Tyson POV
Eric Sampson leaned back in his chair, peering at me over his desk.
“So, you wish to borrow our new software to implement in the Maxwell building?”
I nodded.
“Yes.” I said. “I believe we’ve gained the trust needed for you to lend it to us for a short period of time.”
I called a meeting with Mr Sampson to improve security at my research facility, Maxwell building. I had my Beta Kayden and my Gamma Garrett with me as some kind of bodyguards. I really hated it, but it was necessary at the moment.
Maxwell building was entirely run by werewolves and lycans, the British military being our greatest business partner.
We designed training simulators for the military, along with some sophisticated weapons and other kinds of technology.
It was the packs’ greatest income and as the king, I was the CEO of the company.
Mr Sampson let out a breath.
“Anything you need.” He agreed. “But if I may ask, does your wish to increase security have anything to do with Amadeus Levin demanding your head?”
I sighed. I had received a lot of death threats from Amadeus. He had once been one of my closest advisors. He thought that we should interfere more with the werewolf packs. I disagreed. The werewolf packs were doing fine on their own and if they were in trouble or needed help with anything I didn’t hesitate to step in. But I didn’t have to control them.
We disagreed to the point where Amadeus left the pack. But it didn’t take long until we started hearing rumors about Amadeus gathering Rogue forces to overthrow me. He had demanded my head and was prepared to pay a lot of money for it. I didn’t want to underestimate him, so I needed the extra security.
“Unfortunately, the rumors are true.” I sighed.
Mr Sampson nodded.
“I will send my technicians to set up the software for you.” He said. “I also have another way to increase security.”
“Do you want to help, then I’m interested.” I said.
“Of course.” Mr Sampson replied. “The Lycan and Werewolf communities are our allies. I think it’s in the humans’ interest to maintain that alliance.”
I nodded.
“That is much appreciated.”
Mr Sampson pressed a button on his desk.
“Find Agent Adams.” He said. “Immediately.”
“Yes sir.” A female voice replied.
For the next few minutes, we discussed the details of the software installation in the Maxwell building.
I had to admit, I was a little curious about Agent Adams and what kind of plans Mr Sampson had.
A knock at the door interrupted us and a woman in her forties with straight, red hair in a low bun and a black suit entered the office.
“I have Agent Adams for you.” She said. “It doesn’t look pretty.”
Mr Sampson smirked and stood up from his chair.
“This way gentlemen.”
Mr Sampson led us out to a large control center. A large screen lit up the wall in front of us.
“It’s live.” The red-haired woman said and swiped on a tablet.
The screen revealed camera surveillance from a large room. It seemed to be some kind of cellar.
Four men in suits were in the room, surrounding a small, dark-haired woman. The woman was on her knees, her dark stockings were torn and revealed large patches of her creamy white skin. Her shoes were tossed to the side and she had her hands duct taped behind her back.
A man in a light grey suit seemed to be in charge. He was standing right in front of the girl, making her look up at him. They seemed to be talking to her about some kind of plan to extend shipping opportunities. Mr Sampson quickly asked an assistant in the control center to scribble down what they said.
I eyed all of the men and frowned.
Were any of them Agent Adams?
“So which one is your guy?” Garrett asked.
Mr Sampson smirked.
“It’s the girl.” He said.
Kayden, Garrett and I glanced at each other.
“I don’t understand.” I said. “How can she help?”
“I will assign her to be your new bodyguard until we are able to get the system up and running at Maxwell Building.” Mr Sampson stated matter-of-factly.
“How is she supposed to protect anything when she’s been kidnapped herself?” Kayden asked skeptically.
Mr Sampson nodded at the red-haired woman.
“Ms Grayson.” He mumbled.
Ms Grayson tapped on her tablet for a minute.
“There’s a cell phone in the room.” She muttered.
“Call it.” Mr Sampson ordered.
The call was put on speaker and we all waited silently for them to pick up.
When the man in the light grey suit picked up Mr Sampson spoke.
“Put the woman on the phone now.” He ordered.
That seemed to irritate the man, because he pulled out a gun.
“Who are you to order me around?” He said. “I will kill this little b*tch right here.”
“No you won’t.” Mr Sampson replied calmly. “Because I will not hesitate to take down the whole building, along with you and your friends.”
The man was quiet for a moment, but put the phone on speaker and reached it out in her direction.
“Alright.” She greeted.
Her voice was melodious and I heard my wolf Dax purr in my head.
“What the f*ck was that?” I asked bewildered.
“I don’t know.” He replied.
I turned my attention back to the screen right when Mr Sampson asked Agent Adams to return to the headquarters immediately.
Agent Adams sighed.
“I’ve worked really hard on this one.” She muttered.
“It won’t go to waste, I promise.“ Mr Sampson assured.
Agent Adams nodded.
“Fine.”
I blinked, surprised at what happened next on the screen.
The hands that had been bound behind her back flew up and she punched the man in front of her in the groin. He fell to his knees while she got up and quickly attacked the man closest to her.
She wrapped her legs around his waist and headbutted him. Taking advantage of his disorientation, she made a half cartwheel and used her legs to throw him to the ground.
One of the men grabbed her around the waist from behind and pulled her away from his friend while the fourth man came up in front of her to help subdue her. She was basically sandwiched between them.
“Stop playing with them, young lady.” Mr Sampson muttered.
I stared in awe as she kicked up her legs and wrapped them around the neck of the guy in front of her, taking her off the ground momentarily. She managed to elbow the guy behind her in the neck, making him splutter and drop her. Using the momentum, she swished around with her legs still wrapped around the other guy’s throat. He had no choice but to jump in some weird forward flip and land on the first guy who was still clutching his sore throat.
Agent Adams stepped off the heap of men lying underneath her and dusted off her hands nonchalantly.
The second man she had hit got to his feet and lunged at her. My eyes widened in surprise when she did a backflip over him and landed behind him. With a perfectly executed roundhouse kick, she sent him flying into the wall and he was knocked unconscious.
Agent Adams picked up the phone from where the man in the gray suit had dropped it. He was still hyperventilating from the pain, still on his knees.
“Will someone come and clean this up or should I do that before I come in?” She asked.
“There’s a team on their way to relieve you as we speak.” Mr Sampson replied. “There will be a change of clothes waiting for you. Those stockings ain’t going to cut it.”
I saw Agent Adams frown. Her eyes darted around the room before falling on the camera.
“Thank you, Sir.” She replied before she curtsied in the camera’s direction. “I’m on my way.”
With that, she took her shoes and left the room.
I heard Ms Grayson snicker.
“What just happened?” Kayden asked me over the mindlink.
“I have no idea.” I replied before turning my attention back to Mr Sampson.
“I see that she has a lot of skill.” I began. “But I don’t think a human could stand much of a chance against a werewolf or a lycan.”
Mr Sampson smirked.
“Believe me, my king.” He said. “If there’s anyone who can, it’s this girl.”
After a few minutes, the doors to the control center opened and a mouthwatering scent of vanilla and rain wafted towards me.
My head snapped in the direction of the heavenly scent and saw Agent Adams walking toward us.
She had changed into a pair of black bootcut jeans that accentuated her muscular thighs and plump ass. She still had her little red top and a black jean jacket on, and the stiletto heels clicked against the floor.
Her dark hair hung in tousled curls around her shoulders and her piercing blue eyes made the Earth stop spinning.
Dax got up and started pacing in my head.
“Mate! Mate! Mate!” He howled.
