Heading to Aurumfaust

1504 Words
When the dwarf king stood up, the doors to the assembly hall swung open as a squad of dwarven soldiers marched in. The 6 soldiers at the front split into 3 teams and began walking towards 3 individuals. When they arrived in front of the bewildered dwarves, without warning, they pulled out their war hammers and smashed the blunt ends of the weapons onto the dwarves’ legs. “AHH!!” 2 simultaneous cries of pain rang through the hall while the last person the soldiers didn’t dare to attack so they tried running away only to be stopped by Sithaeth who had suddenly appeared in front of the person and smashed his fist into their face. “Why did you do it?” Sithaeth asked the dwarf he had just punched. The dwarf thrown onto the ground by his attack was immediately detained and shackled by the soldiers. King Sithaeth had a disappointed look on his face as he questioned the dwarf that was held in custody. He felt so betrayed and hurt by this person’s actions. Sithaeth needed to know the answer behind this person’s actions so he asked once again. “I’ll ask again...why did you do it...my Queen?” Everyone in the room was shocked earlier when they saw the dwarven soldiers come in and suddenly attack two dwarves before shackling them. However, that shock was triumphed by the alarming act of their king attacking their queen. “She was our daughter...so why did you do it?” Sithaeth seethed. “That...monster...was no daughter of mine…” The queen said. Her beautiful face was bloodied from her broken nose but there wasn’t a shred of remorse in her eyes. “She was the future of our kingdom!” “You were bewitched! Bewitched by that...by that thing!” Sithaeth lost his temper after hearing her call their daughter a ‘thing’ and slapped the woman he called his queen across the face furiously. He didn’t hold back this time as the powerful slap dislodged her jaw and fractured her cheekbone. “She’s our daughter! Not some monster! Guards, take her away!” Their daughter was unique in that she was born with the innate gift to manipulate all 4 basic elements of the world, water, fire, earth, and wind, in addition to two other elements, gravity, and darkness. She had a bright future ahead of her but having a gift wasn’t always a blessing so Sithaeth had everyone keep this fact under wraps, especially because she was able to control the darkness element. As things would have it, it was natural that the dark element was something their ‘light’ alliance was opposed to because their enemies on the western continent mainly used the dark element. Naturally, this was only because the eastern continent had the church which mainly used light elemental magic so they naturally had to counter that with dark elemental magic. Due to this, the alliance treated any being that used dark magic as an enemy and this was reinforced by the church who had the humans backing them. So with this fact, he had his daughter continue developing her gift while keeping her dark magic capabilities a close-guarded secret from the rest of the world.  Everything was going so well until suddenly, the church came knocking on their door. Sithaeth and the dwarves didn’t think they would come, targeting their princess. They just came and spouted some ridiculous demands. The worst thing was that they came and soon retreated without bearing any losses. The dwarves lost their princess and it was actually at the hands of the very person who gave birth to her, the Queen, her mother. Sithaeth had found out about this not too long ago when he noticed his queen acting oddly after their daughter’s death and finding her communicating with the Church of Holy Light. When the truth was revealed to him, Sithaeth was devastated. The woman he loved who gave birth to the treasure he cherished, their daughter, was actually the one who committed the sin. This was her very own flesh and blood...and she, without any hesitation, acted upon the Church of Holy Light’s words and murdered their daughter. However, Sithaeth noticed something else as well. His queen, Lana Oakenfury, seemed as if she was bewitched and out of her mind. He didn’t know when it started happening, but Queen Lana of the dwarves stopped acting like a sane person at some point in time. Even now, she didn’t acknowledge her faults and only began spouting some incomprehensible nonsense after being hit by Sithaeth.  The guards took her away while the other dwarves in the assembly looked on in shock and disbelief. “M-My King, there must be a mistake!” “Yes, Your Majesty! There’s...there’s just no way!” “We have to conduct a thorough investigation first, Your Majesty!” “SILENCE!” Sithaeth let out a mana-infused roar. His shout shook the air and it silenced everyone present.  “I’ve lost both of the two women I love most in my life...Do you think I’d make a mistake with something as severe as this?!” Everyone present was still in disbelief but as the reality sank into their minds, they began to try and rationalize the situation. Their Queen was just as doting as their King. How could such a loving and benevolent mother suddenly take a 180 and murder her own child? Before they could come up with their own theories, Sithaeth slowly spoke up, “It’s the humans and their damned church that did this…” “How is this possible?” “Mind Control magic?” “But isn’t that forbidden?” “Hmph, when was anything truly forbidden?” Sithaeth derisively said. “We’re now a neutral country so tell our sister kingdom, Crystalfaust, to openly start trading with the ‘dark’ races. As for the bastards here...anyone that isn’t an elf or beastman...fire all our cannons at them!” “So basically… just the monsters...and the humans?” “Since it seems that they don’t need us any longer, they’re no longer welcome to Aurumfaust!” “That’s fine too, Your Majesty. All of our brothers and sisters that were previously outside the kingdom have used the emergency returned devices and should already be on their way back to the kingdom or are already here!” “Good.” ***** A few days passed by with Julius still undergoing his evolution. Eisha was worried at first since her husband’s evolution was taking too long but instead of worrying, she wanted to be more productive. Word about the dwarves and their plight reached her ears and she had the same idea as Julius which was to revive the dwarven Princess using Arianrhod’s power. At first, she wanted to wait for Julius to wake up before executing the plan but seeing that this wasn’t going to happen anytime soon, Eisha decided to go ahead with the plan before the situation changed. It was why she was currently on a wagon, bound for the Aurumfaust Kingdom with Aria and Proto who had shapeshifted into her husband. Naturally, they needed Julius to be there, but luckily, his mind was connected with Proto and the consciousness he had planted inside his homunculus was still active. “Honey, we’ll arrive in a day or two… is your main body still not going to finish its evolution?” Eisha asked. “No...the system said that this evolution was outside its calculations so the time needed to complete it can’t be determined…” “Hmmm…” Julius’s forces that were heading towards Aurumfaust consisted of a few caravans that were holding various batches of minerals and ores. He received a few reports from his mimic scouts that were keeping an eye on the dwarves’ situation and knew that they were now openly hostile with the humans.  Julius hoped that the dwarves didn’t attack them from the get-go after seeing his human-transformed mimics. He didn’t want this to happen so he made sure that all of his fiends were wearing large cloaks that obscured their faces and body. “I can’t keep my consciousness awake for too long so I’ll be going back to hibernation mode. Wake me up if something happens or when we get there.” “Okay, honey~” Julius closed his eyes and soon fell unconscious. He was greatly anticipating his meeting with the dwarves. It would mark a new beginning if he was able to get their support.
