Aspen POV
"She had an accomplice!" At this point, my shoulders drooped and worry was written over my expression. Soon the nosy omegas trooper came out and after a long time, I decided to follow suit. The moment I stepped outside, I immediately noticed Blake with his hands draped around her. Layla on the other hand had a very contented look on her face. My father stood right beside the alpha with a very stern look on his face.
"Oliver! How dare you run away from the pack?" The alpha asked with a betrayed look on his face. He didn't look happy but as he folded his hands right in front of his chest.
"I have no good reason to defend myself alpha, you can punish me instead but please don't punish my mate!" I beg of you alpha." My eyes were beginning to gleam with tears at this point. He knew that he was in very big trouble at the moment but all he cared about was his mate… Eva. I felt a great pang of pain at that moment. Here's someone willing to go all lengths for their soul mate while mine berated my existence and even rejected me. My gaze flickered to Eva and I couldn't take it any more so I shifted my gaze.
"I'm not the one to decide that Oliver!" Alpha Asher said with a loud and clear voice. Of course many were taken aback by his words, myself included. I mean he's the alpha and why's he not making the decision.
"Since Blake is going to be the future alpha of the Raven pack, I am going to let him decide on this and his decision is final!" He announced and I could see many of the wolves nodding in agreement. Dread filled the pit of my stomach as I immediately knew that he would be up to no good.
"Alpha, don't you think that's too rash and quick, besides the future alpha hasn't gone through all the training yet…" My dad began to speak but he was interrupted.
"This is part of his training Steve!"
"Very well alpha!" He immediately bowed with submission and without questioning him any further.
"Sweetheart, you should make sure you give them the perfect justice for their punishment! So that the others would learn from it!" Layla said with a high pitched voice and even maintained an innocent look on her face.
"Since tonight is my mate's birthday, I am feeling generous and I am going to grant your wish!" He paused and I knew he had done that to create some kind of effect.
"First I am going to strip you off your powers and also lock you up in the silver cage where you will be tortured till the next full moon!" He ordered. Silence immediately filled up the whole room at once. I mean every sane wolf dreaded the silver room because silver is poisonous to wolves. To worsen it all, any one put in the silver cage will be extremely tortured with wolfsbane and silver. Some were tortured to the point that they lose their senses and feel numbness in their entire being. My experience in the dungeons was very small compared to this.
"No! You can't do this to Oliver alpha! He had done nothing wrong to the pack! I'm the one who orchestrated the plan, punish me instead!" She wailed and made to follow Oliver who was being dragged away by the pack guards but she was immediately pinned down by some strong and agile guards.
"Good decision Blake," the alpha parted his son before leaving. Soon everyone starts to leave, leaving Eva wailing and sobbing on the floor. I slowly walked up to her and comforted her. Of course I could do nothing to stop her bad fate but at least I could let her know that I will be there for her.
"Why is this happening to me?" She continued wailing and I held her In a tight hug. "Oliver has done nothing wrong, why does he have to go through so much pain!" Her voice was now turning into a scream which is exactly what I don't want. She might attract attention back to her and this might surely stir trouble which is bad at this moment.
"Why are you wailing on the floor you pathetic omega?" A very familiar voice called out and I didn't have to look back. Of course it was Layla with a stern look on her face. She was directly talking to Ava and her face went red.
"Is there anything you want Layla?" I asked while staring at her directly in her eyes which made her more furious. Of course, lower ranking wolves don't dare to stare at the high ranking members because it would mean a great disrespect and challenge.
"Of course there is, why is she still wailing on the floor after successfully ruining my party with her stupid escape plan! I also believe that Blake was very lenient with the punishments!" She glared at Eva who only lowered her gaze and slowly wiped off the tears that were rolling down her cheeks.
"Put yourself in her shoes Layla, her mates and her are just separated," I tried to put some reasoning in her brain but she scowled at me. Just like I had expected. Right now, I am not a bit afraid of her after she had stopped so low for Blake. I had a confident look on my face because I lay her finger on me now because I have the upper hand.
"I am the beta's daughter and I have a formidable wolf unlike you, so stop dreaming because I would never have to walk a mile in her shoes!" She said with confidence oozing out of her.
"Don't be too sure Layla!"
"If you weep one more time, I'll have the guards lock you up in the dungeons." She threatened with a thick scowl on her face.
"If you dare to make any stupid move Layla, I will tell everyone that Blake and I were ex mates!" I threatened her with a serious look on my face. "Now you choose between keeping it a secret or punishing Eva?"
