Chapter Four

Its has been three days since the fire, the nightmares never stopped or calmed down. Id wake up screaming for my father, some nights id cry for my mother, other nights id beg for my brother. Esme would have to lay with me to calm me down, my wolf would surface and I would be on the brink of shifting. Alex would get so worked up that we would both lose control; I’d prey to the goddess to keep Esme and Charles safe from me. I don’t have control when I shift just yet; I had a lot to learn. I’m frightened that if I shifted without knowing, I would hurt them I don’t want that. I sat there and calmed my breathing, today I would be starting school and I was so nervous. I watched enough moves to know that high school could be good, our bad. What if someone recognises me or I run into bullies? I was ready for the day; I had been up since five due to the bad dreams. "Frey are you ready to go?" Esme called from down stairs. "Yes I’m coming down," I said as I stood up and slung my bag over my shoulder. I looked at myself in the mirror; I think I looked okay nothing to out there. It was cold out side so I decided on a pair of dark blue jeans, a black turtleneck, my black boots and a brown jacket with white woolly fabric inside for warmth. I walked down stairs and out the door to the car, where Esme was waiting. "You nervous?" Esme asked as she backed out of the drive way and on to the road. "Very," I said as I looked at my hands that were shaking, she grabbed them and squeezed. "Its ok to be nervous, everyone’s nervous on their first day but you’ll make many friends, who wouldn’t want to be friends with such a beautiful girl like you," she said as I smiled. "Just remember you cant tell people or let your emotions take over that will give you away, you'll start glowing literally," she said as we pulled into the school car park. I squeezed my eyes a bit the contacts irritating them; they sort of affect my vision as I had told Charles who then gave me a pair of glasses. They helped me see better, I put them on and looked out the window. Students leaned against cars and laughed with friends, I hoped one day that would be me. "I’ll be here to pick you up afterschool, I’ll have my phone on if anything happens. Have a great day I love you,” she said I smiled and nodded. "I love you to," I said as I stepped out of the car closing the door and looked at my new school. It was a tall brick building that had many windows, it looked so plain. Everyone’s eyes were on me, some smiled, some glared and the jocks winked and whistled. I walked toward the front doors and into the school. I passed many people who smiled but others turned their heads and whispered, I tried to not seem nervous as I walked into the office. "You must be the new girl, Frey Lewis? What a beautiful name, here’s your schedule, locker number and key. If you have trouble just make you way back here and I’ll do my best to help, and welcome to our school," she said as she handed me papers and smiled, I smiled and walked out to find my locker. I finally found it and placed all my stuff in it, leaving out what I would need for my next class. Science great... "Hey Frey!" someone yelled from the end of the hall, I turned to see Liam pushing through the crowd. "Hey Liam," I said as he greeted me with a hug and I did the same. "Hey can I see you schedule?" he asked I nodded and handed him the blue sheet. "Looks like we have nearly every class together except history, which you don’t have until tomorrow. We better go the bells about to ring, Mr West doesn’t like people to be late to his class," he said as we walked towards class were students were already piling in. "Miss Lewis nice to have you in our class, take a seat anywhere and be careful where you sit because that’s going to be your seat for the rest of the term," he said as he gave me a small smile and turned back to the board. Liam seemed very happy about that and I giggled as he led us to the back of the class, we sat down and opened our books. "Ok guys today were going to go over some of the things we learnt last term, lets hope that some of you remember," he said as he handed out a worksheet making everyone groan. We worked through the sheet in peers and I found it real easy with Liam to explain everything of course, seeing as he had been here last term. “Mr Jackson nice of you to join us," Mr west said as everyone’s gaze went towards the god in the doorway. His smell filled my noise and it was heavenly making me sigh, tropical fruit mixed with lavender, it made my mouth water. His gaze meet mine and I fell hard, my wolf purred and I couldn’t take my eyes off him. My body rushed with a feeling I had never felt before, his hair coal back, and his eyes ocean blue, he had high cheekbones all added to what I was feeling. My eyes travelled down his body, I could see his eight packs through his white shirt and he had ink on his shoulder and across his chest. "Take a seat Mr Jackson," Mr west said as he turned back to the board. He walked down towards me and sat on the desks next to me, I glanced at him, his eyes meet mine again and I saw the emotion in them. It wasn’t love...it was disgust. ‘MATE,’ Alex purred and I wondered… Why did he look at me that way? ***One hour later*** The bell rung and everyone stood up and packed up; I quickly grabbed my stuff and headed out the door. More like run nearly knocking people over, I stopped once I had made my way back to my locker. I opened it and placed my books in and grabbed my next set of books, my locker was pushed closed by Liam. "Hey you just left? Did I do something?" he asked. "No I just don’t know what happened, I just had to get out of there I’m sorry. Come on we have math," I said as I pulled him through the sea of students hoping that my mate wasn’t in my next class.
