She grabbed the narrow edge of a rock, made sure her grip was strong and the stone could hold her, and pulled herself up on the little cornice. A white-feathered hawk made a screech. She sighed and stood up, stretching her sore muscles. She glanced back; she was high up the mountain with a gorgeous view over the village and even a glimpse of the sea beyond the hills and forest. It was sunset, meaning the buildings were basking in the nice, golden light as the sun had already disappeared behind the forest. Only from her high-standing point could she still see it, merging with the sea on the horizon. The white hawk screeched again, making rounds above her head.
