Dianna's Point Of View
Later that day
After I woke up from my nap, it was 11 am. I had my dress picked out earlier so I just needed to shower and get ready. After my shower, I did my hair and pulled it back in a low ponytail, and braided it. My makeup was simple. I added mascara, my eyebrows, and then some lip gloss. I wasn’t going for anything too much. I seriously wasn’t in the mood.
When I finished getting ready, I walked out into the living room to grab my bags. Aries was standing by the door dressed in his suit and waiting. I made a smoothie to go and then we were out the front door, Aries making sure it was locked before we leave.
While we drove, it was just him and me in the car while the other bodyguards followed behind us. I glanced out the window, occasionally watching Aries as he drove. A question has been weighing on my mind and I so badly wanted to ask him. We got to a red light and I cleared my throat and spoke up.
“Aries,” I said. He looked over at me with a calm gaze.
“Yes, Ms. Hendrix?” He replied.
“I wanted to um, thank you for staying last night. I really appreciated it,” I said to him. He nodded briefly.
“No problem ma’am,” He said.
“So um, did you know that Chad was cheating on me?” I asked him. He nodded his head but kept his eyes on the stoplight.
“Yes I knew he was cheating,” He admitted. My heart sank at his response and the car started moving again.
“Why didn’t you tell me, Aries? You knew he was cheating on me and you let me get dragged around like a fool?” I asked.
“It wasn’t my place to say anything about your relationship, considering I always tell you he is a bastard and you deserve better. You always defend him,” He stated.
“He was my boyfriend, what did you expect?!” I snapped. He kept silent for a little while and then he spoke.
“If I had told you he was cheating on you, would you have believed me then?” He questioned.
“Of course, I would have believed you,” I retorted.
“Don’t give me that bullshit. And what do you mean by I let you get dragged around like a fool? Am I supposed to be playing the father role as well? You are a grown woman and I didn’t take this job to babysit. I would have gone to a daycare center if that’s what I wanted,” He said, harshly.
“How long have you known?” I asked, rubbing my hands together.
“For a year and change,” He said. I laughed humorlessly as tears pooled in my eyes. Over a year.
“So you just sat back and watched me get played. You could have said something. Anything at all but you didn’t,” I said, wiping my tears.
“My job is to protect you, not your heart. I am not obligated to do anything aside from keeping you safe,” He muttered. I kept quiet for the rest of the ride.
My mom and my brother don’t know what they are talking about. How could Aries have feelings for me but sit there and watch me get hurt? For some reason, Aries knowing the truth actually hurts because I trusted him. I was vulnerable with him last night and I found comfort in him. I cried and fell asleep in his arms with him telling me it was all going to be alright.
When we got to the building, there were paparazzi gathering at the entrance. Aries turned into the underground parking lot and I sighed in relief. Most mornings we would enter through the front entrance but today wasn’t one of those days. He got out of the driver's seat and turned the car off. I waited for him to do his quick routine spot-check before he opened the door for me to come out.
“Thank you,” I said.
He didn’t respond and then I realized that he was upset with me. I am confused as to why he is mad when he kept something so big from me. We headed inside the elevator and took it up to my floor of the building. I greeted my assistant and then headed straight into my office. I turned my phone on and silenced it. This afternoon I was having lunch with my friends and I knew they were going to bombard me with questions until my head aches.

A Few Hours Later…
3 pm
Throughout the morning, I have been thinking about the argument between me and Aries. I think that I got angry at him for the wrong reasons and maybe he was right. I always thought that he just hated Chad. If he had come to me and told me he was cheating on me, I wouldn’t have believed him without proof. It also wasn’t Aries’ job to interfere in my love life.
“Aries,” I called from the backseat.
“Yes, Ms. Hendrix?” He answered.
“I am sorry about earlier this afternoon. I didn’t mean to yell at you. Chad’s infidelity wasn’t your fault and you didn’t take this job to babysit me or tell me who to date,” I said to him.
“Okay,” He said. He didn’t sound interested at all.
“That’s all you have to say?” I asked
“What more are you expecting, Ms. Hendrix?” He asked me. I released a frustrated breath.
“Nothing else,” I muttered, my shoulder sagging as I leaned back into my seat.
At the restaurant…
“Hey babe. I am so sorry that I am late,” Carly apologized as she kissed my cheek and sat down.
“It’s okay. Claire just got here herself,” I said to her.
“Hmm. Where are Ava and Mel?” Carly asked
“They are both working. I can’t blame them though,” I said.
We placed our orders and started talking. They didn’t bring up the break up which I am really thankful for. Claire took this as an opportunity to talk about this guy she met last night while she was out. She complained about how bad of a kisser he was, how much he sucked in the bedroom, and how his p***s was small. I tried to ignore her but it was so hard. Our food arrived and we started eating.
“You know what would make me happy?” Claire asked
“What would make you happy?” I asked, smiling as she grinned.
“A tall man, He doesn’t have to be rich at all but he has to be handsome and a stallion in bed. I want to be wrapped up in his big arms and enjoy him for the rest of the night, possibly an entire weekend,” She gushed. Just when she had me, she lost me again.
“Actually, finding a good man should be your priority now, Claire. Sleeping around with multiple men is not a flex. Imagine if you are in public and 3 guys you have been with see you? They started talking about how they have been with you and then realized that they all slept with you. Do you think that is something to boast about?” Carly asked her.
“Well, they will add how great I am in bed,” Claire added, shamelessly.
“You are unbelievable,” I said, shaking my head.
“See, even that I hear after a one-night stand,” She said, laughing as Carly frowned at her.
“Well do as you please,” Carly sighed, already over it.
“Dianna, I want Aries,” Claire stated.
“Okay. I am not sure what I am supposed to do with that information,” I said as I started to feel irritated.
“So, will you be the world’s bestest friend and put in a good word with Aries for me?” Claire asked me while twisting her pasta around her fork.
“He is not interested in dating. He told me that,” I said to her. She grinned and licked her lips.
“I am sure he will change his mind after spending one night with me,” She boasted.
“Claire, is there one good looking guy you don’t want in your pants?” Carly asked
“Shut up Carls. So Dianna?” Claire asked, turning her attention back to me.
“He doesn't want a relationship. Stop asking or go ask him yourself,” I said to her.
“Okay, why are you in such a bitchy mood? I just asked a question,” She asked, frowning deeply.
“About a man who isn't interested in you at all. Aries thinks that you are easy and your world revolves around men. So quit being so easy, Claire. Men don’t like easy women unless it’s for a quick lay,” I said to her. Her expression fell and she scoffed.
“Thank you for letting me know how little you thought of me,” She said, throwing some cash down and then left.
Carly laughed and wiped her mouth. I looked over at her and she gave me two thumbs up then went back to her food. I didn’t mean to come off so harsh but it was the truth, despite my frustration towards Aries. He stood by the door and I gazed up at him seeing him already looking at me. He clenched his jaw and looked away from me. I don’t understand his anger towards me as I already apologized.
“Don’t feel bad Dianne, she deserves to know the truth and I already know he doesn’t like her. Ava knows as well as the rest of us,” Carly said to me
“I don’t feel bad. She just only ever talks about men and Aries pointed it out to me,” I said to her.
“Maybe he likes you. I mean he doesn’t like Chad, he is always looking at you and whenever someone else is giving you the ‘come f**k me eyes’ he looks as if he wants to punch them in the face, he is always staring at your ass too especially in that dress you have on now,” She said, shrugging her shoulders. My cheeks heated up and my gaze shifted over to Aries for a split second, his eyes already fixed on me.
“Stop saying that. He is not interested in me. That is a bold accusation,” I said to her. She hummed and shrugged her shoulders.
“Whatever makes you sleep at night. I have to be at work in less than an hour because I have this wedding to finish up and the bride is an annoying b***h” She muttered.
“Or she is just nervous” I added and sipped my pink lemonade.
“Nervous my ass. I hate bitches who order people around and don’t appreciate my service, I will cancel the morning of the wedding. She needs to learn some respect," She said.
“I have no doubt you will be teaching her that soon,” I said, laughing.
If it wasn’t obvious, Carly was the meanest in our friend group. A wedding planner. Claire was the eye candy, a veterinarian. Ava is the loner who hates everyone around her except us of course. She is an FBI agent. Mellyssa is the violent one who believes in punching first and asking questions later. A badass lawyer. Then there is me, the happy friend who lives in the moment and sees nothing beyond the positive. The CEO.
“How have you been since the breakup?” She finally asked.
“He blames me for pushing him into another woman’s arms. He said that he is glad the media exposed their relationship because Jessica doesn’t deserve to be kept a secret. He also said that they are moving in together and will be having kids of their own. He also said that I had no intention of moving forward with him. Basically, this entire thing is my fault,” I voiced out. I blinked the tears away and sniffled. She reached her hand across the table to grab mine.
“Sweetheart, you know this isn’t your fault. He is an asshole and he doesn’t deserve you. He deserves to be hit by a truck along with that w***e Jessica who pretended to be your friend,” She said to me.
“It would be unprofessional if I fired her from my company, right?” I asked.
“Maybe, but try your best to ignore her or don’t have any kind of interaction with her. You don’t have to manage her anymore,” She said
“Okay. You should go get ready for your bridezilla. I don’t want to keep you,” I said, smiling at her. She rolled her eyes.
“She is going to f*****g stress me out and I will be tempted to cancel on her wedding day. I don’t do well with bitches,” She pointed out.
We said our goodbyes and left the restaurant. I went back to the office and did a little more work then headed home by 5:30 pm. I made myself dinner and had a glass of white wine. I went through my event planner and realized that I have an event coming up in two weeks. I no longer have a date since Chad chose to cheat on me with a model I created. Someone I took from a messy life and turned into something great.
I don’t regret helping Jessica at all. I saw potential in her when no one else did. She tried out for so many modeling agencies and got turned down. She was my wild card and I made her famous. We became friends so it was hard to see her betraying her like this. It seriously was.
