Chapter 10: First Mate

I lived in Pixieland all my life and was happy, I was still living with my parents taking care of them and I was out back feeding the horses. I felt arms go around me and it was Malcolm, he worked for my father and I turned to kiss him, he was my first lover but we kept it secret because it was forbidden for me to have relations until my father found me a match. We haven't had mates in like forever because it was rare, my sister was killed years ago when she became Queen of the Vampires and we felt it, my father didn't go to the funeral because he was angry and hurt but my mother and I went. My father loved Sherice so much and it pained him, we are allowed to go there on occasion to visit the tomb, and the last time I was there, I felt so drawn to that castle but Vampora was creepy. I felt drawn there at my sister's funeral, I almost wandered off to where I was being pulled but my mother grabbed my hand and we were allowed to visit the tomb after the King left, I never saw the King, only my mother met with him after the funeral but I wanted to comfort him somehow.

The money my family made from Sherice being mated to the King helped with the farm and employed a lot of people, my mother opened up a clothing store for the townspeople. I kept turning down marriage proposals over the years because of fear of leaving my family alone since Sherice's death. Now, my father is telling me that I was being summoned to Vampora to meet my future husband at the request of the Royal Prince Piot. He chose me to be his bride and help raise his pre-teen daughter and I was flattered but it meant that I couldn't turn it down and I would have to break it off with Malcolm. I told Malcolm what my father said and he was heartbroken because he was pushing me to tell him about us so we could be together but I knew it would never happen. I wanted to spend time with him because I would be leaving tomorrow to head to Vampora, so we ran off to the lake behind the farm. No one would miss us yet and we headed there for privacy.

We took our clothes off and head into the water, he swam up to me and we started kissing, I wrapped my legs around him as he suck on my n****e and I moaned throwing my head back in ecstasy. I reached the Palace two days later, it was quite a travel and my parents accompanied me, the royal carriage pulled up next to the big front door and all the guards were stoic and looked pale. The castle was gloomy, it was dark gray and it was very tall especially the towers, I remembered it from our last visit but we never entered from this side of the Palace. Prince Piot was waiting to greet us and he smiled and offered me his hand as he kissed it bowing to me and saying, "My lady," and I smiled curtseying to him. He stopped me and said, "You will be my wife, you only curtsy to the King or his mother," and I smiled saying, "Thank you." My parents were excited and Prince Piot had them taken to their quarters, I was nervous as he showed me around, he was attractive, he was around 6'3 and slender in build but he was toned. I could see his muscular arms, his hair was let down, black and it reached his shoulders, he had dimples when he smiled and white teeth, I could see what would be his fangs but they were not elongated, it only happened when they drank.

He had hazel eyes which had silver irises and they looked beautiful when he smiled, I could only imagine what they would look like when he was hungry. He looked at me and said, "King Elijah was away on business but he will be back for our ceremony in the morning." We reached a beautiful garden and it was private, he held my hand turning me to face him as he looked into my eyes and asked, "Are you willing to change into a vampire during our mating, Lady Maria?" I didn't expect the question and I looked at him as he smiled at me, I blushed and asked, "Will it hurt?" Placed my hand on my neck rubbing it and thinking about him biting into me and getting aroused and his eyes flickered, I knew he did that on purpose. He held my hand as we kept walking and he said, "Yes, and no," and I asked, "What do you mean?" He stopped, turned to me, and lifted my chin planting a kiss on my lips moving down to my marking spot, and whispered, "It will hurt for a few seconds, you will have an orgasm during the bite but you will pass out for the change, you won't feel it," and I moaned feeling his soft kiss at my marking spot.

I woke the next day and I felt well rested, I had a nice time getting to know my future mate, he gave off good vibes and I had accepted my fate. I remembered asking him about purity, hoping I wouldn't have to lie to him and he smiled saying, "You are not a virgin, I have my ways of knowing but I wouldn't have you beheaded because of it as I don't care about it," and I felt relieved but shocked he could tell that. I decided to get ready for the wedding when the servants came to get me dressed for it, Vampires were a fascinating species, and Piot was the perfect gentleman from what I could tell, I would get to meet his daughter after the wedding as she was staying with his mother for now. He had unique powers and he tested me yesterday about my purity, I got aroused, and apparently, a virgin smells different than someone who was touched, that's why he did what he did and I smiled. He admitted he did that to know how easy to go on me during our mating later and since I knew what to expect, he could have his way with me and I smiled at that.

I did tell him to change me because of what happened to my sister, I want to be able to defend myself and I still haven't met the King or his Queen Mother. I met Prince Kolie at dinner with my parents and he seemed nice and welcomed me as Prince Piot's future mate. My mother came into the room looking at me and she had tears in her eyes telling me to be careful, I was all she had left besides my brother who stood back to take care of the farm in our absence. I told her, "I will be changed into a Vampire," and she said, "Just take care of yourself," and she went to be with the other guests, my father was going to escort me and he cleaned up nice, he held my hand linking me, "I love you and visit sometimes," I smile hugging him and then we were led to the throne room. I was nervous because I would meet the King, he was in the room talking to the Elder when he spun around like he wanted to kill someone, his eyes were red as he watched me, my senses went off, something was wrong and I stopped, my father asked, "What's wrong?"

Prince Piot

I was excited to meet my chosen mate, my daughter Lauren is twelve now and King Aidan Luna's coronation was coming up, I was going to attend but now my wedding is happening. I won't be able to make it but Elijah sends his best regards with a messenger promising to visit at a later date. Roman was his beta and I didn't like the guy, he always seemed off when I visited but I was glad not to be around him for a while. Maria was beautiful and her blood was calling to me because of who she was, I had her things placed in my quarters and she will blend in nicely once the change has happened. The elders want to do the purity test with her and I shut it down, this only happens with royalty and honestly, I couldn't wait for Elijah to change that stupid rule. I lied about the beheading just to see her cute face trying to wrap her head around it, I knew she wasn't a virgin and I would have to pretend she was by allowing certain oils and pain meds in the room for optics.

Elijah was excited for me, he spent the night with our daughter's mother and I teased him about getting her pregnant again and he hissed at me saying, "I am careful this time, Piot." We waited for my beautiful bride, my mother was in the room with my daughter and Elijah looked at Lauren with so much pride, he linked me, "You are doing a good job with her, I owe you so much, Piot, thank you," and I replied, "I got you, Elijah, always." Malvoc turned to the crowd as Marie entered the room, she took my breath away but something was wrong with Elijah and I linked him, "What is it, Elijah?" He said, "Sorry, Piot, she is my beloved," and I froze, I looked at Marie and saw the realization on her face and I smiled saying, "You owe me a mate, Elijah." He said, "Go ahead, I don't want a mate," and I said, "No, the bond will make her come to you, it won't be fair to me, she would be seen as unfaithful if she is caught going to you, Elijah, talk it out," and I patted his back leaving as the crowd gasped.
