your mother and my father has done. Which took my mom to an early grave and me to a lifetime hell" the rage, the hurt, the harshness in his voice felt like getting stabbed by thousand draggers at once.

I didn't really know how to respond to him. I just stared how his jaw muscles clenched with tears filled in my eyes.

"Get Lost!!!!! you bastard I don't want your opinions to rule my kingdom. Get Lost" His word echoed the chamber.

I came out of his chamber and lean on the wall next to his chamber. I did not know how long I stayed like that. fighting with my feelings. And feeling ashamed of myself

Prince Ernest's POV

I was utterly shocked. I couldn't even believe the verdict Edward Just gave. He is always logical and reasonable. I was always proud of the decisions he made for our kingdom. He is my hero. But this... this is totally illogical, How Edward could be this cruel, She does not deserve that.

Both Edward and William stormed out of the royal court. I was left there with crying, pleading and cursing Gilbert family, villagers, and the soldiers.

I looked at the Doctor. She seemed to be out of the world. She had no expressions on her face. I doubt that she even knew all the chaos her family and her villagers are creating right now.

I couldn't bear the screams of Doctor's parents and her brother. They will not get to see their loving daughter and sister after tomorrow. It made me think about what will happen to me if I won't be able to see Edward or William ever again. Would I ever be able to smile again?

I recall how she asked about my health, and how she smiled with me just a few minutes ago. She seemed so pleased to see me. Her pretty face lit up with pure happiness when she talks with me. 

I looked back at her, she was still the same with an expressionless face. Soldiers were dragging her out of the courtroom. she didn't show any objections. She was like sleepwalking. 

Her family and everyone were calling out her, but she seemed not heard any of those.

My heart began to beat so fast, I could not just wait and see any more. as I used to be.  This is so inhumane and I can't let this happens.  She saved my life and it is time for me to pay the debt.
