I knock on Ben’s door, wondering what he has in store for us tonight. He sounded so excited on the phone, his enthusiasm was contagious- I haven’t stopped grinning since I talked to him. Not that it’s a surprise. We could sit down together and do our taxes and I swear it would be fun. Well, maybe not fun, but it would certainly be more enjoyable than doing it on my own.
He opens the door and my heart does this stupid little twist that it does every time I see him. How can he look so scrumptious in a grey Henley shirt?
“Hey, come in out of the cold,” he smiles at me as he holds the door wider. After closing the door, he wraps his strong arms around me and kisses me until I feel like I’m just a big puddle on his floor. Kissing him never gets old.
