During dinner, Joaquin and Francemia put the two couples out of their minds as they discuss their future and children. He was disappointed when she said she didn’t want to start a family until she had killed the ones responsible for her parent’s death. Joaquin had hoped, since they didn’t use any protection, that meant his Sunshine was ready or was already pregnant. That went out the window when she informed him that she was taking precautions. Joaquin is now more determined than before to hurry up and find the assholes that killed his in-laws. He and Romulus want pups soon.
She heard his thoughts and felt his disappointment and pain. But she didn’t say anything because she didn’t want her mate to think she was always in his head. Also, Francemia is hoping to change the subject. She drinks a few sips of the champagne and glances at the two couples. The women were giving her the evil stare just like the two men were giving Joaquin.
Joaquin sniffs and winks at her because she has uncovered her scent. He looks over at Diego and Tate staring at Francemia. He smirks and thinks, “yea, you fuckers thought my mate would be a quick kill. Let’s see if you bastards are still plotting to attack us. I can’t believe they still haven’t learned that I can hear their damn thoughts.”
Tate answers his phone and smirks, looking at Joaquin, then nudges Diego's arm.
“Papa, I don’t believe we’ll be fighting tonight.” She winks at him. “I’m sorry, but I can’t let them believe that you have a weak mate and that I'm a weak woman and a quick kill. After all, I'm the mate of the merciless Lycan King. Besides, it’s not as if we won’t kill them soon.”
Joaquin chuckles and licks his lips, "You’re definitely my mate.” He starts listening to Tate saying he and Diego will arrive in Kinghaven later tonight. “So they’re joining Rocky and the others. Looks like we’ll be going out dancing after all.” He raised his flute to her.
“Yes, and tomorrow night will be a night for killing.” She held her flute up to him.
“To us. Great minds think alike.” He clinks his flute with hers.
Judith and Meredith are fussing because Diego told them to get doggy bags. They can’t stay to finish their meal. Finally, Tate hit the table with his fist. “Shut the hell up. You two can stay here, but we're leaving." He stood up.
“We’re leaving with you two,” Meredith yells, looking at Joaquin and Francemia. She didn’t want to stay there and have a run-in with him. She knew that would be the end of her.
Judith quickly waved the waitresses over to bring her some carry-out plates.
Meredith sniffs for the first time since she smelt Francemia was human earlier. "Vampire the b***h is a vampire."
"What?" Judith mumbles, looking at Francemia and sniffing. "Yep, a vampire."
When the four of them are in the parking lot, Tate informs them he and Diego are taking them home. They're going to Kinghaven to join Rocky and L.Q. to go up against the bastard d that's in the restaurant.
"I hope his ass enjoyed his meal and that damn vamp he has marked." Diego, looking at Joaquin and Francemia, walked out the door.
"Sunshine, I think I should introduce you to them. It may be their only chance to meet the Queen." Joaquin's hand is entwined with Cemia's hand, he walks over to them. He looks them up and down. "Since you were all trying to figure out if this stunning young lady is my true mate or someone that I chose to mark. Let me inform all four of you worthless asses. Francemia is the only one the Moon Goddess designed for me. That's Queen Francemia to you all assholes. I don't have to tell you what she is. The stupid ass looks on your face told us that you know. Now, if you would excuse us. "Oh, one more thing, I'm sure we'll see you all soon." He and Francemia disappeared.
"Queen Francemia will be just as dead as his ass soon," Tate yells, hitting the roof of someone's car. Leaving a huge dent in it.

A couple of hours later Byron, Hagen, and Riggins are watching Starr, Jenna, Delilah, and Phylicia eating raw chicken, figs, blackberries, strawberries, raw beets, spinach, and several seeds.
“Maybe they’re health freaks,” Hagen mumbles.
Riggins shook his head. “Raw meat isn’t healthy.”
Byron can’t get over the seeds. “What kind of seeds are those?” He points at the bowls.
“Safflower, Sunflower, Nyjer. Have some. They're good.” Jenna holds up a bowl to him.
Byron shook his head, “No, thank you. I’ll stick with the cooked food.”
Phylicia chuckled, "So have you thought of a strategy for the battle?"
"What do you want us to do?" Delilah rubbed her hands, looking at Byron.
Hagen scratches the back of his neck. “You four fight?”
“Of course, we fight. Why wouldn't we? ” Starr looked at him confused.
Phylicia watches the three men's expressions and behaviors. "Oh, I get it. Because we’re human, you all don’t believe we can’t fight werewolves or any other beings. Well, there’s more to us than meets the eye. Also, our leader is a witch and, more so, we have to be able to fight beside her.”
Neither man understands the leader thing. Since Byron believes Francemia is a witch, he asks if they're members of her coven.
"Coven? She doesn't have a coven. Cemia is our leader and friend. She found us when we were in some dark places in our lives. Phylicia has been with her longest. Then Delilah, Starr, I've been with her for a year now. We love and protect each other. I guess you could say we're family." Jenna looks at the three women smiling.
"Family is the best word to describe us." Delilah rubs Jenna's arm. "Who knows where we would be if she hadn't come into our life"
"We still don't understand everything about you ladies. But welcome to our family." Riggins lifts his glass of iced tea. He looked at Starr. "I said family and nothing else."
She winks at him "That's still in the air."
"Vampire. There's a vampire near." Byron put his glass on the table. He, Riggins, and Hagen jump up sniffing. While the four women are eating and looking at them laughing.
"The scent is getting stronger." Hagen looked down the hall toward the kitchen.
Riggins and Byron are going from window to window looking around the yard and the trees.
"Let us know when you find it." Phylicia snickered.
"You four won't be laughing when we're attacked by vampires." Riggins points at them, but he's still looking out a window, "Damn, I don't see anyone."
Joaquin and Francemia enter the dining room looking at the three men. "What the hell are you three doing?" He asks, walking over to the window, and looking out.
Francemia walks over to the table and picks up a beet. She’s eating, looking at the four men looking out the window.
Hagen, Byron, and Riggins are still sniffing and turning around looking at the door to the hallway. Joaquin looks at the three men. "What the hell are you smelling?"
"Man, don't you smell it? It's a vampire close." Byron looks at him. "Your sense of smell is a hell of a lot better than ours, and we smell it."
Joaquin nodded, "sure I smell it. Bring the vampire to me." He winks at Cemia.
She chuckles and points at him, shaking her head.
The three men start walking out the door, then stop looking in the room, then at Francemia, and point to her.
