Chapter Nine - Not ruining my night (House party, part 2 of 3

Jasmine    They’re a group of about twelve of us sitting on the living room floor, playing a classic game, spin the bottle. I was the one that suggested it. Everyone was enjoying it, though, and no one had refused to kiss anyone yet.    “Your turn Jasmine,” Becky smirked.    I nodded, spinning the bottle. I don’t mind who it lands on, male or female, just as long as it isn’t Cody. I spin the bottle, and like some sort of cruel joke, it landed right on Cody. I watch as a smug look takes over his face. No! Why? I haven’t kissed him since I was like twelve. He was my first kiss; I was his first kiss.    “You have to be joking!” I groaned.    “Rules are rules, gorgeous,” He smirked.    I may as well get this over with. I rolled my eyes and made him come to me. I wasn’t moving, not for him. I would rather slap him than kiss him, but I need to stick to the game.    “Let’s get this over with,” I said.    It was Cody’s turn to roll his eyes. He inched closer to me. I pulled a face, not liking him being this close to me. Cody quickly closed the gap between our lips. He let out a soft groan the moment his lip touched mine. I was hesitant to kiss back at first, but it didn’t feel as bad as I thought. I found myself kissing him. His kissing skills have sure improved, but then again, we were twelve, and neither of us had ever kissed anyone.      Cody put a little more pressure on my lips, and much to my dismay, a small whimper escaped from my lips. No, I am not supposed to be enjoying. Stupid body. Stupid teenage hormones. I took that as my cue to pull away. Cody didn’t look very happy, but I don’t care.    “You enjoyed that as much as I did,” He said confidently.    “You are delusional, now get away from me,” I said firmly.    He let out a loud laughed but went back to his seat. Becky turned to me her brow raised.    “What?” I asked, confused.    “Um, you looked like you were enjoying it,” She said.    “Eww, no,” I said quickly.    I did, a little, but no one needs to know that. I turned away from her, and we got back to the game. I was ready to do something else now. I could feel Cody watching me.    “Has everyone had a turn?” I asked, and everyone nodded, “Well, I am going to get a drink, and then hit the pool, anyone coming?” I added.    Mostly everyone was up for that. I got up first and Becky following my lead, and we went in search for a drink. We went for a bottle of beer because everything else was already open.    Keith and Cody came to join us.    “I hear swimming is next?” Keith laughed.    “Hell yeah, and then we can round everyone up for truth or dare,” I said.    Who doesn’t love a game of truth or dare? It was always fun, and it was an excellent way to find out more about someone.    “A little birdie told me that you two had to kiss,” Keith said, “And you both enjoyed it,” He added.    “I did not enjoy it!” I said firmly.    “Hmm, tell that to the whimper that fell from your lips,” Cody smirked.    He was not going to let me live this one down, was he?    “Get over yourself, Cody. I did not enjoy it, and I sure as hell don’t want you, even though you think every female with a pulse wants you,” I said, shaking my head.    He went to say something, but I didn’t give him a chance. I turned and walked away, heading outside. There were already some people in the pool, which others went on the sun loungers making out.    I finished off my beer. Becky, Cody and Keith were soon appearing. I stripped down to my underwear. A few of the guys already in the pool were watching and whistling at me. I giggled and rolled my eyes before diving into the pool. Becky joined me, and then Katie came out of nowhere, joining us. Where did she come from? We haven’t seen her all night. She has been pre-occupied.    “Nice for you to finally join us,” I teased.    “I was busy,” She smirked, “What did I miss?” She added.    “Jasmine had to kiss Cody,” Becky laughed, “And even if she will deny it, she enjoyed it,” She added, smirking.    “I did not!” I whined.   “Hmm, sure you didn’t,” Katie said.    I groaned, throwing water at them both and swimming away. Why is everyone so insisted that I enjoyed that kiss? I thought I have made it clear a million times that I hate him. They can all think what they want, but Cody and I are a no-go. I don’t even want to be his friend anymore, never mind anything else. I plan on forgetting about him for the rest of the night and enjoying myself.                                               *** There was still a few of is left in the pool. The others headed inside because they were cold. I couldn’t care if it is cold. I love the water, and it was a heated pool. I was resting against the side while the others were messing around. The girls were on the guys’ shoulders, have splash wars with each other. I laughed, watching them.    Suddenly, I was hit with a wave of water, and someone was right in front of me. I looked disappointed when I saw it was Cody.    “Can I help you?” I asked.    He rested his hand at each side of me, trapping me between him and the wall of the pool.   “Yes, I think it is about time you get over hating me,” He said.    “I will get over it when you stop acting like a complete douche,” I said.    “You seem to put all of this one me, but it isn’t, you aren’t exactly an angel in this full thing,” He said.   “Are you serious right now? You are the one that changed, not me,” I said, “I tried to stick by you, be there for you, but you made it impossible for me to do, Cody,” I added, shaking my head.    It isn’t like I just gave up on him. I tried my darn hardest to be there for him, but when he started treating me the same way he treated everyone else, then I had enough. I wasn’t just some person that meant nothing to him. I was his best friends, the one that has been there for him always.    “If that is what you tell yourself to make you feel better,” He said, shaking his head.    “What the hell does that mean? I tried, but in the end, you just started treating me like everyone else,” I said annoyed.    “It doesn’t matter! Forget it!” He snapped and swam away.    What the heck was that? Is he trying to blame me for us not being friends anymore? Screw him. I jumped out of the pool, grabbing my clothes and headed inside. I found a towel, getting myself dried and putting clean underwear on. I always brought extra in my bag because I knew I would be swimming. I got myself ready and went in search of another drink.    Cody had pissed me off, and now I plan on getting wasted. I went and joined a group of people who were playing never have I ever. Yes, this would do; this is what I needed. That jackass isn’t ruining my night.
