“Alpha!” Most of the pack that came fighting with me was calling me.
“Liam?!” Beta’s confused voice wasn’t the only thing confused about him. As he was standing near, his eyes were also asking me a lot of questions.
“ALPHA!” Zack growled. She was his catch. I shouldn’t have butted in.
“Alpha?” The whole pack was now getting close and they were all asking me what the hell I was doing. And I didn’t feel like answering. I knew that if I answered, I would accept this whole thing. This was crazy. From just the smell alone I knew she had at least wounded a few of my best warriors in the previous fight, if not even killed them. So why-
“Why the hell have you picked her, Chase?!” I yelled out loud into the minds of everyone in my pack that was close enough to listen.
“He picked her?”
“She’s his mate?”
“What about Claire back home?”
“Mate? Alpha found his mate?”
“A witch?”
“Mate? Alpha’s mate?”
“Now?”
“Claire will be-”
“Shut up everyone!” I finally had control over Chase as I growled. My mind was finally quiet again. I took a whiff off of her neck. It was true. She was the one. She was the chosen one by the Moon goddess. Her scent was so alluring I would blindly follow it until I died. It wasn’t just my imagination back then on the terrace. Her scent was pulling me in, not letting me pull away.
But her eyes were still wide open with fear. Her arms were in front of her, trying to push me away with whatever little strength she had left in her body.
“I…” I said but it had to sound like a wolf talking to her. Chase, you can’t be serious about this. NOW you want me to take over and change into a human?! NOW we’re talking?! NOW I clean up the mess you made?! You’re a coward for once! I hope you know that! I was yelling at Chase, who had decided to take a step back now that he had proclaimed his intentions. Fine, but don’t you dare try to manipulate me! She’s going with us as a prisoner, not a free person.
“You think she is, just wait, you will see what it feels like when you’re in your human body and she’s around.” Chase was mocking me in my mind. I grunted. I was finally calming down and the heat was leaving my body. I was turning into a human again.
“Stay away!” She suddenly pushed me into my naked chest yet I didn’t move an inch. She was as strong as a tiny fly.
“Your legs are bleeding.” I gently held the hand that she used to push me away. Confusion was mounting in her eyes.
“See, told you! There’s no way you can even tie her hands or feet together as your prisoner!” Chase was happily stomping in my body. He felt the victory over me. Shut up.
“Can I take a look?” I asked her, softly touching her boot to untie it and take it off. Zack took quite a bad bite through her leg. The scratches from his fangs were quite deep as well. While her skin was so white and porcelain-like, the blood looked awfully red on her.
“Let go!” She yelled at me but she didn’t even have the strength to get up.
I quickly pressed the biggest bleeding point to slow down the bleeding. Just how much did Zack stuff his ass with dill?! This should have started healing a while ago, so why is it still bleeding so crazily!
“If I do, you will bleed out. Is that something you want?” I asked her coldly. My insides were twisting and burning, making me nauseous from seeing so much blood on her. She finally grew quiet and stopped resisting.
I had to figure out how to stop her bleeding. I knew very well that just pressing down on the wound wasn’t going to cut it. She needed a healer quickly. Otherwise she was going to bleed out. She was a human without any extraordinary healing skills like us werewolves. We had no healer in our group and all the other witches had managed to take a run for it.
“Let go.” She repeated after a while, now a bit more calmly. My pack was slowly backing away from us, but they were making sure that they were staying close enough in case of danger. Her pleading eyes made me take my hands off of her leg.
She quickly grabbed a crystal glass green flask from her bag and let it disperse above her legs while whispering some enchantments. The bleeding slowed down, the blood itself even started flowing back while she was still whispering some weird words. I had heard the language many times in my life but never understood anything. I shuddered. All I knew was that hearing this language meant danger. Whenever we heard the enchantments in the battle, we had to run. It was the witch's tongue. It made another shiver go down my spine, realizing how close I was to one of the enemies. I was completely naked, my body and soul, both of them. If she did anything to me, or I did anything to her, it would cause an unthinkable pain I couldn’t ever imagine.
