Mischievous Pup

Chapter 10 - Present  Sitting annoyed while he waited for Jordan, Nicholas couldn't understand why the man couldn't talk to his friend afterward as the only thing that he wanted to do now was to eat, so later he could play with the Human. Of course, he could enjoy the wonderful food first, but something that the pup had learned in the last month living with the teacher, was the man's problem to eat during the night time. Even if his stomach screamed in hunger, the kind man didn't seem to hear that, and it was almost as terrible as the fact that his father no longer smiled. So with the best patience, a child could have... He waited for Jordan. ... However, that didn't mean it would last much longer... "I want to eat ..." Whining, the little boy thought as he looked at the man who had no idea what was on his mind as he continued to talk to the woman that Nico no longer liked even without knowing. He patiently laid on the floor, thinking a lot about the vast green areas that his house had for him to run around freely as he wanted. He remembered the smell of the grapes and the walks he used to take with his mother through the grape farm, making him want to cry, even if he loved being with Jordan. "... I think his name was William." Suddenly, catching his attention, he heard the woman mention his father's name. Curious whether the man mentioned was his father or not, it was the first time he had been interested in Jordan's and Ria's conversation as he jumped on the couch. "What are you talking about?" However, when he could no longer understand the adults' conversation, Fluffy decided to go back to the floor, only to have the smell of food remind him that he hadn't eaten his dinner yet... "Let's eat, Kind man." Whining to Jordan, he finally got the man's full attention, but the answer was far from what he would like to hear. "More five minutes, ok, buddy?" Tired of waiting, Nicholas decided that he would do something else as he went to the apartment's only bedroom. ... Hiding behind the boxes scattered on the floor, Fluffy played, chasing his own shadow. The room wasn't too big, but everything there was enough to make the pup's imagination work while he was alone in the apartment, allowing him to travel to long-distance lands in his mind... Jumping on one of the boxes that he knew would support his weight, he snarled at no one as he fought against his invisible enemies, remembering how his father and the other wolves acted in training sections... Back on the floor, something suddenly caught his eye. Bowing, he got ready to catch his prey before jumping across the room, holding the piece of fabric in his mouth before dropping it on the floor. "The Kind man's mommy shirt..." Seeing what he had caught, Nicholas once more called Jordan by the nickname that he had given the man in his head. Since in the vast majority of times, Nico didn't pay attention to the professor's conversations on the phone, he didn't know yet what was the name of the man who rescued him thus he ended up, always calling Jordan, the Kind man, and the reasons for that were quite simple. Jordan didn't look like any men and women from his Pack, and as most of the time, the man was always cooking, reading, or lying down, it made the pup remember someone else who always did the same... His mother. She was always called kind by the others, especially in the last few months, after she had returned to the side of the Moon Goddess and became a star in the sky. "He won't like it if I get it dirty." Sitting in front of the shirt, Nicholas continued to think without noticing that his little paws were still on the fabric before he had a mischievous idea. "If he doesn't want to have dinner, maybe I should make him play with me." And with a smirk on his face, he decided while his blue eyes shone as he thought about the man running after him... He was really a very mischievous pup. Picking up the fancy dark blue button-up shirt in his mouth, he ran back to the living room, and it took less than five seconds before the sound of Jordan's voice ran through the entire building.   "Good boy... Please, give me that." The teacher spoke to him when Nico decided to stop for a while after seeing that the teacher was out of breath, but suddenly he changed his mind when he heard the woman's voice from the phone, calling for the Kind man, who now he knew to be named Jordan. "... No way, I want to play a little more!" Ignoring the Human's begging, he thought mischievously before starts to run again through the apartment. ... Happily with the shirt in his mouth while Jordan called desperately for him, trying several times to catch the pup uselessly until Fluffy allowed himself to get caught... "Oh, heaven! How can a little guy like you can have so much energy?" Nicholas could only laugh, hearing that. It wasn't the first time someone was asking him that, and in his Pack, he was known for never stopping, being always called the son of a true Alpha, especially by his mother... ... Niko was a small ball of energy that was most of the time seen running around if he wasn't with Serena. From an early age, he understood that his mother's health wasn't the same as the others, so he always makes sure to be quiet and behave when he was with her... ... And that was the only side of him that Jordan knew so far...  "What do you think of us going for a walk tomorrow after school?" Putting him back down, the professor asked him, making Fluffly bark back to him happily before the little Werewolf remembered what had been said to him a few weeks ago. And after seeing the pup's reaction, Jordan was the one who laughed now before stroking his head while saying that they should eat now before they got sick from being hungry. ... And so it was done, unlike the confusion of earlier, they ate the cold food in silence only with the subtle noise of TV as background music... Fluffy was playing, or rather saying, destroying the stuffed animal that Jordan had given him less than a week ago when the man came out of the bathroom in his pajamas. Going to bed, he waited for the puppy before covering himself while the little Werewolf cuddled up to his familiar scent again. ... Jordan didn't smell like his Pack or anything related to Werewolves at all, but the teacher's scent was comforting to Nicholas who through his instincts, his wolf side knew that this man was family and that he would never hurt him... "Goodnight, Fluffy." And in this way, another day ended with Jordan petting the pup who fell asleep in his arms, lulled by the Human's scent. "Yawn... Goodnight, Kind man." Forgetting the teacher's name, Nicholas fell asleep with the man while thinking about the next day's walk.
