Chapter 13

1111 Words
It was Wednesday morning, the year 2049 when Enjo and Benji weren’t born yet in this world that one of Elisa’s successors created. Everything was so alive and colorful. The trees and flowers were blooming and dancing with the wind. Elisa’s white dress swayed as the wind blows while she was looking outside the window like a princess. Today is the day when we were going to be married to someone she doesn’t love. “Get used to it, Elisa,” her younger sister, Beth, said to her while combing her long crowning glory that would hook everyone. “I’m not upset,” she replied to her since Elisa doesn’t want her younger sister to worry about her. They are really close to each other because they care for each other. Everything is fine and Elisa isn’t complaining about it since it is how things should be. She was going to marry the prince from the other nation like how her mother planned. Relationships are indeed important especially if it is for the sake of the good of their nation. Elisa is ready to sacrifice everything even her pride. Though, at some point in her life, Elisa couldn’t lie that to herself that she sometimes just wanted to pass the responsibility to someone. She wanted to be free and experience her life without stopping her from doing what she likes, but if she chose to be wild and free, there are also consequences that she would face. Her privilege of being in a royal family is the only thing that is keeping her alive and that is what Elisa’s mother thought so too. “This world is cruel,” she whispered to the wind after Beth went out of her room. The bell rang and it echoed loudly. Their wedding could be seen from far away since their castle is located on the mountain. This castle is from the nation of the prince that Emily was going to marry on this day. She hasn’t seen the prince and it was also going to be her first time to see him. The prince and the Elisa are somewhat related to each other which is a normal thing about royal families. They are indeed supposed to marry someone related to them so the royal blood would be pure running in their blood. As soon as the door opened, Elisa first laid eyes on the prince, she felt nothing like she was in her dreams. She wanted to wake up because she couldn’t face the reality. Even though the prince is fine and everything about him is completely appreciable, Elisa still can’t feel butterflies in her stomach like she used to feel when she was not yet a princess. A wedding is the best moment that some woman could ever dream of. Some women wanted to experience Elisa’s life. Some people who believed in reincarnation took their precious lives to be reincarnated as Elisa and the prince’s son or daughter. They are so desperate to be part of the royal family because they thought that their life would be easier and they would probably live their dream life. “ So I suppose, you’re my second cousin, Prince Aidan,” concluded Elisa as she drank the wine on clear glass. “Indeed, does that makes you uncomfortable, Your Majesty?” asked Aidan with respect. “I’m afraid, I cannot answer that,” responded Elisa after wiping off the wine that was on the sides of her lips. Elisa doesn’t know what she feels. She doesn’t want to let Aidan know that she felt nothing since it would be unnecessary. Of course, it takes time for them to know each other it will also take time for them to be comfortable with each other. Elisa denied the fact to herself she was not in love with him. She is making herself believe that she will eventually fall in love with him someday if they would be together for a long time. The event went well. There is no nuisance at the wedding. The people who are invited to their wedding talk and act so formally. It is like you should pay attention to how you speak and how you move. The basic etiquettes are indeed important in a royal celebration since for them, it only means that you are showing respect to everyone in the event. Of course, it was a tiring day especially for women who wore royal high heels. “There’s probably something that’s bothering you,” assured Aidan while he was taking off her vintage watch. He saw Elisa, looking down seriously like she has a clouded by thoughts, on the reflection of the mirror of their vanity. They are now in the master’s bedroom together. Elisa looked up to see the reflection of Aidan on the mirror of their vanity. She shocked her head and smiled at him like it was nothing. The reason she wanted to say to Aidan is that she isn’t ready yet for the night. Even though she is already legal and mature enough to do it with him, she still doesn’t want to. It took her 40 minutes to readied herself before saying that she was not yet ready for the night. As soon as Aidan heard her reason, his eyebrows furrowed. He was confused since he thought that she was already ready. “You shouldn’t have accepted my request like other queens would do,” he began to say. Elisa thought that he would say that it would be okay. She thought that he would accept her reason. According to the elders from the royal family, they have already decided that they should be ready for the night after the wedding. Elisa knew and she was aware that she should be indeed readied herself. She already prepared for it but she suddenly loses confidence. His response made Elisa despise him more since he said it without a little bit of respect. In the end, she decided to accept her fate. After a few months, she gave birth to Enjo. His father, Aidan, didn’t even go home to witness it since he said through a letter that he was busy on some agreements with other people. It is been 8 months since Aidan left the castle. Elisa was getting used to it since it was better for her to stay away from her husband, Aidan. She focused on raising the baby by herself. “Enjo, how was your school so far?” she asked her independent son. “It was fine, Mom,” he responded. “I’m still at the top of the class as usual.”
