Chapter 15 new room new memories

Star’s P.O.V

  A few days had passed and I was finally back at the doctors to get my stitches taken out, but National and the others were acting really weird, like they were hiding something, but what? The doctor came into the room and checked me over before and after removing the stitches, which I was so glad to get rid of, they were a pain in my ass.

  “You are healing quite nicely and very fast which is good, but I don't want you to shift into your bear until you are fully healed or you could do more damage and open everything back up again. Other than that you can do whatever you want to do.” The Doctor said and I nodded.

  “Thanks doc.” I replied and he left me there to get my clothes back on straight. National looked like he was deep in thought and then suddenly Kelly showed up, making me even more suspicious. What the hell are these lot up to? I knew something was going on, so for now I just decided to go along with it.

  “I just have to go and deal with something real quick, I’ll only be a few minutes I promise.” National said, kissing my forehead and I nodded. I waited until National had left the room before turning to face Kelly, who was trying her hardest to avoid eye contact with me.

  “Alright, spill it. What's going on?” I asked and Kelly started to laugh.

  “I told them it was a bad idea to have me watch you, especially when you always know when I’m hiding something.” Kelly replied and she was right. I always could tell when Kelly had a secret or when she was lying.

  “Exactly, now spill.” I said and she shook her head in defeat. 

  “Alright sis, I’ll tell you, but you have to act surprised. Promise.” Kelly said and I rolled my eyes. What was this, some covert mission?

  “Yes, I promise, now what's going on?” I asked and Kelly sat down next to me.

  “When you came out of here after surgery, you fell asleep and National took you upstairs to your room, but then he saw the box with all the letters inside. You don't tell National anything and he thinks it's because you are not truly happy with him. I think it's because you haven't fully let go of Nash yet, but that's okay, we just want you and National to make new memories in a new room. So, that is the big secret, you and National have a new room for you to start afresh in.” Kelly said, telling me everything that happened from last night to today and to say I was in shock was an understatement. I had no idea he felt that way, I had no idea I was doing that.

  “But what about all my family photos and boxes? What about Nash’s stuff?” I asked, unsure of this. 

  “The boxes will still be in your old room and you can go in there whenever you want, but that room was yours and Nash’s, it's filled with yours and Nash’s memories. Star, it's time, if you don't move on now then you are never going to move on.” Kelly said and I knew she was right. In a way I had been selfish by not wanting to let go and by keeping National at arms length when it concerned my feelings, but I really didn't mean to.

  “Alright, I’ll act surprised, just don't tell me what they did and that way I really will be surprised. Hold on, we didn't build a room for National and I, so where is this room?” I asked, trying to think of where it could be.

  “Well….that's another part of the surprise, you're right, you and National did not build the room and it wasn't on the plans because it was Noah and Luke’s idea. The pack felt you and National deserved a fresh start and to make new memories, so they built it in secret.” Kelly replied and I was gobsmacked. I had no idea they had done that, but how blind was I to never notice an extra room, I must have really been too exhausted and unwell to have missed it. I was about to say something else when National came back into the room, looking like he had just run a marathon with how he was breathing.

  “Are you okay?” I asked and he quickly nodded and straightened up, walking over to me and kissing my cheek.

  “Yeah, I’m all good. Are you ready to go back home now?” National asked and I nodded. We all walked back to the pack house and I was so happy that Kelly was here because without her I would have gone insane long before now. We made it to the steps just as Noah, Luke and the rest of the guys came out of the pack house.

  “What's going on? Is everything alright?” I asked, trying to act like I had no clue as to what they were up to.

  “Everything is fine, but we have a surprise for you.” Noah and Luke said, smiling at me. It was kinda creepy.

  “Alright, you need to close your eyes. I’ll walk you, but you can't open them until we get to where we are going.” National said and I nodded. I closed my eyes and felt as National waved his hand in front of my face, making me move back slightly from the movement, but then I felt something being wrapped around my head and covering my eyes.

  “What's this for?” I asked.

  “Just so you don't cheat and peek out.” Luke replied and he knew me way too well. National wrapped his hand around my waist and led me into the pack house, up the stairs, around a corner and down a long hall. I heard a door open and was led inside to wherever this was.

  “Okay, you can open your eyes now.” National said, removing the blindfold. I took a deep breath before opening my eyes and I was shocked, more like really really surprised. There was a huge bed, new dressers, mine and National’s photos were on the wall, along with mine and my brothers. There were new curtains in the windows, a couple of couches and chairs. I walked towards where I assumed was the bathroom and my mouth fell open when I opened the door saw inside. This bathroom was even bigger and I loved it. It had a his and hers sink, a heated towel rail that already had my favourite fluffy towel on it, a huge shower and jacuzzi bathtub. This was absolutely incredible. I closed the door and turned around, looking at everyone with tears in my eyes.

  “Thank you, thank you guys so much. I really don't know what to say, but I promise I’ll be the best mate and warrior Alpha ever for you.” I said and National walked over hugging me tightly. 

  “I’m sorry I’ve been so distant, I’ll try harder. I promise.” I whispered, burying my face in his chest.

  “It's going to be okay, honey. We can make our own memories now.” National said, kissing the top of my head and I smiled at him.

  “Come on guys, let them have their space.” Kelly said, giving me the thumbs up and I chuckled. Everyone left, giving me and National the alone time we desperately needed.

  “There's something I need to tell you….” National said, sitting me down on the bed and sitting next to me, taking my hands in his. Okay, now I was worried, I thought to myself.
