Aspen POV
Even though the thought sounded like a good one at the moment, I just couldn't go just like that. I haven't even planned. Unlike Eva, she's got everything carefully planned out. She's got someone to lean on, someone to fight for her to their last breath and the most important of them all is that she's got her own wolf.
While I on the other hand has gotten nothing, blatantly nothing! I'm not sure if I could even last more than ten minutes outside the border before some feral rogue finds me and shreds me into pieces. I shrugged at the mere thought of that.
But if I stay in this pack too, there's no possibility that I won't rot in the pack dungeons anytime soon and by that I meant when Blake ascends as the alpha of the Raven pack. I could feel a dread feeling at the pit of my stomach just by the mere thought of that.
If I were to get out of this pack now, no pack would ever accept me, I have no wolf and perhaps they've probably heard of my story as the fallen beta of the Raven pack and even return me to my dad.
That will be far worse and make my life more hellish. I could already see my dad with his eyes blazing red in anger and hitting me. He could even throw me in the dungeons for Layla, just imagine the mere thought of me running off and disgracing him. I don't think I will then be alive to tell the story.
All the while I was sitting down and brooding alone in the darkness, I could hear the footsteps of some omegas and they were gossiping as they made their way to various rooms. Soon some of them entered the room and I immediately sat up. Gladly they paid me no attention and continued chatting.
"Is he really going to have his alpha ceremony in the next full moon?" One of them whispered with curiosity in her eyes.
"You heard what the alpha said too, Lily, he's going to become the pack's alpha by the full moon since he has found his mate!"
"Beta Layla is really lucky and she's also pretty!
"I envy her, how lucky is she to have a tall, rich and future alpha of the pack as her mate!"
"I also wish I had that kind of luck!" Another one spoke with a longing look in her eyes. I couldn't help but grimace on the other hand. If only they knew how nasty and cruel minded he is, they wouldn't even get attracted or attached to him.
"By the way, where is Eva?" Lily asked scrutinizing her gaze as she searched around the room.
"Why are you looking for her?" One of the girls scoffed, obviously not pleased at the interruption of their important conversation by bringing up nobody.
"How are we supposed to know?" Another girl with a slightly hoarse voice shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.
"Well, I borrowed her my favorite blue bag yesterday and she was supposed to return it today!"
"Hold on, why does she even need a bag?" One of the girls asked with a suspicious look on her face. At this point, my fragile heart was racing like a raging horse and I began to really feel scared for Eva.
"She said she wanted to use it to pack some item which she wanted to give to someone and she would return it back today!"
"I haven't even seen her since we started serving, I don't think she came for the party!"
"Me either!" Someone voiced her.
"Same here!" Another girl muttered and it was soon chorused across the room.
"Is anyone thinking what I am thinking?" Lily said out as she heard out her hands as if she's trying to arrange the pieces.
"I think I am reading your thoughts baby girl!" One girl with very short black hair tried to joke but was welcomed with a thick scowl.
"Hold on, by any chance does the blue bag have a black zipper!" A girl with a slightly dark skin named Hannah spoke. She had soft black curls with eyes as black as the night. I somehow envy her beauty.
"Of course Hannah! Of course!" Lily was losing her patience at this point.
"It's definitely the one!"
"When was the last time you saw her?" Someone asked.
"Just before we started with the preparations! I walked into the room and she immediately zipped up the bag and was sweating profusely but I didn't pay much attention to her!" Hannah timidly explained as all eyes were on her.
"I saw her this evening!" I finally decided to swallow down my fear and speak. Immediately the room became dead silent and all eyes were suddenly on me.
"No one asked for your opinion, silly!" One of them scowled and the rest immediately burst into giggles.
"Stop staring at me or I might get sick!" She burst into giggles and I couldn't help but bit my lower lip.
"A freak with freaky eyes!" One blonde girl mocked. I think her name was Chloe because I remembered Blake flirting with her one time like that. I immediately knew why she said I had freaky eyes, it was because I had blue eyes...hold on there's nothing wrong with having blue eyes right, in fact most people regarded it as being beautiful, gorgeous and attractive. But there is something definitely wrong with mine because it was coated with black on the outside.
But I had gotten used to their insults over time, knowing fully well that they wouldn't stop. Just a few months ago, I found that my hair was growing a blue streak and I almost freaked out. I had obviously not dyed my hair and I had never seen or heard anyone growing a blue hair in the pack. That will obviously worsen the insults so I immediately dyed my hair black to cover it up.
"We shouldn't waste any more time girls and report this to madam Samantha immediately!" A familiar voice said, snapping me out of my revivre.
