Haircut

The next day I wake up early from the force of habit, but since I have no idea what I should do and all I have to wear are some pink sexy pajamas Lexi gave me last night, I decide that for now, I should just wait here. I cried myself to sleep last night and now my eyes are red and puffy so I definitely don't want to meet the perfect-looking Lexi in the hallway. As for Alexander, with things between us being like they are, I don't want to meet with him at all. I must have felt back to sleep while meditating about my shitty life since I almost have a heart attack when I feel someone shaking my shoulder. I open my eyes and I see Lexi. "Morning! Did you sleep well?" She greets me with a sunny smile and golden perfect waves of hair falling around her fresh face. "Yes, thanks for the pajamas." I answer trying to run my hand through my hair so it won't look like an abandoned nest. I am not very successful, I fear, since it hasn't been brushed for quite some time. "Your hair is a disaster." She says noticing my embarrassment. "How about a haircut today?" I look skeptical at her. "Alex is out. He has something to do and won't be back till lunch. I can get you to the hairdresser of the pack. It won't take long." She insists, getting excited. "Am I allowed to leave the house? He made it quite clear that I am a prisoner." I say, not wanting to risk another yelling just to get a haircut. Because I will suffer the consequences, not her. "There is no way he will notice. Trust me. I have dark hair. When I first got blonde, it took him a week to notice." That surprises me since I remember Alexander being very attentive when we were young. But she is his... girlfriend. I still hate remembering this. She knows him best. And... The worst that can happen is another yelling. I think I can take that risk for a haircut. I nod and she gets excited, jumping on my bed. "I will get you some clothes." Half an hour later, I am in a pair of black jeans and a simple white T-shirt. Lexi is dressed almost the same. She was right, she doesn't have fancy clothes, the type you would expect from an Alpha's... girlfriend. Her closet is full of T-shirts in all colors, a few pairs of jeans and some jackets. I like that. The hairdresser is a nice old lady that tries her best not to look horrified when she sees the disaster on my head. "Can you save it?" Asks Lexi, sounding truly concerned. "She has such beautiful hair, it would be such a waste to cut it." "I will try, Miss Lexi. She does have beautiful hair. And such a color. I have only seen it before once when the former queen gave me the honor to cut her hair. Such a shame she is gone." The old lady says and my heart shrinks. I wonder what my parents are doing. Is anyone getting the food? Alexander ordered the Alpha to take care of them but knowing him... I can't help but worry. "Such a shame my ass. They deserved everything they got. And the fact that they got away.... Ugh, it still pisses me off." I am shocked by Lexi's words. What have we done to her? When the rogues attacked the palace, the guards escorted me out and my parents remained to fight. After the battle was lost, we had to run. Then we met Alpha Leon in the forest next to the battlefield who said that the rest of the Alphas decided that since the king lost the castle he is no longer fit to rule. He said we are no longer welcomed in the kingdom, but he will offer us a place to stay. My father was heartbroken, and didn't believe, but he accepted for the shake of me and my mother, who was badly injured. Since then, we had no contact with the rest of the werewolf world. "You haven't met them, Miss Lexi. I still find it hard to believe what they did." The old lady answers looking down. "Well, I felt their betrayal on my own skin, so I believe." Lexi screams as she storms out of the room. The old lady is almost in tears, so I put my arm on her shoulder and give her a shy smile. "It's ok, sweet girl. She has all the right to be angry. After what happened to her... Poor girl." "What happened to her?" I ask, curious. "Let's not gossip. She will tell you if she wants. Until then, you are done." She says smiling proudly. I look in the mirror and I can't help but cry. My hair. It's back to normal, long and wavy, falling on my back like liquid silver. "Thank you so much!" I say in between sobs. But now the old lady opens the door for me and I freeze. Lexi came here with me. And since she got angry and left, now I have to go back to the pack house alone. I know the way, of course, I know this pack's territory as I know the back of my hand, but right now I don't know how welcome I am. I finally make up the courage and start walking. I meet a few pack members on the way, but since I don't smell like a rogue, they probably assume I am a guest. I doubt I look threatening either. When I finally get back to the house I am relieved. But it lasts only for a second. "Miraj?" Asks a girl's voice. I recognize it. She is Alexander's little sister, Arya. "Princess Miraj?" She used to call me big sis and hug my leg, now, she is growling at me with such anger that I can't help but take a step back. "You, piece of s**t! How dare you show your face here?" She asks in a voice that sounds less and less like a human and more like a beast. Before I can answer, she transforms into a huge black wolf and attacks me.
