"So how did your first day go?" Esme asked as I quickly got in the car.
Everywhere I went I felt eyes on me, I knew it was his but I just stayed away and out of his view.
"It was ok I guess," I said as I put my head down wondering what was going through mind mind this morning.
"I know that face what happened, you know you can tell me," she said as we pulled out of the car park.
"Nothing really happened, I just stayed with Liam. He asked if I wanted to go get coffee later," I said as we pulled into the drive way up on to the grass.
"Well I hope you said yes because me and Charles got you a late birthday present," she said as she squealed and got out of the car.
Charles walked out with a smile plastered on his face, I frowned and Esme walked towards him.
"What did you guys do now," I said as I looked at them, they just smiled.
"Well we figured that you wouldn’t want to be dropped off everyday and that you might want to hang out with friends after schools, and need to get around so..."
Esme looked up at Charles who looked down at her and smiled, I was a bit worried they had done something really drastic. Esme lifted up her keys opening the garage door, I looked to see a white convertible Range Rover sitting there.
"Oh my god, you guys really didn’t need to do this I could of brought my own car. I wouldn’t mind walking to school," I said looking at them.
"Nonsense, you’re seventeen and old enough to have your own car and we wanted to get you something for your birthday," Charles said as he smiled at me.
“You will also need these, we had them done up for you with a recent picture. You passed your tests back home we had everything done up for you so you will be good to go,” Esme said and smiled handing registration papers and my licence.
"You have done so much for me already, I couldn’t ask for more," I said smiling at them.
"Your keeping the car whether you like it or not and she’s full, so go get ready for your date with Liam," Esme said as she threw me the keys.
“Wait she has a date with Liam? Who the hell is Liam,” Charles asked getting worried and I smiled.
“Its not a date its just coffee with a friend,” I said and hugged both of them.
“Sounds like a date to me, first its coffee, then it’s a party, and them boom married,” he said and I laughed while Esme raised her eyebrows.
“Hey that’s not how it went for us, we’re not even married yet,” she said and I giggled.
"Thank you guys," I said as we made our way inside.
I ran up stairs and put my bag down, I took a quick shower before dressing in a pair of jeans and a tank top that reached my belly button. I pulled on some sneakers and added new makeup and put the contacts back in with my glasses on top. I grabbed my purse and texted Liam to meet me at the cafe.
"I’m going now, I’ll see you two later," I said as I walked out the door.
“If your not going to be home for dinner message me! Have fun!” Esme yelled from the door and I laughed.
“Not to much fun! But have fun!” Charles added poking his head out from behind Esme, who then dragged him back inside.
I opened the car door and stepped in, the smell of the car made me smile. The interior was all black and white, it was beautiful and I was so grateful. My dad had taught me how to drive when I was sixteen, and Esme had gotten my licence printed again because all my belongings were burnt in the fire. I drove out of the drive away and towards the diner just five minutes away. The ride was smooth but I had the feeling someone was watching me. I parked my car and locked it before heading inside.
"Hey, wow nice ride,” Liam said as he looked at my car.
“Birthday present, have you been in yet?” I asked and he nodded and I linked our arms.
I felt comfortable and normal around Liam, he smiled and we wen inside.
"I ordered you a caramel latte I hope that’s ok?" he said as we walked back to his seat and sat.
"That’s fine but I could of paid for it," I said as I smiled at him.
"No it was fine, I invited you here I’ll pay for the coffees," he said as he smiled at me.
I sipped the coffee and I fell in love for the first time.
"This is delicious I love it," I said as I licked the cream off my lip.
"Its good right, but my favourite is the white chocolate," he said as he sipped his cup.
"Lets play a game of twenty questions? Gives us a chance to get to know each other," he said and I smiled.
"Ok," I said as I looked at him.
"Favourite colour?" he asked.
"Blue," I said as I heard the door open and my mate walked in followed by a group of people.
His eyes meet mine and the same thing... disgust and hate. What was his problem? Had I done something wrong?
"What’s your favourite book?" I asked looking down at my coffee.
"Fifty shades of grey," he said and my head jerked up.
"Just kidding I just wanted to make you smile because you seemed sad, what’s wrong?" he said looking at me worried.
"Who is that?" I asked as I nodded my head toward my mate on the other side of the diner, he kept his eyes glued to us.
"That’s Gabriel Jackson, the top dog. He’s a player and gets what he wants, and those are his crew, and his skanky girlfriend Jenna Dickson why?" he asked.
Girlfriend? But I’m supposed to be his not her, I felt tears beginning to fall.
"Frey are you ok? You look like you’re... Glowing?" he said as he tilted his head to the side confused.
I looked at my hand and he was right, it had a dim light around it. I stood up quickly, and looked at Liam.
"I need to use the rest room, I’ll be back," I hurried to the restroom.
I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my golden eyes were glowing and showing through the contacts. I started to freak out not knowing what to do, this has never happened. Esme said it would If get to emotional, I needed to calm down. It was hard knowing that there’s another girl out there calling herself his GIRLFRIEND!
'Breathe baby girl breathe,' I remembered what my mother would say to me if I got scared or upset.
I closed my eyes and breathed in and out, I continued to do that until I felt my self getting calmer every time. As I opened my eyes I watched the glow fade and my eyes went back to normal, I sighed and wiped away the tears. I put on a smile and walked out to see Liam being held by the throat by Gabriel. I ran towards them and tried to push through the crowd that had formed.
"Let him go!" I yelled trying to push through the crowd making it to Liam.
I looked up at Gabriel, his eyes completely black his wolf had taken over. I placed a shaking hand on his shoulder feeling the sparks between my fingers, my body craved his touch but before Alex could think of anything else I shook her off and looked at Gabriel.
"Please Gabriel let him go,” I said and his eyes turned to me and suddenly his eyes faded back to the dreamy blue.
He let go and let Liam fall to the floor; I scrambled to his side lifting his head holding his face.
" I’m ok, I’m ok," he said as he held my hand.
I pulled him up and wrapped my arm around his waist; I grabbed our stuff and walked outside with everyone’s eyes on us. I looked over my shoulder to see him glaring at us; I glared back at him before turning back.
"Hey how about I buy you dinner, I’m not taking no for answer," I said as I held his hand and we walked towards the subway next to the diner.
We walked in and ordered; once we had our food we sat down.
"What happened? I was in the bathroom for two minutes," I said looking up from my sub.
"I don’t know he just grabbed me and held me against the wall, I don’t know what I did. I guess the big bad wolf wanted to show off because you’re new and beautiful," he said as he ate his food.
I blushed because he was the first boy to call me that, minus my father and brother. But I doubt he wanted to show off.
