Chapter 16 the truth & Lisa back

Star’s P.O.V
We both sat here in silence for a few minutes and my heart was going ten to the dozen, waiting for him to start talking and I was so nervous that my hands were becoming slippy they were sweating that much. This was too much, the tension was killing me and so I decided to break the ice and talk first.
“And what do you have to tell me?” I asked and watched as National took a deep breath, making me even more worried. Was it really that serious? Had I pushed him away too much or too far?
“I hope you wont be mad, but when I brought you back up to your old room yesterday I saw that box and I was curious as to what was inside it, so I looked and saw all those letters. I promise you that I didn't look at any of them. I didn't read anything and just put the lid back on, but it made me feel a bit insecure, like you weren't truly happy being with me. You don't tell me anything and I have to rely on the mate bond to know what you are feeling, so I want to know once and for all….are you happy, I mean truly happy?” National asked and I felt relieved, but also really guilty. I could only imagine what he was thinking or what he thought when he saw all those letters, but those letters are important to me. I knew I should have put them up, but I didn't know that he would actually look inside that box, then again it's not like I’m hiding them from him, but I guess it must have seemed that way to him.
“I’m not mad, National. I should have never left that box out in the open, I also didn't think you would ever be in that room either, but it's okay. Neither of us knew, I’m sorry if you felt like I was hiding them, but I wasn't. They are Nash’s old letters and they mean a lot to me. I hope you understand. When the time is right I will put them up.” I replied, looking him in the eye.
“I understand completely, it just shocked me because you have never mentioned them before. You don't have to put them up if you don't want to, but I needed to know if you are truly happy.” National said and I nodded.
“Yes, I am happy, I am truly happy. Now here we are and we are together and we are alone now…” I said, wrapping my arms around his neck and smiling. I felt bad for causing him to feel insecure, but from now on I was going to open up to him and show him just how much he meant to me.
National’s P.O.V
I was so happy that Star and I were working things out, that we had got everything out in the open. We were just about to christen our new room when I felt a mind-link come through. Great, this is just perfect timing, I sarcastically thought to myself.
“Alpha National, you are never going to guess who is on our territory.” The guard said, mind-linking me and I pulled away slightly from Star, making her whimper a little.
“Who is here?” I replied, shaking my head.
“Lisa. she is back and she says she has something to say to Luna Star.” The guard replied and I rolled my eyes, looking at Star.
“What? What's going on?” Star asked and I sighed.
“Well, Lisa is back and she has something to say to you.” I replied and didn't have time to say anything else as Star was already off the bed and out the door. I had to run to catch up to her and found her already outside, standing on the porch, face to face with Lisa.
“Star, calm down, it might not mean anything. She probably just wanted to stop by and say hello.” I said and Star looked up at me, giving me a funny look and I quickly stopped talking. After she gave me that look she returned her gaze over to Lisa.
“What do you want Lisa? Does Devon know that you are here?” Star asked and Lisa stepped forward, stopping at the bottom of the steps.
“Yes, he knows I’m here, he knows I needed to do this or I could never give him a chance. I needed to see if you are happy National. A bear and a wolf together, no one could have ever thought it was possible.” Lisa replied and looked over at Star, smirking. Lisa had a stupid smirk on her face and I just wanted to snap her neck and rid the world of her poison forever.
“Does she make you happy National?” Lisa asked and I sighed.
“Yeah, I’m happy. Star makes me very happy, she makes my whole life worth living and I love her. Now you need to leave or Star is going to kill you, you have about five seconds to get off of our territory because if she doesn't kill you then I will.” I replied and Lisa smirked again, like that was all she needed to hear. I hated this b***h so much and I wanted her dead, but I didn't want Star to do it, I didn't want Star to have to do anything like this just because someone was jealous.
“If you ever get tired of her, which I’m sure you will soon enough, then you know where to find me.” Lisa said and I could feel how angry Star was getting through the mate bond, while I just felt completely and utterly disgusted by her offer. I would rather cut my own d**k and balls off than to ever go near her.
“b***h, if you dont get the f**k out of our territory, I’m going to walk over there and rip your f*****g head off. I’m tired of hearing you speak, you're nothing but a disrespectful w***e. NOW GET THE f**k OUT!!!” Star shouted, but Lisa just smirked.
“Oh, I’ll be back and when I do come back I will get what's mine, not only National, but this territory too.” Lisa replied, smirking and putting her hands on her hips.
