7. Accomplice

Aspen POV

No way, reporting to Samantha only means trouble. She would immediately report to the Alpha or Luna and that would arose their suspicions. I can't imagine what would happen next, but what I am definitely sure of is that they are going to get punished for it.

"Hold on a moment, don't you think you all are in a haste to come to such conclusion!" I decided to buy more time. If they hold on a little longer, maybe they would have crossed the borders and turned rogue. By then, they would have found the freedom they quest for.

"Are you saying that we are acting impulsive?" Chloe grabbed my cheeks and I couldn't even hold back my glare.

"I didn't say that Chloe, you assumed that! I was only giving a mere suggestion!" I voiced out while trying to free my cheeks from her rough touch.

"Let's go and inform madam Samantha then !"

I was trailing behind them and soon enough they found Samantha.

"Madam Samantha,we have to inform you of something very important!" Lily annoyed with a high pitched voice and Samantha stood very alert and alarmed.

"And that is?" She pretended to be very uninterested when in fact her curiosity had rosen to it's peak.

"We would like to tell you that…" Chloe began in her saucy time but a familiar voice interrupted. I didn't need to turn back to know that it was the Beta of the pack, my father who had obviously cut ties with me as his daughter for shaming him right in front of everyone.

"What's happening right here!" He demanded and by now Samantha was now shaking for no reason. Others were even cowering at his voice and Chloe wasn't left out. I on the other hand only avoided his gaze so as not to cause any troubles for myself.

"Beta! I was only trying to tell her that an omega has been missing since morning, we think something bad might have happened to her!" Chloe showed fake concern and added more to her words. Her voice was very low and gentle and one would even notice her quivering at some point.

"What an actress!" I scowled inside my head before rolling my eyes.

"Do you have anything to do with this?* Suddenly he diverted his attention towards me. He seemed to have noticed me rolling my eyes and immediately asked that question the next second.

"Now I am in some deep s**t!"

"No Da.."I was met with a scowl and I immediately paused in the mid sentence. "No Beta Steve, I don't know anything about this!"

"Good, because if you do, I won't hesitate to throw you right back into the dungeons!" There was a few snickers right behind me.

"But you were just trying to defend her a while ago!"

"I did nothing of such!" I said through gritted teeth. This omega bitches were trying to involve me in a huge mess and I am no cool to enter right into their trap.

"Besides I wasn't the one borrowing anyone bags and the next second those people were declared missing!" I decided to turn the situation around. I had intentionally used petty talks to while away time and also get more time to punish these bitches.

She kept mute for a second and had nothing to say.

"Take her in for some investigation!" He ordered the guards and they took Lily away.

"No! No! I had nothing to do with this, believe me!" She wailed profusely as they dragged her away. Now I was beginning to feel a little guilt for her.

"Give me a vivid description of Eva!" He immediately asked and immediately ordered another set of guards to go and check on her belongings .

"There's nothing left behind Beta Steve!" They reported back a few minutes after.

"It seems to me like she was trying to escape the pack! I have notified the alpha and the patrol guards to keep alert! She couldn't have went too far!" My heart skipped a beat at his words and I increased my prayers to the moon goddess. But wait, who am I kidding? Did I really think that the goddess would answer the prayers of a mere omega like me and a wolfless one at that.

Soon we were right back in our rooms and I did my best to ignore the heated stares from the others.

"You b***h! You allowed them to take lily!" Chloe pointed a finger at me. Soon she progressed towards me, her face filled with malice intent.

Of course, I had anticipated for something like this, especially when I had gotten their ring leader in trouble.

"I didn't give the orders Chloe, maybe you should go and question the beta!" I mocked her. I intentionally had a smirk on my face knowing fully well that would annoy her further.

"Don't you dare call my name freak! You aren't worth it!" She hissed and immediately grabbed my hair. Soon I realized a few omegas also joining her and circling me.

"I had known she was up to no good!" One of them muttered with a disdainful look on her face.

"If something bad happens to Lily during the time of her investigation, I swear to the moon goddess that I will bury you alive!" She growled loudly in my ears. I knew she was dead serious especially when she had sworn with the celestial goddess's name.

"Don't you think maybe we should give her a good beating so she doesn't repeat this again?" She c****d her head and many immediately supported the decision.

Her eyes had a faint glow and I immediately knew that she was calling her wolf, her hands turned into claws and she immediately raised them very high in an attempt to s***h me.

"I think I heard footsteps just now, you better scram before my mouth starts running again, maybe one of you will be lucky to have a cell next to Lily!" I threatened, one by one they began to back off and paid more attention to the door.

"Hey!" Someone barged in, it was one of the omegas in the other dorm who had obviously come here to spill so e gossips.

"The runaway omega has been captured!" She announced and I couldn't hold back my tongue.

"What!"

"Good for her!" Chloe smirked and readjusted her hair.

Really!" The other omegas were murmuring and giggling amongst themselves.

"Do you know what's more interesting?" The girl continued with glee in her tone probably pleased that she had a massive audience.

"What?" This time it was said by almost everyone.

"She had an accomplice!" At this point, my shoulders drooped.
