Liam's pov

We are getting out at the garden with Mira, it is late in the morning and we want to see the kids. 

She missed them a lot and they are constantly asking about her all these days. April and Jacob have them playing with Paul waiting for us and I can see the excitement in Mira's eyes.

"You have no idea how much I missed them..." she whispers while we are heading to the back yard.

"I can imagine my love. They missed you too! They were asking me about you all the time!"

"It is the first time we are separated from each other, I was never away from them..." she whispers hurt.

I stop walking, pull her close to me and she wraps her hands around my neck sighing with a sad expression. Her sadness is breaking my heart, I can understand she missed them but now she is going to see them. 

I don't understand...

"Baby why this sad face? You are going to see them in less than two minutes." I say confused.

"Liam, I... I feel guilty for leaving them for so many days. I was always there for them and now..." she pauses and looks around us ready to cry.

"I am a horrible mother! From the moment we came here I am constantly leaving them. I needed time, I was frustrated, I had to spend time with you and then everything that happened with that psycho..." she says and starts crying as I pull her in my arms and kiss her forehead.

"You are the best mother and father in know. They are great kids because of you. They need some time away, they have to spend time with our family and..." I whisper and pause nervously.

She pulls back and stares at me with widely open mouth and eyes.

"Did you just say 'our family'?" she asks and I smile and nod blushing.

"Um... I think they are... I mean, we are together, you are my wom..." I start to say but I don't manage to finish. 

She crashes her lips on mine and kisses me with passion. I kiss her back, tighten my hold around her and she breaks the kiss after a while to peck my lips gently.

"You are the sweetest man there is... Well... From the moment you saw me again...  But it still counts." she whispers giggling and I laugh.

"Don't say again that you are a bad mother! I will get mad and I will tell Ethan and Angel... You don't want them mad too, right?" I say and she nods.

"Mom, you are back!" the well known cheerful voices yell.

And yes, they are here!

We turn and see Ethan running to us with Angel behind him and some meters after them are Jacob, April and Paul.

"There you are! My babies!" Mira exclaims and kneels down opening her arms.

First reaches Ethan who jumps on her and wraps his hands around her neck and begins kissing her like crazy. Next comes Angel who joins their hug and buries her face in Mira's chest and I smile while looking at them while Paul walks to my side and taps my shoulder smiling. Jacob gives me an approving nod and April wipes some tears from her eyes.

"I missed you so much! Did you have a good time with your dad and the others?"

"Mom we missed you. Don't leave again for so long. Thanks for letting dad with us!" Ethan replies and comes to me.

I take him in my arms and kiss the top of head as Mira stands up next to us with Angel in her arms and raises her eyebrows impressed.

"They were good boys mom and dad is awesome like you! Did you know that he can tell great stories?" Angel says excited.

Almost immediately Mira and the others turn and look at me surprised and I blush awkward.

No, this wasn't supposed to happen!

"Really? I had no idea... What story did he tell you?" Mira asks smiling with meaning.

"It was the sleeping beauty but not the usual story..." Angel explains the Jacob rolls his eyes.

"I think he does not know the story and changed it..." Ethan whispers wickedly.

"Oh... Thanks son. This means a lot..." I say desperate yet embarrassed.

"Ethan... Stop teasing your father. And I am sure he knows the story but did it on purpose..." Mira replies smirking.

"I'm... The truth is that I don't know it... Maybe you can tell us the story tonight. But... I had another sleeping beauty in my mind and it was about her..." I say and she immediately blushes.

"You are playing dirty Liam... You are good!" Paul says when April starts screaming giving us a fright.

"You marked each other! Look their necks, they did it Jacob!"

I was expecting it!

Paul turns and looks better at my neck and then Mira's. Jacob walks to me and crosses his arms in front of his chest and I stare at him serious and a bit nervous. 

He looks... mad?!

"Congratulations Holder! You became member of the family. Take care of my little girl and my grandchildren or else, you know..." he says and smiles tapping my arm playfully.

Thanks God, I am not going to die!

I smile and nod, Mira and April are giggling next to using and Paul seems relieved and pleased, I guess they are happy.

"What does this mean?" Ethan asks pointing Mira's mark on my neck.

"It is like mommy and daddy are married now." April explains and he starts yelling excited with Angel.

"I think you have to tell the others as well... They will be all happy!" Paul says and I nod.

"At the dinner tonight we will announce it officially. They will see it until then but it's alright." I say.

"Yes. It will be better this way, I need some time with the kids. I missed them a lot!" Mira adds.

"Alright then. I have some pack things I need to take care of. I will come to find you in a while. Have fun and Ethan and Paul take care of my girls." I say and they nod smiling.

I give a kiss to Mira and the kids, leave Ethan to April that hugs me warmly and get ready to leave when Jacob says that he is coming with me inside. I give one last smile to Mira who shines from happiness and leave with him by my side. 

Once we open our distance I give him a discreet look to find him a bit anxious and I look at him intensively with wary.

"Is everything alright?" I ask him when we are away from the others.

"I would like to ask you something... " he whispers serious.

"Yeah?"

"Not now. Do whatever you have to do and come to find me in my room. Don't tell anyone about it."

"Is it about Mira? I assure you that I love her Jacob and I..."

"No." he interrupts me and continues.

"I know you love her! I can see that and I also see that she and the kids are happy with you. I am glad you have changed. Sometimes you just have to learn how to control your anger because Mira won't back down even if you shout and get mad but I see you. You are going to be a great mate and father! Just be patient with my daughter... So, I will be waiting for you." he says and leaves me alone.

I am a bit confused and worried about what he wants me to talk about. His expression and tone were weird. He looked troubled and I don't like it...

"We will soon learn what is going on. Now go! Lily, Cassie and James are already waiting for us." Phobos whispers and I nod in agreement, he is right. 

They are waiting for me in James' room, I asked them to talk. They need to know about the photos, I need their help with this. 

I walk upstairs and towards James' room next to mine and knock the door once I reach outside and James opens almost immediately. I get in quickly and close the door behind me to see that the girls are here and all of them have a worried look on their faces.

"What is it man?  You scared us. What is so important that has to stay between us?" James asks confused.

"Let's have a sit and I will tell you. I need your help!"

They all nod and we sit on the small living room, James and Cassie are together and Lilly sits next to me opposite of them.

"So?" she asks me immediately.

"Mira told me something that no one knew all these years... Not even you two." I begin pointing her and Cassie.

"Only you knew about me and Mira back at the college and James with his parents. No one else..." I continue.

"Yes, Mira asked no one to know like you had ordered." Cassie says confused.

"But there is something that you don't know... Someone else knew and was sending to Mira photos of me with other women..." I state and they gasp shocked and look at me speechless.

"What? How? We knew nothing. Mira never told us!" Lily says breathless.

"I know. She told me some days ago. It was her secret, she was thinking that it was me but I knew nothing. I would have killed anyone who dared to do that. I am confused and I need your help."

"Liam, are you kidding us? Who would be able to do it?" Cassie asks ready to cry.

"Shh baby. It's okay." James whispers to calm her down.

"Are you kidding me too James? I was always by her side, from the day we were barn and now I learn that she was suffering alone. Who did it?" she screams and breaks into crying.

"Cas, I know you love her very much. That's why I am asking your help, I want to know if anyone came close to you back then. If Cooper heard anything, if anyone else knew by mistake." I ask trying to maintain my self control.

She shakes her head negatively and I turn to Lily who is calmer but she says agrees with Cassie firmly.

"Cooper was trying to be close to Mira only, he did not care about us. She talked to him only that night at the club. She was avoiding him all the time. We didn't have friends, just other people that we were talking a bit and almost all of them were girls. We were extremely careful, I assure you." she explains and I nod.

Next I turn to James who is silent and looks to be deep in thoughts.

"My parents could have never told anything. I can't understand..." he murmurs with a blank expression.

"I know they kept this secret James. They are my parents, they raised me with you, they never treated me differently, they gave me all their love! I have no doubt about them, I trust them with my life!"

"Then who was it damn it?" he yells frustrated and I sigh desperate and angry. 

I am going to lose my mind. I am not close to any trail, I have no idea what happened, who did it...

"We have to think more..." I whisper and leave my head fall back.

"Liam only you can think something. Someone was taking photos of you, someone was close! You should have understood something, felt someone's presence." Lilly tells me thoughtfully.

"I have already thought about it. I can't remember anything unusual! I can't..."

"Do you think it was Cooper?" Cassie asks me worried.

"I don't know. I have no proofs and if you insist you were so careful then nothing leads to him." I say through my teeth, stand up, walk to the door and turn to them.

"I want you to help me. I will try to find out who did this. If Cooper appears I want you to have your eyes on him and in the meantime try to remember anything unusual. I will too! I appreciate your concern and help, I know you will do your best and we will keep everything I told you as a secret. Thank you very much." I say quite nervous and Cassie wipes her tears, stands up, walks to me and pulls me in her arms sighing.

"Cas, I did not tell you all these to get you sad! You are like a sister for me now. You are strong and I know it is a big shock but we can make it. Don't be like this, please!" I whisper and caress her back.

"You really love her Liam. Thank you for doing all these for her! She really needs you and I will do whatever I can."

"Thank you sister, it means a lot! I know you will never leave her alone or betray her. Us..." I reply and she nods quickly.

We break the hug and I sign for them to let them know I am leaving, James stands up and nods and I turn and get out of the room. 

I stop at the middle of the corridor and get ready to leave and go to find Jacob when my phone rings so I take it from my pocket and look at the screen. 

It's my father so I get inside my room immediately and accept his call.

"Hi father!" I say cheerfully.

Believe it or not I am happy. 

Now that I am a father and I spend time with my kids I know how he feels about me even if we had our difficulties. He loves me and he is worried about me. He is happy about me and Mira, he wants so much to meet her and the kids, I feel him relieved and happy...

"Can you please tell me why haven't you called me all these days? Did you forget your old man?" he asks me with complaint and pain in his voice.

"No father but... A lot of things happened and I didn't have time. I almost lost Mira..." I explain awkward.

"What do you mean? Did you fight again? What did you do Liam?" he shouts angry.

"No father. I mean yes, we had a small fight but she went for a run in the forest and when she got back hours later she was almost dead. Someone is trying to kill her..."

"What?" he screams in agony and I feel my heart hurting from his reaction. 

I told him nothing about that crazy bastard and now it is too much for him to take. 

Damn my mind!

"Liam how is she? Who did this?  Why you didn't call me?"

"She is perfectly fine now dad. She recovered quickly. I died when I saw her in that condition that night. She almost died, the doctors did an amazing job. We don't know who that psycho is but I will find him and I will kill him with my own hands, I promise you! I didn't have time to call you, I was all the time with Mira and then with the kids... I am sorry..."I explain quickly with a big doze of guilt.

He sighs and I feel a bit relieved now that I told him because I need him and his support. He makes me feel stronger and more confident!

"Thanks Goddess our girl is alright. How about my grandchildren? How are they?"

"They are great. We are very close and they seem to have accepted me completely. I lied to them about Mira and she saw them a while ago. They are great kids dad, Angel is the sweetest and kindest girl there is and Ethan is so strong and protective. You will love them."

"I already love them son. How about you? Are you alright? How are things going with Mira?" he asks me touched and I smile melancholically.

Okay, I have to tell him! He is going to be very proud and happy!

"Dad... We marked each other this morning and we are better than ever! I am the happier man there is and I wish you were here!" I say breathless doing my best not to cry and wait impatiently for him to talk.

"You are making your old man the proudest father there is! I wish your mother was with us, she would love to be with the kids and Mira. Well done my boy, ,ou did the right thing! I will try to come and see all of you soon, I promise you!" he says and his voice cracks in the end.

I wipe some tears from my eyes unable to hold back and sigh.

"It means a lot dad, I understand you now, I love you very much!"

"I love you too son! Take care of our family and yourself, okay?" he asks me emotional.

"Yeah. Take care, we will talk again soon! I will call you with Mira one of these days!"

"Great."

"Bye dad!" I say in the end and end the call.

I close my eyes and smile, he seemed so happy and excited. 

I am so relieved, I feel whole for the first time in my life! 

I have my woman, kids, sisters, brothers, a big family and now, I finally have my father. Mira's appearance made us come closer and broke our barriers, mostly mine. She is the reason I am changing and I am grateful.

"Man you are forgetting about Jacob..." Phobos reminds me impatient.

"Yes, I almost forgot it. Thanks." I reply quickly.

I get out of my room and head to Jacob's in hurry. 

I really want to know what he wanted to talk about and to tell the truth I have a weird feeling... 

I reach outside his room and I am ready to knock when he suddenly opens the door and signs for me to get in. He immediately closes the door once I am in and locks it.

"Do you want to kill me?" I tease him quickly but he is not smiling or laughing.

I raise my eyebrows confused and sit while he sighs frustrated and sits next to me. 

He looks to be in tension and I start getting panicked.

"Jacob what is it? I am worried." I murmurs nervously.

He doesn't reply immediately, turns and looks at me with a cold expression, then taps my knee and takes a deep breath.

"Liam I want to ask you something..."

"Yes?" I ask impatient.

"Do you know that I... I was friend with your father?" he asks troubled.

Huh?

I blink my eyes confused and stare at him frozen.

What did he just ask me?

"Excuse me? You were what?!" I whisper unable to believe it.

"I knew it..." he murmurs thoughtfully.

"You knew what?"

"That you had no idea... Your behavior seemed you were unaware of it..."

"From where do you know him?" he ask with curiosity.

"He was my trainer when I was at the private college and we became friends immediately. He was older than me but we had lots of interests in common. He, my brother and I were best friends for about two years." he explains and gives me a weak painful smile.

"Then why didn't I know you? Why he never told me? I was born, I was old enough, I..." I pause confused and my mind stops thinking.

"When my true mate was kidnapped he tried to help me find her. But... It was too late. She died, I felt the pain and everything stopped for me... I left with my pack to Australia and I never answered his calls or messages. He knew my mate, he was sorry and he was reminding me of her. I couldn't bear it so I decided to stop our friendship. I think he never told you because he was in pain too."

"I am sorry, this is too much. Does Mira know?" I ask still dizzy.

"No, I never told her! I knew who you were from the first day I met her and she told me your name but then she passed out, she was overwhelmed, tired and Axel told me that she was pregnant. She didn't know about her pregnancy and when she woke up we had so many things to do that I and my brother decided not to tell her."

"I don't know what to say Jacob! My father told me nothing." I whisper lost.

"He didn't know about Mira. Did you tell him her current name?" he asks me and I raise my eyebrows surprised. 

He is right! 

He knew that her name was Mira Anderson and not Mira Adams. 

But... I told him about her pack and...

"I have to talk to him, I need to ask him." I say and turn to look at Jacob.

He nods smiling and taps my arm with a painful expression and I don't know what to say. 

I mean, I knew nothing and I was old enough back then. We were never really discussing with my father but it is such a great coincidence. They were so close friends and now they don't even talk to each other.

"Liam, I am happy for you! I won't deny that I wanted to kill you at the beginning. When I saw Mira for the first time and she explained to me everything I was so angry... She was in so much pain and managed to give birth and raise two kids alone, she became a strong and wise Alpha, she became a confident woman. We were always by her side but it is not the same, she needed you more and I was so against you when we first came here but now I can't imagine her with anyone else! Thank you for making her happy, I consider you like a son!" he says and stands up.

He signs for me to stand up as well and when I do he pulls me in his arms and hugs me.

"Thank you Jacob, I will do my best! I promise you." I whisper smiling and he smirks.

"I know... You better or else I will kick your ass! Now go and spend some time with your family. They will be looking for you." He says and I nod.

I greet him and get out of his room quickly walking downstairs like a flash. 

I am confused and troubled because of what Jacob told me but I am sure my father has a good explanation. 

And I think I know the reason...He might was in too much pain. He lost my mother and when Jacob lost his mate and caught every way of communication with him he would be worse.

"I am sure he will tell us his reasons!" Phobos assures me calmly.

"Baby?" Mira interrupts us through our link.

I smile excited like a small boy and get outside the palace.

"Yes love?" I say cheerfully.

"Are you okay? What is taking you so long?"

"Missed me Alpha?" I tease her smirking.

"Like you missed me..." she replies with nozzle.

"I am almost there baby. In two minutes we will be together."

"Good! Hurry because your sleeping beauty wants you here." she whispers wickedly.

I can do nothing else than roll my eyes and chuckle, she is crazy!

"Can you please tell me and our kids the real story? I am curious to know what I said wrong." I tease her and she laughs.

"I will but I want to know your sleeping beauty's story as well." she replies

"I will tell you her story after we put the kids to sleep..." I say wickedly.

"Promise?" she asks and I smile stopping some meters away from them. 

She is sitting on the ground on the soft, thick, green grass with the kids, Paul and April next to her playing and when her eyes meet mine and she blushes smiling.

"Promise!"
