“I don't like this idea,”
Arthur squints his eyes when Billy is roaming around in his closet. He could hear that he was laughing at him, “Just relax. This is the brilliant idea that you should do it a long time ago. A man can easily change,” Billy chuckles, reasoning perfectly before carrying on with his explanation as he was throwing the shirts away from the closet. “I see what was going wrong here, where did you get these grandpa shirts? Like seriously dude,”
“Could you not mess my room,” Arthur grunts, collecting his scattered shirts from the floor and folded them nicely on the bed, he always makes his room neat nicely. "These grandpa shirts is the only I keep away from the spotlight," He answers to his previous question in an obvious tone, as Billy rolled his eyes, nodding, nevertheless.
He sees Billy pokes the box, blowing the dust away. “Dude, you have Tommy Hilfiger clothes even vans. How in the f**k you are not wearing them?” He picks out one of the unused sweaters and hoodies.
Arthur grumpily yanks them away from his hands, “That because I'll wait until I'm going for a college maybe,” He tells Billy almost rumbles, defending himself and folding them back into the box that causing Billy rolls his eyes and scoffs, “What's the difference? It was only a year left for that and you aren’t wearing those clothes if you want Rosalie to notice you,” He points out, causing Arthur to trigger to his own.
Arthur runs his hand through his golden blond hair, frustrating. “Rosalie has a boyfriend--”
“Tommy cheated her many times. They didn't talk, for now. So, you get in the line,” Billy chuckles, picking up the plain navy-blue shirt from the closet and skinny brown jeans from the box “Take these, you going to wear this one,” He shot Arthur a rare grin, waving off to sign him to get ready.
Arthur hesitantly grabs it from Billy as he walked to his bathroom to change. He keeps babbling as he doesn't know if the idea is going to work somehow. He throws his shirt on and slips on the pants, but they are quite tight, he almost falls when he struggled to put on.
He got those clothes from his grandfather on Christmas gifts who is from United Kingdom. Yes, he is a british but born and grown up in United States; he doesn't get the accent from his parents, but he doesn't know who his father is.
On his thoughts, he doesn't want to wear them yet since he didn't interest to change himself or glow up like Billy would say but at the same time he likes to go, it feels like a dilemma. He opened the door with a frown look. “This is not really going to work. I don't really want to go--” He starts, couldn’t help but curse under his breath, pulling his thick eyebrows low over his gleaming eyes.
“f*****g hell work out your confidence man. The last thing to do is your spectacle, it was too big,” He retaliates, making him scoff. “We should get to the power lens so you can see them,” He picks out the phone as he checked the time.
Arthur sighs heavily, making him press his lips tightly together, “I have them in my bathroom,”
Billy looks up with the amused look but somehow annoyed, “Why the hell you didn't wear them since the beginning?” He chuckles dryly, “Don't tell me, you are also going to wear them two years later,” He says with a hint of sarcasm.
Arthur bashfully smirks teasingly, “No, it was the emergency if I lost my glasses or something, ” He clears his throat when he remembered the last time he wore them at the school, his classmates were staring at him like a prey and his panic anxiety hits him hard that he had to go home early that day.
“Right,” Billy says even though he seems to unconvinced from what he said “Go get it, we still got the time anyway and Rosalie must be there early--”
“Bill, " He starts, continued to look down uncertain. "What if I couldn't do it? What if they knew me? What if I embarrassed myself in front of Rosalie? I definitely don't want to go to school if that happened,” Arthur utters lowly, the upsetting emotions lace with his heavy tone had Billy quickly show his concern.
“Woah relax, you stress a lot about it like a girl, " He chuckles, trying to lessen up the mood with him but it didn't calm Arthur. He sighs heavily with a soft sympathetic smile. “Look, just be yourself and you won't do the mistake, I'll show you how it's done,” Billy assures, but still the worried-on Arthur looks didn't disappear, but he gazes at him attentively as he spoke.“How about this, we are going to do the easier way,”
They arrive at the house in about sixteen minutes, the street is already packed with cars. Some teenagers are stumbling across the road towards the beach and many of them are outside smoking, one or two are even pass out on the lawn. Arthur frowns, fumbling his messy wavy dyed black-haired which new because he always put the gel on before he goes out.
“Is it not too late if I turn back? --” Arthur starts, and Billy frowns ferociously caused him stuttering, staring down at his feet. "Fine,"
As they step out Billy's car, Arthur could hear the extremely loud music playing. The lawn is filled with empty solo cups, random trash and food wrapping, cigarettes and all kinds of things that he pretty sure doesn't even want to know about. “I bet someone is vomiting by the bushes right now,” Arthur cringes on the thoughts.
“Don't make that face, Artie,” Billy chuckles heartily, patting on his back for his ease, “You already look great behind that nerd type. I'm sure, this senior party might remind you of something forever,” “Yeah sure,” He murmurs with a shake of his head and thinking he really wants to get this over with. He did rather now stay at home, reading or drawing he always does. But he needs for occasionally to get some fun? “That doesn't sound right,” Arthur thoughts again. Lucky his step mom on her outstation, or else she rants out for everything of him being this life of party. He will blame Billy after this.
Rosalie is probably there already as the party has been going on for about an hour and a half. The reason they late because they spent, working on Arthur socialize. He keeps repeating his speech like what Billy taught him for what's he going to say to her if they ever bump to each other.
“Remember what I told you to?” Billy smirks, elbowing his shoulder and Arthur snaps his head to his right, shrugging lightly in response to what Billy had asked as he tugged the leather jacket that he borrowed Billy’s, “Well, good luck. If you have any trouble, I'll be there,” Billy assures him,
They step inside, Arthur already scrunches up his nose when the house smelled like alcohol and sweat, not the best combination from what he thoughts. A bunch of people are on the dance floor, grinding against each other which Arthur blinks his eyes so innocently and looked away immediately. He murmurs to deny invitation as the girls started to catch his attention as he shakes of his head. Another pro of this place; the looking amazing foods on the table.
“There she is at,” Billy points out to where Rosalie at, making him flick his gaze over his shoulder to look at she's with her friends, drinking. “I guess Tommy is not around her yet, it was time for you get in the line,” Billy snickers with the bright eyes, his crude words making Arthur pouts and frowns.
“B-but I thought I could not rush into her,” Arthur says to Billy, making him scoff. “Yeah, okay. How about, I will just introduce you to her and we going to like talking until I take her friend's attention and you can be alone with her,”
Still, he's so not ready for this but he nods his head somehow shortly after, Billy grins as he led Arthur to her. “Remember, act cool but not overacting. Don't freak out whenever it comes to romantic,” Billy chuckles, poking his cheeks making Arthur grimaces.
However, his heart beating starts to race like crazy that he's going to talk to his crush, and he feels intimidate enough being in a huge room with so many other people already; he couldn’t imagine what it’d be like in a closed to her. Get your s**t together Arthur, he scolds himself. This will be a long night.
His throat instantly dry when Rosalie suddenly lock her gaze with him then Billy as they are walking to her way. "Hey, girls, " Billy greeted them like he always does while Arthur already looks in awe, utterly captivating by Rosalie in a green body-con dress that stops her at the middle of her thighs which matching to her stunning eyes, her hair is in loose waves and finished with a black strappy heels.
Rosalie's jade pale eyes keep glancing Arthur's way, "Hey, Bill. Took you long enough," She tells to Billy and finally grin mischievously, "Who's that handsome snack over there," She eyed on Arthur as she licked her lips seductively which surprisingly him. He never thought he is good-looking, and he was being told that he was the sweetest, most down-to earth person one could ever met.
His heart is already pounding hard against his chest, "My friend, Archie. He's the reason I'm late, " Billy answers with a cheeky smirk tugging at his thin lips and elbowing Arthur's arm. Arthur nods quickly, "Uh, yeah, what's up, " He mumbles shyly, waving his hand enough the girls already are swooning over him.
