Chapter six

Our trip back to the Palace was a quiet one, as I was deep in thoughts. The path through the market that leads us back to the Palace was still busy with traders returning to their various homes. I never knew how long we had spent at the market place until Rose alerted me of the time. "Do you think the story was real?" I asked the first guard. "No! My Princess." he replied without hesitation. "No one has ever heard of such a story, not even the royal family. I think it was made up by the story teller" Rose added. I just kept a gloomy face, still thinking of the young Uki and wondered if this a was real story. How he must have felt losing his only family and forever lost his way back home. I'm sure he was completely devastated at that time. "What do you think of the story?" The voice brought me out of my thoughts and my eyes fell on Rose who was still looking at me. "What?" I asked her. "I asked what you think of the story" she repeated the question with one of her eyebrows up still waiting for my answer. "I have never heard of such sad story before not even from the palace historian and so I don't know what to believe although I hope it's just a story. I still plan on asking my father about it. Let's hurry up it's getting really dark" I informed them. We got to the palace in no time and passed through the guards stationed at the entrance of the Palace. As we strolled through my father's quarters, I met Efe the little slave serving the king at the front of my father's quarters. "Greetings Princess Ivie" Efe bowed his head, greeting me. "Where's my father?" I asked him. "He is in his chambers with the Royal Physician" he informed me. "Very well then. I shall let him know we are back" I responded as I made my way to his chambers. On my way, I collided with the royal physician who was coming out from his room. "I'm sorry, my Princess" he apologized. "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking as well" I also apologized to him. "I heard you visited the market today. How was the experience?" He asked. "It was lovely. I had fun" I happily told him. "That's good" he said smiling at me. "Pardon my manners" he quickly added when he realised that I was here for a reason. "You may go in. The King awaits you in his room" He then gave me a slight bow and left. I also instructed my maid and guards to wait for me outside and so I went in alone.
