“Are you coming to the meeting, Smash?” Tess asks as she walks past me heading for the conference room. There are better things we could all be doing rather than pandering to Don’s need for attention, but we don’t have a choice but to show up for the mandatory meeting. Besides, he’s supposed to announce who he’s awarded the promotion to today, and I can’t help but feel a little anxious to get it over with.
“Yeah, I’ll be there in a second,” I smile at her. “I just wanted to load up the autoclave to run a cleaning cycle while we’re in there.”
